  • whats the mag vest you are wearing in this video?

  • @jbarbaresi It's the excellent BCM 03 Design Group MSF chest harness. It's available on bravo company's website. I attach blue force gear 10-speed mag pouches to it as well for when I need more than 4 primary mags available. I've run it in 3 courses now and it's performed extremely well.

  • @RetreatHell looks like a pretty sweet set up man, and i love me some BCM. my bcm 14.5 is set up almost identical to yours but with a micro H1 and m300a mini scout, absent your IR laser. i have the HK syle folding front sight, other than that pretty much identical. i spent most of the night checking out your videos, keep it up. -RLTW

  • hey bro, while you shot on the range and so on in the Marines did you use that grip on your rifle? thanks.

  • @Glockcrazy19 No, we used really shitty grips that are great for the rifle qualification range but horrible for weapon control & gunfigting. Although they've gotten much better, go watch any new vids of Marines & Soldiers shooting in gunfights in A'stan right now and you'll STILL see a lot of them standing bladed and gripping the magwell or having their vert grip just a few inches away from the magwell, which is inefficient in maximizing control of the gun. It takes SO long for change to happen.

  • Do you recommend keeping your body square to the target or turning your body at an angle to the target?

  • Beautifully done my friend! Keep up the great vids!

  • I'm curious about pulling the mag out rather than just hitting the mag release button. Seems like that would slow things down. As I watched again, it looks like the mags are pretty snug in the mag well. . . is that because of duracoating or something? Thanks for posting these!

  • @drzmanproject I felt the same 2 years ago when I first learned it at my first TRICON carbine class. But during the 2 years following that class, with about 8,000+ rounds fired, I eventually figured out that Jeff Gonzales taught us that method for a reason: it works 100% of the time. I previously dropped my mags the Magpul way, but occasionally the mag wouldn't drop free(usually under stress & with a dirty gun), causing a delay. So it insures success every time, not just "almost" every time.

  • @RetreatHell good point, thanks for sharing these vids!

  • sweet

  • this looks so hard to do in a wheelchair in dirt

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Nah, that was nice solid ground. Sand, soft dirt, gravel and thick grass are a real bitch though. Sand is a no-go completely, actually.

  • @RetreatHell its pretty crazy wht 1 bullet can do to a man..anyways keep up the great vids.i just subb u as i am a new ar15 shooter..

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Yup, except for thug ass gang-bangin' bitches... they always get shot multiple times with gats and don't fucking die unfortunately. Just like how drunk drivers kill people in crashes, but they always walk away from them unscathed.

Just the way the world works. But you should've seen the other guy who shot me..... what was left of him ;)

    S/F

  • @RetreatHell yea i know what you mean..seems like the world is out to get the good guy..laws favor the scumbag girls love aid infested assholes.pricks are rich as fuck on on and on..but whatever i love my life...i actually want to join the military but i hear they are downsizing the active members now for marines and army..

  • @RetreatHell Ain't that the truth. Except for the fuckstick that shot you. You're still bust em downrange, he's rottin in a hole somewhere wonderin when his 99 virgins are gonna show up ;)

  • @RetreatHell Were you injured overseas? Hope you got the bastard!!

    Nice vids man

  • @308Sharpie Might want to check out his youtube main page if you're curious...

  • Comment removed

  • @Patriot36 Aha, evidently I didn't check out his channel before asking.

Sorry to hear man, but good for you for overcoming your injury, I salute you

  • I still use that incandescent light(the HUGE one). My giant light makes me feel like more of a man!

  • @TheCounter005 does it add more noticeable weight??

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 It does, but I'm using it on a little 14.5" LMT M4, so it doesn't really have a huge effect on the swingweight of the gun. The entire thing with an ACOG on top is still lighter than a scoped 16" LaRue Stealth. I figure as long as I stay below the weight of the LaRue I'm doing OK!

It's an old design, but hard to beat for $100 used in good condition. You can always upgrade them to LED(factory or aftermarket) as well. The ol' M951 still has some life left in it.

  • @TheCounter005 thanks kool i have a daniel defense m4v7 16inch it weighs about 7 pounds with a 3x9 scope..im going to add a flashlight laser combo with magpull angled foregrip as weel in future..

  • @TheCounter005 Yeah those LT Stealths are pretty heavy compared to other carbines without their heavier SS barrel. FYI Pat McNamara was shooting that same Stealth as you in this class and said he now has something like 17,000 rounds through it and it's still holding original MOA. Pretty damn impressive for a SS barrel!

Love Larue's stuff. Plan on getting a 7.62 OBR this year sometime.

    S/F

  • @RetreatHell You know, I bought the thing sight unseen, and when I finally had it in my hands I kept wondering if I was just a pussy or if it was really that heavy. Haha. But yeah, it's a great gun and I won't be trading it out anytime soon. A buddy of mine is shooting an 18" OBR 7.62 and the thing is unbelievable. We have this one little 10" swinger at 887 yards at our local range, and that damn gun just makes one big black mark on it without fail. Stunningly accurate!

