  • Does any card fit in any computer?

  • @MRiSellDrugs No... You need to make sure your motherboard has the right slot input for the graphics card you have... there are AGP, PCI, and PCI Express cards.. You also need to make sure that your power supply has enough power for the graphics card (if the card requires extra power)

  • Whats a good graphics card for a Dell 4600? Im looking to upgrade from a Nvidia Geforce 4 Mx 440... I was thinking of switching to an ATI.. I only play Americas Army and I want to be able to watch HD video.. Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • He said in order to ground yourself, touch any metal object like your water tap / faucet.

  • i have a all-in-one acer touch how the hell o i install a graphics card on that?

PLEASE TELL ME BY INBOXING ME OR REPLYING TO THIS COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if i have a belting graphic card and its beeping alot can i just install a new graphic card in the other graphic slot

  • how do u ground urself?? i couldnt understand

  • @navijatt You can do what he said "water tap" like a faucet... You can also touch the inner (metal) part of your PC case to ground yourself..

  • @stopwhining1 can u explain literally wat u have to do ... when u say touch do u mean literally with ur hand.. or foot? or some kind of wire or lead u use?

  • @navijatt Yes just touch the metal part of the PC case frequently while working inside the PC.. Also, by all means, do NOT work on your PC while on carpet.. Do it on a hard surface like hardwood floors and you'll be fine.. I usually work on my PC in my kitchen since its the only place without carpet

  • Nice one

  • it looks like simple :D

  • what if the tower of your computer isnt thick and the graphics card wont fit do they make cards that arnt so long like where the plugins are?

  • You'll need to check to see if your PSU can handle the card you're installing. Newegg has a tool to help you determine if your system can handle the card you want. Go to Newegg-Computer Hardware-Power Supplies. On the left it'll say "Power Supply Wattage Calculator".

If you don't know enough to fill that out go download "Speccy" it'll give you all the system specs to help you fill out the Newegg tool. It's through Piriform the same people that make CCleaner, so its safe.

  • Information for people who know barely anything about computers:

If you want a gaming graphics card that requires external power make sure that your power supply is at least 500w so that you can run the card, but 500w wont work with super high end cards like the GTX 590 or GTX 580.

Now if your not looking for a gaming graphics card and you just want something better than integrated intel graphics you can get a GT 520 which is around I think about $50, and it does not require external psu power

  • i did everything like this.. but when i plug it to graphic cart it doesnt show me picture.. what can i do? :S

  • My pc !!!

  • What I did was buy a Dell Inspiron with a good processor but no graphics card. I bought the HIS IceQ HD 6950, a 500W power supply, and a Apevia mid-tower case so the card can fit. At the end, it cost as much as the Dell XPS but with a better-cooled case, better graphics, and more power for overclocking.

  • I have the Geforce Galaxy 8400 GS graphics card DDR2 512 MBPCI Express and when I get to the final step the monitor dose not want to connect to the computer no matter were I plug the VGA cable. HELP

  • But How do you do this with a netbook?

  • when i installed my video card, the monitor doesn't turn on, it says it's not connected to anything

  • I have A " HP Compaq dc 7800 Small Factor Pc : Core 2 Duo 2.33 CPU with an intel chipset Graphics , shit graphics !!! , And I baught a " Nvidia Geforce G210 " , And The computer is small , How can i instal It carefully !!!! PLEASE !!!!!!

  • i have dell optiplex 755 with intel core2 duo e8400 3.0 with 4gb memory and 160 gb hdd can my machine support nvidia gt 9600 ddr3 1gb

  • Loving the dramatic music in the background to give the viewer stress xD

  • do you need the graphics card and video card

  • I have a stupid compaq hp computer and its REALLY Skinny and small it has the stupid intel chipset graphics card and i don't know what to do if i want a good graphics card for gaming

  • @HCHotPenguin Just get a good card, And plug it in. When you put in a physical graphics card, The motherboard will immedietley change to the graphics card and ignore the chipset. Hope this helped. Make sure you have the right power supply unit though.

  • @KingOfAceZ1 Ok thanks but im worried if that graphics card is a fat one and will not fit in but i think there are good skinny graphics card so thanks!

  • @HCHotPenguin you can always transfer the guys of that PC to a new case but in this scenario you would need a new power supply because the slim line series computers do not have the power to host a gaming card nor do they fit in any new cases other than slim lines

  • @HCHotPenguin u buy a new computer...graphics card wont make gaming a breeze if ur other components are shit

  • @HCHotPenguin Only thing i can think of is to buy a case and transfer all ur parts to it, that way there will be more room for a good gaming card (7970 =P)

  • @HCHotPenguin i recommend the radeon hd 6670

  • @HCHotPenguin all you need is a "low profile" graphics card. search for one on newegg

  • @HCHotPenguin get a new computer

  • I have a emachine desktop but i dont think its a gaming computer. I like to play WoW and League of Legends. What would be the best graphics card for me?

  • @xTwistyMangox good graphics card would be something like gt220! Its not just your graphics but also your RAM ! 4gb RAM is good!

  • that awkward moment when i already had an awsm graphic card and didn't know

(kuz it was not installed and the pc was already use lol

  • why you have a jacket in the house on ? you silly stupid :3

  • Why dont graphics cards come with a video like this if they cost over 300 dollars

  • oh ur voice turns me on moree

  • are you canadian? lol

  • @AMDUnprocessed my computer has the Q965/Q963 chipset family so i cant really take it out so when i install my new graphics can i just disable it manually from the computer settings? Please Help.

  • how would you remove the old one?

