  • charge the camera guy :D

  • What bullshit fuck u! Y do u say thankfully they where awarded custody... U ain't any fucking better than him. Y should u nape able to keep big cats and he can't ....

  • @samandhallie Firstly, please refrain from using swear words, we have viewers of all ages and if you continue to post we will have to block you. I will answer your question.....We RESCUE these cats from life in backyard cages, homes and fur farms. We then provide them with a permanent home for the rest of their lives, many people after a few years decide they no longer want their "pet" bobcat or situations change and they can no longer keep them.

  • @BigCatRescue The bottom line is, they are wild animals and deserve so much better, how ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of "business" we wish we didn't have to exist, but we do. We want to end the private possession of these animals so we can stop the suffering altogether.

  • @BigCatRescue I think the cat looks like he is loving it!

  • Yea what bu

  • what do bob cats eat

  • what do bob cats eat

  • nice presentation.

  • BTW i personally own a bob cat and there is nothing dangerous about them once they get used to humans hell he even plays with our jack russell he sits in my doughters lap while she pets him

  • i grew up around wild animals such as this cat kept as pets my neighbor had a mountain lion which he named symba (lame) but anyone could pet the lion children to adults and he never attacked and yes the cat was fullgrown he had a cage but was let out of it alot he would roam the owners yard be let inside and the cat was just chill he raised him from a kitten or a cub which ever one mountain lions are called but the cat never gave anyone probs he was more of a community pet

  • As a conservation biologist I just have one question. This animal is listed under least concern for conservation purposes. What the heck is the difference between you guys owning him and a good owner? Especially since you wasted a great deal of jetfuel (equalling large carbon footprint) on flying a bobcat where there are a ton of bobcats running around outside already? What a hilarious waste of resources.

  • @rejejdid It's the law..... unfortunately it isn't illegal to own big cats like bobcats, tigers and lions in over half of the USA, but it should be. These animals don't belong in backyards and homes.

  • @BigCatRescue It just ain't right!

    /watch?v=Wpqr-dQeKz4

The fact that this owner can get away with the lack of pools is horrendous!!!

  • @BigCatRescue The only beef I have with that is bobcats that come to my back door. We have one that comes in and sits down. We feed him and he enjoys it. We don't force him to come in, he wanted in. Should I be prosecuted because a precious animal was curious and liked what he got? I don't think so. That could just be me, but I think there are others that support me.

  • @rejejdid It's not about the 'good owners' or status of the animal, i don't think. It's about keeping these wild animals wild. People think, hey, it'l be cool to own a bobcat and they are too ignorant to realize that a bobcat is not a tabby. I don't understand how anyone, especially a conservation biologist, would even consider this okay. Bobcats belong in the wild, not your backyard. Similarly, keeping a wolf as a pet is wrong, wolves are not dogs and does not belong in a crate.

  • @rejejdid It's not really a waste of jetfuel if that plane was going to make that flight anyway.

  • You are lucky to have these amazing animals in your country. I know sounds selfish but I would love 1 but only if I could provide an enriching environment where it could thrive. I'm talking Bobcat Canada LYNX my fave they are the most handsome of cats and I'm sure even when its wild instincts came out it wouldnt be able to kill me. Idiots on the other hand that buy a TIGER, LION Leopard etc is stupidity in its lowest common denominator. As magnificent as they are they cankill you just by playing!

  • Sooo they took him from his home, and gave him another home. Typical government bullshit.

  • BTW, I bought a couple of Crazy Cat Lady action figure sets from your website because I do support animal rescue efforts in spite of my loathing of intrusive, government, strongarm tactics.

  • @CanadaIndieFilm Thanks for the support!

  • @BigCatRescue nevermind. i found the site at the end of the video for donating.

  • It's a stupid idea to keep wild animals as pets but I do not agree with confiscating a pet to be turned over to what is basically a small zoo. Considering that the territory for these animals is 100 square miles or more in the wild it's just another unnatural environment and worse because of the complicity with government thugs, not to mention the cruelty of removing a pet that has bonded with its owner.

