  • wow what a way to start the day :) so glad I came across this cover, you've done an excellent job

  • I'm in love with Fenri since we "met"... the music is godsome! and he's sooo cuuute ^^ I replayed the game 4 times mostly because of him and this song)

  • btw instead of woman better to say mistress )

  • @lacrimarkona Yeah. "Woman" would be a more literal translation. However "mistress" sounds more poetic and basically means the same thing.

  • wtf:( I'm sorry. they merged again...

  • And that is quite adequate,& possible to translate:

To you my eyes are turned, my adore

you are my inspiration, my queen

My seductive, which I call the Queen

To you my eyes are turned, my adore

A one-hour way divides us, my adore

My seductive, which I call the Queen

    My only woman,

    Glorified be thy name!

  • @lacrimarkona

Wow that's impressive... Well... I don't speak latin but I think this is the best translation so far... O.O

  • @NorisClub123 nobody does today:) i just love languages. that's quite interesting to get the point of something you like

  • @lacrimarkona

I wanted to but I had to choose between english and latin :( I chose english... I kind of regret it because it is much easier to pick up some english rather than latin and at the tender age of 16 there aren't many opportunities for me to study latin... at least not where I live :( So... I kinda envy you :D

  • @NorisClub123 I was just lucky to study in linguistic university and Latin was kind of bonus)))) that was pretty long ago, but I still remember the rules, some words, phrases. anyway of course I used dictionary for some words 'cause I'm not so good at translations from Latin)

  • I listened to this song again & again & had some kind of inspiration to transcribe it by ear as Latin, trying not to consider English - that what I have now: Tui iī mehe tuorae ma adorea Monēre via tir regna Tu lena do regna Tui iī mehe tuorae ma adorea Mona hora via tir ma adorea Tu lena do regna Domna mihi sollia Sint a nomi Domna miri sollia Sint a nomi Domna miri sollia Sint a nomi Tu lena do regna
  • IRL Leliana

  • I read that Aubrey Ashburn co-wrote the music and wrote the lyrics for this one.

Guess she played a mage too. :)

  • It is Arcanum (Tevinter) I think it means something like:

I love you, my mother ( Tuihemeh toi madore)

everybody sees the queen (Omnare vira tir rehna)

You, the golden queen (Turena dorena )

Everybody, everybody sees the mother (Omne omne vira tir madore )

My only woman (Domna miri sollia )

Does that make sense?Man, I want an arcanum dictionary. -.-

  • @NorisClub123 Yes that makes sense ^^ (somewhat lol) I believe the first line translates as "To you, my love/adoration" (Tuiheme toi ma dore) and later "Everybody, everybody sees you, my love" (Omne omne vira tir ma dore). As for the rest, I haven't really looked at it (I'm too lazy) There's still no official translation that I know of. So until then, we must speculate and guess ^^;

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • @EdenJAM Your translation makes more sense! :D Great singing by the way!

  • @NorisClub123 I love your idea!! I also have some thoughts concerning translation (I'll use yours as well to give sense to it)

To you, my adore - Tuihemeh toi ma dore

everybody sees you my queen - Omnare vira tir rehna

You my beloved queen - Turehna dorena

To you, my adore - Tuihemeh toi ma dore

Everybody, everybody sees you, my adore - Omne omne vira tir madore

You my beloved queen - Turehna dorena

My only woman - Domna miri sollia

    Beside me - Sidanomi

  • @NorisClub123 I have one more idea: "Domna miri sollia" - "My Lady of the Sun" :)

  • @lacrimarkona

That kind of makes sense since "sol" means sun in spanish but "sola" means lonely and there is also the english word "solitude" So it might mean "my lonely lady", now that i think about it. What do you think?

  • @NorisClub123 who knows=) I interpreted it as Latin-like. in Latin "sol" means "sun"or "sunlight", "sola" - "the only one"-it's true... by the way, concerning "Sidanomi" - that time I found in Latin "sido" - "to stay, sit, remain".. and now I've found one more word - "sidera" - that means "astral" or "sidus" means "the star".. so I have several variants. "My only woman Beside me"or"Stay with me", and "My Lady of the Sun, My Star". But it's just an opinion.I wish I knew the true translation:)

  • @NorisClub123 I aggree with a arcanum dictionary as well with a elvish dictionary.

  • Wow,it is so great. This is the best dragon age song. You sing so perfectly

  • Wow, that's so beautiful

  • @MorTymhestlog Thank you very much ^_^

  • Pretty sure it's Tevinter, as the words sound very different from the structure of Uthenera or Destiny of Love. Wish there were an existing official translation/disambiguation so we'd know for sure :(

  • AWESOME! :D:D

  • Nice! This is my favorite Dragon Age song by far. I would love original lyrics, but like you, I have to sing by ear. Well done!

  • Good job :)
