  • I keep coming back to this one....I love Janie and Johnny and this video is one of the best!

  • Just beautiful. I just can't stop watching this one. They are awesome together. Thanks

  • Great song by a fabulous duet.Sin Johnny Duncan never got the accolades he deserved.

R.I.P. Johnny, we will never forget you especially with tears in our eyes..

  • WOW! Theres no country like this anymore. I remember Janie on the Statler Brothers Show. Love her , Johnny, and the Statlers. Hey. Saw a tribute group to the Statlers called American Pride. My husband loves it. Maybe real music will come back.

  • This song and this pair of great artists are what made country music so great. This song makes me miss the good old days when country music was country music and not the so-called plastic country music that is now performed today.

  • if there is a way to wear this out i am close many many thanks

  • I've never heard a duo that complemented each other sound as much as Johnny and Janie did, what a duo. I never get tired of hearing them, their vocals always puts me in a good mood.

Johnny you left us much too soon!

  • oh yeah!! one of the all time great country duos!!

  • I read about this song basically causing Janie Fricke to have a solo contract. I can certainly see why now that I have seen it. A brilliant performance for both artistes.

  • This may be the best country song ever, IMHO of course. Love this song, thanks for sharing.

  • Is there a video available of them singing "Come A Little Bit Closer" as well? Great duo!

  • Does anyone remember the song "Charlie" by Johnny Duncan. Been trying to find it.

  • I'll take Conway and Loretta, but this is a great duet.

  • @bigsteve532

I'd still go George and Tammy > Johnny and Janie but how underrated BOTH of these two are.

  • Tear jerker, if ever. RIP JD, JF you lost a treasure, if ever one, forever...

Goodbye True Country, hello ???? phony "Nashville"...

  • THIS SONG IS AWSOME. WISH THAT THERE MORE SONGS OUT THERE LIKE THIS ONE.

  • now thats music

  • I think he really dug Janie !!!

  • Heard this song for the first time in many years the other day. Thanks for posting it!

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST...Johnny was one of a kind. He was 2 months younger than me. Why did he leave us so soon?

  • Oh yaa....one of the best....

  • I will never get boared listening to this a million time over

  • She has the perfect voice for country. Low and sultry or driving with the feelings!

  • terrific ...had this on vinyl once

  • Sadly he died from a heart attack.

True country nothing like garbage country today.(Texas Roadhouse Steak House) Country music played there atrocious.

    Nashville sold out....

  • @bigsteve532 If not they are definitely in the top 5. Johnny died in 2006 but I am unsure of what from.

  • Im proud to be a fellow Texan as Johnny and Janie are. Johnny lived in Dublin until his death, and Janie still lives in the Lancaster area. This music "IS" Country music. None of the mainstream Nashville Pop sound we hear today.

  • I've been in love with Janie Fricke since I was 17 years old.

  • WOW

Saw them so many times in person... wish I could see them again with my mom and dad!!!

  • Great duo!

  • Great performance!

  • I like it!!!!!!Her smile is great!!!

  • Thank you for the wonderful post! This is by far the best pair in country music! I sure miss the "old" country music...

  • I go back many, many years with country music ( late '40s early '50s ). In my mind Johnny Duncan & Janie Fricke recordings are rated # 1. They are definitly the greatest duet singers I've ever heard.

  • i love this video, johnny duncan was a good singer. its ashame he died. i love this song stranger, & thinkin of a redezvous. from patty robertson.

  • Yep! Uh-huh! No doubt about it...I'm in love with Janie Fricke. And the song is one of my all-time favorites, too.

  • Janie Fricke is about one of the best female singers ever in country music. Vern Gosdins Til the end with her backing vocals still gives me chills this day. I'm with ya'll country music today is NOT country music. Shame on Nashville!!!!

  • This song got Jannie her own recording contract. She gas really got it!

    Lindy

  • I too miss country-western music. At least we have memories and YouTube postings. Thank you Minescountry2.

  • A broken record I know, but country can never be this way again!

  • I never get tired of watching this video. They are so charming and talented - too bad country music isn't what it use to be!

  • Yep, we'll never see the likes of a duo such as these two again.

  • Two great singers singing a great song. I could'nt wait for this song to play on the radio again in 76. Thanks for posting it.

  • I bought this 45 in 1976 and wore it out. I was 18. They were so good together.

  • what a great video. johnny and janie were perfect together. R.I.P. JD

  • Johnny Duncan and Janie Fricke...what a precious combo..R.I.P. Johnny Duncan.

  • They are SO good together! This video disappeared for awhile but I finally found it again. Just Magic!!

  • Thanks so much for the repost, I enjoy this song, a classic.

  • Great live performance. R.I.P. Johnny...we sure miss that smooth voice!

  • Jannie is amazing. Still so talented. Would like to see her solo posted. "Its Not Easy Being Easy"

  • What a wonderful voice Johnny Duncan has. I really love hearing his voice after all this time....I am 38 and I owe it to my Daddy for listening to this wonderful music as I grew up!

  • Johnny Duncan is my Grandad. Thank you for posting this. The family enjoyed seeing it.

  • Nice ione -Janie has a fantastic ability to duet - she fits her voice into his - matches up - thanks for posting - 'shut out the lights and lead me' - great line - Nice Duet -

  • I've become a huge Johnny Duncan fan....great country. i wish the "modern day country" was more like him.

  • This is as good as it gets.

  • I live in Dallas Texas, and Janie lives in the Desoto/Lancaster area and Johnny lived in Dublin Texas, so I am very proud to be neighbors with them. Of Johnny is now gone God bless him. I worked at Southern Junction many years and have met Janie a few times and know most of her local band. This is TRUE country music at its BEST!

  • There's a magic between those two. Love it.