  • @CanadaIndieFilm Then what are they supposed to do with these animals then??? Just where are these animals to go when confiscated? You surely can't place them back in the wild after they've grown accustomed to human's feeding them.

  • @AutopsyReport22 In most cases leave them with their owners. This cat was born in captivity and will spend it's life in captivity. I think the government confiscating a pet is wrong. What gives them the right to confiscate a pet by force and place it into another captive situation. It's a fascist action and shouldn't be tolerated.

  • ♥__♥

    awwww cute big cat

    يجنن ♥

  • how u decorate ur name in the top corner?i really want to know :\

  • beautiful cat and beautiful woman. who could ask for anything more. lol

  • Just another victim of his own cute looks. Poor little guy. At least now he has a good home.

  • I love this footage !

  • Having a rambunctious little guy like Max around would definitely erase all possibility of boredom. But you get that hyperactivity with domestic cats, too. :3

  • Do you rescue other smaller endangered cats such as Iriomote cats of Japan?

  • @Roy19841123 No, we concentrate on the cats who need in help in our country and are constantly trying to get stricter laws passed regarding the ownership of these animals.

  • @BigCatRescue I see. Can I still help by donating and shopping on your site?

  • @Roy19841123 Yes, this would be much appreciated, you can also check out our "get involved" section of our website to help give these animals a voice remotely :) THANK YOU!

  • @BigCatRescue I did a $100 donation for a Siberian Lynx named Kanawha.

  • @BigCatRescue Do you not think that a little unfair. The best thing for every animal is for it to be free in the wild where it supposed to be. However being held prisoner in a cage is not a solution - Im sure you do a ot of good hard work for these Bobcats LYNX etc though I'm sure in some instances there will be private owners that can provide a better life for the animal (in some instances!

  • @thesashworth Of course! Our ultimate goal is to put ourselves "out of business" by getting laws changed and preventing this problem in the first place so sanctuaries like BCR are not needed. We have to draw the line somewhere and the only way to do this and make a real difference is to ban the private ownership of these animals no matter what the conditions.

  • Max is so cute and cuddly. I would like to give him a big hug.

  • Well yea I do get it now. I would never agree that animals be used in any way that could potentally hurt them. No way. They do deserve protection by experts that have their best interests at heart. People jus need to understand before they make unwise decitions and end up brokenhearted. I guess we have no choice but to admire them at a safe distance... but I still wish I could hug and pet a big lion wthout him knowing it ofcourse.

  • ok its good but cannot help to feel sorry for the wacko that decided to have a bobcat cause seems that MAX cutenes was loved and its no suprise

  • so retarded they broke up a family for nothing! Bobcats and domestic cats are almost identical genetically. Thank god i live in a state where they cant mine away from me. I think people forget that most domestic carnivores are neutered/spayed at fairly young ages making them much more docile leading to the common misconception that there "wildness" is "bread out" but its not. Look at a cow. Bulls who are not castrated are very violent creatures. Mine was such a little wild man before he was fixd

  • well at least the person that first bought him sounded like he was going to take good care of him. but he should have checked the local laws first before he bought him.

  • Why is it bad to have them as a pet? I want one! :( He is incredably adorable! If you have it as a baby then what's the difference between having a little kitty and a big one? Why is it against the law? I guess it needs to be a cat in a propper place, but I bet it's owner had a broken heart when they lost him. Pets are like babies and we can get very atached. I wish I could work with big cats and learn more about them.

  • @name2users True all cats look cute when they are younger but they soon grow into the large, dangerous predators they are. They will always have their wild instinct no matter what you do to "domesticate" them. Also when someone purchases a bobcat or tiger or any species of wild cat they are fueling the trade in these animals, which means backyard breeders will continue to breed them for the pet trade and to be harvested for their body parts.