  • @TheCounter005 Whatever makes you feel better, man! That's what's important in life! ;)

But yeah, incandescent sucks compared to LEDs. Didn't realize how much better the LEDs were until I got my first SF X300 light around 3 years ago.

  • @RetreatHell Ha! I actually have LED lights on some of my other rifles, but the M4 is something that I was trying to model after the gun on the cover of Battlefield Bad Company 2. All I need is the dang IR laser, but it's hard to justify paying that much for something I might use once or twice a year at most.

  • @TheCounter005 As you also said though, there's some awesome aftermarket cree (I believe?) LED heads for them that seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper.

  • @RetreatHell Yep, there are two complete assemblies that I know of, but from what I understand, the best way to upgrade it is to buy the head and modify the thing yourself. Electronics = Not really my specialty, so I may stay away from that until I know for sure I can do it without f'ing the thing up.

  • Ahhhhh, going full retard, one of the wonderful effects of moving, shooting and using cover. So much different then sitting at the range plinking.

  • @limekid Word up, homie. For some reason it's never happened from the bench, lol!

After I got my 24-second clean run in, I began recording my runs and was trying to push past that time, which of course is when shit happens. Pretty much happened to everyone once they set a good par time for themselves. Due to the chair, I believe my fastest time would be 20-22 seconds. The fastest time was 12 seconds, which is great! (fucking able bodied bastards!!, lol!!)

  • paul, nice video! what was causeing the noise when you fired each time? almost sounded like a hollywood silencer noise.

  • @dylang32 It's all captured on my iPhone 4, which sucks for higher dB levels. I don't know what it tops out at, but not that high. But yeah that combined with the echo made the cooler sounding noise.

OR I could go with the excuse of: I'm such a badass that guns sound cooler when I shoot them... fuck Chuck Norris! Ain't got shit on me!

    :)

  • Great video Paul! Thats a sweet looking AR you got there.

  • Enjoyed the vid. Nice shooting too. I always look forward to your videos, they help me learn and improve my skills. Thanks Paul.

  • good shit

  • BTW, who's the trainer, and where was the class? Thanks man

  • @lefty0320 That's Pat McNamara, just a little background on him, he's a former member of the Army's Tier 1 Special Mission Unit. His company is call T.A.P.S. . He's a very excellent instructor, you definitely don't want to pass up on training from him. If you want to train with him give Grey Group Training a call and they'll set you up for to go to a class. Grey Group also are good people and sell good kit and have excellent instructors.

  • @tommybond001 Thanks brother, I'll check him out.

  • Nice vid Paul. Looks like fun. God I want to take a class, soon. Supposedly Costa is gonna try to make it to MI this summer at MDFI, which is bout 2hrs from my house! I heard a quote one time from someone, "If you carry, carry all the time." That is a statement I live by now. Not paranoid, prepared. Take care brother ;)

  • @lefty0320 As tommybond001 mentioned above, check out Grey Group's website for classes and schedules. They are blowing up right now and are hosting LOTS of great instructors (as well as their own classes) all over the nation. Awesome group of guys and locked the fuck on.

  • @RetreatHell Cool, thanks Paul

  • Great vid man nice shooting. I need to get on the ball and take a course like that.

  • Its always nice to see somebody show their mistakes on camera and show how even in a training atmosphere shit happens. That is why we train. Nice work, brother. Look forward to all your videos!

  • @leadpersuasion Yup, very well said, man! Thanks!

  • nice job out there.

  • I could totally see this helping with you responding to an active shooter. Do you carry as a civilian?

  • @riverdave7 Shit yeah I do, especially in today's society! I'm actually taking an advanced handgun course as well in March. Looking forward to that one! Honestly for my applications, handgun training is much more appropriate and realistic for me. Got it on me evey day!

  • @RetreatHell i cant stop asking myself to carry but if i do carry everyday then i break the law..and btw where im from its hard to get a ccw and there has been 5 murders in 6 weeks with 1 right by where i live..i hate bad guys

  • Hey is that the magpul sling? I was wondering how that single point attatchemnt might work for sitting down in the chair. Also I was wondering if you have ever burned your leg with the muzzle? I've done that a few times with other stuff that was hot and didn't notice I was doin it and I thought it might be easy with an AR to do that while using a sling and moving around.

  • @defm1 No it's a Blue Force Gear UDC padded 1-point sling. I used to run the MS2 sling & this one is MUCH better!! I was given a new MS3 sling to use last week, but I'm still sticking with my BFG UDC sling. I don't need the 2-point option, though. So it works best for my needs/applications.

Haven't burned myself yet (KNOCK ON WOOD!!). I am always VERY careful though when shooting suppressed with my SBRs, because it could definitely happen with such short barrels & orange-glowing hot suppressors!