  • @BigCatRescue So if its illeagal to have a bobcat or any wildcat in Rhode Island why don't they go after the breeders there to stop it instead of the individuals who purchase the big cats from the breeders. So what happanes to the owner of max did he at least get some reinburstment for loosing his pet to the state? He did purchase the cat from the breeder at least he should get some money back for the troubles.

  • @1998gst4611 The bottom line is that there's never going to be enough money or manpower to investigate and enforce rule and regulations across the USA. That's why the only way to make a big difference is to ban the private ownership of these animals. I doubt the owner received any reimbursement, since he was breaking the law, I'm unsure if he was prosecuted?

  • Thank You BigCatRescue

  • i lov bobcats i even have 30 stuffed animals

  • 5:02

Max: "Eww, icky water." -shakes paw-

  • what an adorable animal!

  • you should put fish in thee pool for him to hunt! would you guys be allowed to do that?

  • @so2cute4u2002 There are some fish in the ponds already, I don't think he really cares about them though....?

  • I agree with them but I clearly don't know if said owner actually cared for the cat. And not just cared for the cat to be breed. If that is/was the case I would find this wrong but I don't know...

  • max is so cute

  • By the way bobcats are proven to be even more intelligent and affectionate than cats. If raised from babies, they will be pets. Just like rottweilers or other dogs that can be dangerous . An angry rottweiler is more dangerous than a bobcat!

let's stop the myth that dogs are domestic and felines are wild!

  • @cristinab415 Dogs ARE domesticated... And Rotts are just as good as any other dog. If gotten from a reputable breeder and sold to a responsible owner, they can be just as well behaved as a Labrador :)

  • When they are at full capacity they will turn down animals that are really rescue animals and were caged or abused by circuses, labs, or just plain crazy owners. In that case, the animal that gets turned down for lack of space, will be killed. This bobcat had an owner and is now taking up a spot that could have been used to SAVE an animal's life just because the state decided so. sad

  • Why doesn't the state use the tax money we pay to enforce laws that benefit society instead? In this case they used our tax money for court to take this bobcat away from his owner/guardian. Now he is taking up a spot at Big Cat Rescue , which has a limited number of spots available.

  • How sad!! To take a an animal away from his guardian who loves him..Obviously the owner loved the cat if he spend money to go to court to get him back! "the state won" This is an example of when the government wants to control people's lives and creates pain and suffering..One woman wrote she had a skunk pet, her kid loved it and "the state" discovered that, seized the skunk and killed him. An innocent animal was killed, the kid was deeply hurt, and why?

  • freakin cutie!!!

  • Awww Max is a cutie

  • I love all these videos!

  • What happened to the three bobcat kittens that BCR took in over a year ago; last time I saw they were being fed live food in an outdoor enclosure. Have they been released to the wild yet?

  • @HippyHoudini Hi, unfortunately they passed away, while we're all shocked and saddened by their loss at least we know they had the best life possible in the short time that they had....

  • @BigCatRescue That is incredibly unfortunate, does BCR know the cause of death? I am completely stunned, they looked so healthy and happy in the few videos BCR released.

  • @HippyHoudini I just sent you the link to their page ...

  • @BigCatRescue Thank you for replying, sorry for not looking into it further on my own.

  • wow cool, i am seeing these recue things everywhere. it is really nice, and if you want to see it look at Chuck Testa's channel, nothing but really cool bobcat saveing in there, better watch it!

  • well done guys!!!

  • You guys are awesome. Keep it up!

  • Love Max! --- Sent From BigCatRescue's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • he looks happy and healthy thank god the vet reprted the owner ! no one should own a wild animal of any kind laws need to change! --- Sent From BigCatRescue's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Wow! I'd love to work here. Animals are my absolute love, especially any cats.

  • Oh my goodness I'd never noticed what cute tails bobcats have! It looks like the one of a dog wagging his tail!

  • ya that is true they ligers should not be bred they suffer to mutch :(.... no animal should have to go threw that kind of pain

  • Max kills sticks like a BOSS.

  • Will be heading south to the Punta gorda area again this year...My plans are to stop in and see max before the flight back home. Cant wait to see all the cat again :) You guys do a great work

  • yaaaaaay! another rescue!!!

  • I really want to move out to Florida just so I can volunteer at Big Cat Rescue. The only thing holding me back is the climate change, I live in Canada. I don't like the heat lol.

  • SouthWest wins again.

  • it is amazing you do all of this for these magnificent animals

  • ohhh... the spunkie Max... --- Sent From BigCatRescue's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Why would anyone ever see this animal as a pet??? The keyword in this is "WILD" which is a clue that this is a non-pet animal, lol. Thanks for sharing the rescue with us.

  • @IIpounceyII If Max were still a young kitten it may have been a possibility, but he spent 6 months in quarantine in RI being around people and being fed by people etc.. When he got to BCR he was around 9 months old and associated people with food, did not fear them etc.... So he was past the point of being considered for release.

  • There are thousands of people that hunt Bobcats for sport, and kill them for no rhyme or reason. So if someone wants to own a bobcat as a pet,and give it a papmered life, I see nothing wrong with it.

  • @MrPolo284 It's a simple economics equation. The more demand there is for pets like this the more that backyard breeders will make thereby condemning more to the situations that have led to the illegality of owning such pets. People give up pets when they're older because they're no longer fun, exotic animals are neglected since they grow to be unmanageable. I suggest watching more of these videos, especially the ones on tigers, or tune in to Fatal Attractions on the Animal Planet.

  • @MrPolo284 Bobcats and other species sold as "pets" are bred in captivity this doesn't have anything to do with wild populations. There are thousands of big cats living miserable lives in private hands due to the trade in exotic wild animals as "pets" they are also bred for their body parts and to be hunted, owning a bobcat adds to this trade and abuse.

  • This made me happy, in an emotional way! Yay for Max!

  • Have you ever considered putting some fish in the ponds for enrichment?

  • So who are the lucky felines that get to be Max's neighbors?

  • @apharot Max is close to Khan and China (tigers), Moses and Bailey (bobcats) and Nirvana (Ocelot)

  • This is a great story, if I could I'd donate to the BCR. I'm afraid I don't have much money to donate, and I'm young living with my parents who don't really like the idea of donating to rescues like this as much as I do.

I'm from Naples, Florida and I have always had a passion for animals, especially reptiles. I hope to one day be a big impact in animal rescues just like this. The least I can do is say is that this is ridiculously awesome and keep up the amazing job. ^_^

  • what a beatiful and amazing animal you people do great things

  • I'm glad Max has a new home, but since he was raised in someone's home as their pet, isn't he missing the interaction and attention from people? I hope he's not lonely.

  • @petlovergirll Maybe, but bobcats are solitary animals and they like their own space. Plus these cats mature and their wild side really starts to show, it's not safe to interact with them.

  • @BigCatRescue True, I'm sure he's in the best place for his situation. Thanks for helping Max!

  • that blue/red airplane was so cool!

  • He is so hyper I just love it!

  • did you ever hear of a liger they are a tiger and a lion mixed they are realy i just was watchen it on tv they are realy cool but the sad thing is hat theyend up haveing lots of problems because of there un-normaly larg size but they are something to see

  • @native417 Yes, ligers are man made hybrids that do not exist in the wild, you're right they do suffer from many health problems and have shortened lifespans because they should not be bred.

  • Although cute when it was little, you wonder why the owner wouldn't consider how difficult it would be to take care of a wild 40 lbs. bobcat.

  • @seminolewar I rough-house with a couple of my cats, and they are a lot more powerful then people give them credit for,got the scars to prove it.Get them all hopped-up on cat-nip and they get that vacant, bloodthirsty look.My sister has a 13-stitch scar down her fore-arm when her cat gave birth to a litter, and then started to freak out.Something about the birth changed it I reckon.I can only imagine how bad it would get if one tried to play with a Bobcat,ER visit for sure.

  • So previous owner was bad or state just take him because "you cant have it"?

  • @dubinek88 In our opinion anybody who buys a wild species of cat and adds to the trade and abuse of these exotic animals is either a bad person who wants to feed their ego or uneducated. But Max was seized because it was illegal to own Max in Rhode Island

  • @BigCatRescue I agree with that, its unfair to those animals to be kept like house cats... Keep up good work...

  • what a beauty. sweet story. wish they were all this lucky. good job girls. :-)

  • Awww.... Max is awesome :) Seems like he has a lot of wild spirit still in him.

I really admire what BCR is doing. You guys are doing something worthy, and hopefully you can help ensure that generations to come will still know what these animals really look, and behave like. Thanks.

  • very preety

  • This video makes me happy.

  • Jesus!! these TSA people really are braindead. You should have let them pat him down.

  • what - a - cat! cattitude!

  • I love you guys and MAX!)

  • AND HIS PAWS ARE SO FLUFFY!!! :D

  • Aw he's so cute :D I did a project in science on the lynx and found that bobcats are their cousin! They have similar behaviors, too :-)

  • He sure loves the camera!

  • What a funny cat xD I love bobcats, big cats in general actually, and I love what you guys do!

  • Also, do you ever think of putting fish in Max's pond? Maybe he could fish?

  • @YoavKargon There are some fish in there already :)

  • Does plane travel affect big cats? Sometimes my ear pops at take-off. Was Max bothered at all?

  • @YoavKargon I'm sure they experience similar effects to us but Jamie said he was very quiet throughout the flight :)

  • i so glad you all love to help these animals....... god bless you and the kittys

  • you guys are awesome for giving Max the life he deserves :)

  • 1 dislike was the bobcat's previous owner.

  • I'm going to my home in Naples this April. Figure i'm going to have to make the 5 hour drive to come give Max and all my other favorites a visit!

  • @shaggy2dope666 Sounds good! Great time to visit the sanctuary when it isn't too hot, Max will be even more active! :)

  • such a pretty boy (:

    makes me really love my tiger (;

  • Very well done !

  • cool :)

  • As much as I love big cats,I would never try to purchase one as a pet, anything that weighs as much or more then me is just bound to end badly. That said, out of all the non-domesticated Felidae, what would be the easiest to eventually domesticate?.A Lynx,Bobcat,Ocelot, etc. . .are not that gigantic. If one was to attempt to do so(and I know it would take a few eons to do)would the Bobcat be the best candidate?.And could it get along with common housecats?.Again, have no intent, just a question.

  • @Pancerni I have no idea to be honest with you, obviously the easy answer is that these cats will never be domesticated, they may tolerate you but their wild instincts will always remain.

  • i love how you guys are in florda, right near where i live XD

  • Awwwwww!! He is just so very adorable >3 --- Sent From BigCatRescue's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • i want to donate... but i just dont got the money :(

  • In 2012 i come from Holland to America for a 3 weeks vacation so i hope that my family and me are able to visit your sanctuary. I think it s a long way driving from Orlando but Mickey Mouse have to wait :-))))) ♥♥Jeannette♥♥

  • @jikkehond Sounds good! Tampa is only a little over an hours drive away from Orlando on a good day, that cat are waiting! :)

  • @jikkehond Disney is GREAT FUN and you'll enjoy a few daZe there before needing to get outta town, so a day trip out to BCR will be a wonderful getaway. You will LOVE it!

  • thank you for continuing to provide good homes for animals like these!

  • wonderful

  • Wow, bobcats are so interesting. He sounds exactly like my pet cat when he sniffs and purrs. It's a small world with cat noises.

I hope everyone else can enjoy Max's interesting noises.

  • Bob cats are like mini tigers

  • @BigCatRescue This week's video about MAX the rescued Bobcat from R.I., is a blessing to him. I found this video to be very endearing, stimulating, goodhearted, & informative, regardless of a previous owners intentions for them. I'm just glad that for some time now, along w/ like animals & friends that he's in great hands w/ blessed soldiers in the battle for good! I hope everyone at BCR had a good Thanksgiving & here's wishing you all have a blessed Christmas & Happy New Year as well! :D

  • @MIDNIGHT0521 Thank you! Hope you have a good holiday season too and thanks for watching our videos :)

  • Max is high on the good life at BCR!

  • from this video, i have no idea why the ''bobcat'' car in grand theft auto was so shit and slow?

  • Kudos to Southwest Airlines for being so helpful! It's great that they saved Max from having to spend a long, uncomfortable drive from Rhode Island down to Florida.

  • The girl talking is kinda cute.

  • What an adorable little ball of energy! I'm sure he is thankful to have a nice safe home to run around in now :)

  • What an amazing, beautiful cat!! He looks like he's having a blast!!

  • hes cute! i wanna pet him :-)

  • What a beautiful Bobcat! I guess the backyard owner disliked this video, lol. Maybe he should come and work for you guys as a volunteer instead ;)

  • He's just like an energised kitten, just much, much bigger.

  • aww i love how he plays like a little baby!:)he's really adorable, great that you guys rescued him:)

  • funny how much attitude Bobcats have

  • @wesmartino64 Right! Just imagine if they were tiger size!

  • @BigCatRescue i told every one i know to sub and i commented on some vids saying that peps need to sub all for the cats but mainley 4 the tigers

  • Max's so lovable XD Ninja bobcat!

  • Love that Max, thanks for taking care of him.

  • Always so happy to see the great work you all do. I wish I had the money to donate or lived close enough to donate time. I love all cats big and small and am always happy to see these animals get a good home. Of course I am even more happy when I see the ones you are able to release back into the wild where they belong. Keep up the great work!

  • @Azreal34 We will, thanks for the support :)

  • so cute... i want it!! :) such a little character! can you be my pet kitty? :)

  • Stupid question time: Can you guys train him to be wild? Feed him live food and keep people away from him etc?

Just a thought, he seems so spirited and given he is still a baby, maybe teacing him to be wild would not be such a bad thing.

I still think it's great he managed to get a home with you guys, if only the guy from Ohio did that. Would have been a far better outcome.

  • @rednogo It's too late now, after 6 months in quarantine in Rhode Island, interacting with people and being fed by people that imprint is created and will always be there, Max would not fear people and become a nuisance animal

  • @BigCatRescue That's sad! But it never hurts to ask I suppose! I'm so glad Max is with you guys! He is way better off!

  • Where I hike we have wild bob cats all over the place. They just walk around. We stay away but they don't seem to care about us.

I wish I could donate to you guys but I can't this year.

All I can do is give you a great big THANK YOU for all you do!

As soon as I get a job I will gladly send you something!

  • @MobRulesNow Watching and sharing our videos helps! Thank you :)

  • She said to stop animals from being takenn and put to captivity, isn't what they are doing now also?

  • @MrAlvinSinfulSong listen carefully, when a person captures a wild animal, the animal is condemned to a life in captivity. She said she would much rather Max had been left alone, than for Big cat rescue to be needed to provide a decent sanctuary, (instead of a basement or back yard.)

  • @MrAlvinSinfulSong We're rescuing them from poor conditions/situations and providing them the best possible life in captivity. We're not creating the problem by breeding, trading and exploiting these animals, but campaigning for stricter laws regarding the possession of these animals, so sanctuaries like BCR do not need to exist.

  • Yeah, I'm sure he loves to watch the nearby ducks. I'm sure he'd like to do more than that to them LOL. (Maybe he'd be kind enough to share with you BCR! ;)