  • Comment removed

  • ok so i did the same thing with the nvidia gtx 400 series with extra power cables from the power supply , i did everything required but for one i couldent do anything on my computer as the resolution completly changed and i was unable to see anything , using my laptop i accessed my computer's screen and tryed it from there but then the drivers wouldent download , it was saying errors , uncompatible etc so am i correct saying that the graphics card just isent compatible with my pc ? Plz help

  • ive got a nearly 5 yr old packard bell sooo can i add hd radeon 5770 and higher?

  • @nerferproductions i wouldnt say so couse your motherboard shouldnt have a pci-express slot which those cards require

  • hey i have dell inspiron 545. It has ATI Radeon 4350 (512mb). I have 3Gb ddr2 RAM. And I think PCI-E 2.0x16 slot, 300 watt PSU.

Can i buy a graphic card with ddr3 memory?

    Can I buy a graphic card with 2.1x16 ?

And can you suggest a ddr2 2Gb card.

  • i wish i had a better graphics crad :( mine is intel gma x4500 graphics

  • My hp keeps going to sleep and will not turn back on... I have to hold down the power button, not its going to sleep soon as i power it up... Does this mean i need a new video graphix card????

  • The future is...

  • what's the difference between the blue slot where you put the cable in to connect to your monitor and the white one?

  • @TheGheyPhag one is hd one is not

  • @hmiddle3495

    you must be new here

  • @TheGheyPhag

one is dvi(white) and one is vga(blue)

  • @TheGheyPhag DVI keeps the signal digital, whereas with VGA it is first converted to analog RGB before being sent to the monitor. At resolutions up to about 1280x1024 or a little higher there is virtually no noticeable difference in quality, but when you start getting to higher resolutions you'll notice more sharpness (higher point contrast) on DVI since it's a digital rather than continuously variable video signal. So 1920x1440 would likely look a bit better with DVI than with VGA.

  • @TheGheyPhag 1 is DVI and other is VGA, DVI is better quality but HDMI is the best

  • @TheGheyPhag blue is vga and white is dvi white is better

  • @TheGheyPhag they are two different ports, one is DVA and one is PVA/dvi

  • @TheGheyPhag The blue slot is a VGA port.. If you have a CRT (Cathode ray tube) Monitor (Really long in the back sometime bubbly screen) Then that's where you plug it in at. The other one is your DVI port (Digital Video Input) This is where a LCD monitor can plug into. A LCD monitor can plug into the VGA port, but either you have an adapter, or it has one built in. :) Great question, glad you asked..

  • @TheGheyPhag one is DVI and one is VGA they are just different display cables

  • @TheGheyPhag VGA, Or the blue slot, Is the default slot for monitors.

DVI, The white slot, Is a high performance slot. Not all monitors support dvi, But you'll get better performance by using it.

  • @TheGheyPhag the blue one is called VGA and the white one is called DVI Your video card probably comes with a DVI to VGA converter adapter incase u do not have a DVI cord for your monitor.

  • @TheGheyPhag The blue is for VGA connectors, some PC/TV monitors have this type, the white is a DVI connection, usually PC monitors use them, but now u will see more DVI since VGA is older analog

  • @TheGheyPhag Blue is VGA, White is DVI. More and more PC monitors will be using DVI in the future.

  • @TheGheyPhag the blue one sends an analog signal while the white one sends a digital signal which make the white one have a nicer picture

  • So u need a Graphix card to play gta 4

  • @YungDelphinOceanGang LOL ?! You're kidding right ? xD

  • When you have inter graded graphics and u plug in graphics card and turn PC and u get a black screen what does that mean

  • @xmaxfactorx oh ok then i'll have to cutom build it

  • I'm still scared too do it. I don't want to fuck up my computer.

  • @DamnNowImmaBrony Just DO IT already

  • Can you upgrade a integrated card?

  • Comment removed

  • @eric8510282e nope lol

  • for the HD 6870 do you need two 6 pins connected or just one?

  • @zeztro I think you only need 1, but I'm not sure.

  • is this same way for ATI Radeon HD 4850 1GB DDR5?

i mean for power or fan...?

  • I assume this will also work with Nviadia cards

  • I can't wait for modern warfare 2, it's gonna be awesome!

  • @Warbek96 Mw2?

  • @Warbek96 wait what?

  • @Warbek96 uh dude ......wtf ?

  • wow i never knew it was so easy ur a beast

  • ok so... if I don't have a pair of free 6 pin connectors do I have to get a new PSU? The one I have is a 750w, two years old, but no 6-pins. The GPU came with a molex to 6-pin, but the card requires two 6-pins. I bought a second molex to 6-pin and hooked them into the same line but when ever the GPU had to do some real work my whole system would reboot.

Should I just look into getting a new PSU with two 6-pins?

  • can i put two graphic cards?

  • i have a thinkpad x100e :(

  • my name is devan too but with an "A" :(

  • i have hd 6670 plz give me CCC 3d application setting....

  • My graphics card has 2 slots were it should be plugged in to the power supply can I just plug in 1? Would that be ok

I have the n569gtx graphics card

I have a 600w power supply and the requirements for my graphics card is 500w

    Please Someone help :)

  • @MrGoldspy no plug both in you need them for it to run

  • @MrGoldspy No that won't be OK, you need an adapter for 2 molex to 6-pin connectors. I suggest you not to only look at the watts, but look at the combined amps/watts on the +12V rail. It should be at least, 30A or 360W for a GTX 560, for a GTX 560 ti you need 35A or 420W. If you do meet the amps requirement, you can use adapters. Adapters sometimes come with the card you are buying, take a look at those. If you can't find it, go buy one :). If you don't meet the requirement, buy new PSU.

  • my display card before is hd6870 n i just change it with hd6990. but when it install catalyst 11.12 complete i cant play any game anymore, so i upgrade it with 12.1 new problem coming, play bfbd2 it got broken then i try it with bf3 offline it got so lag. then i changed it with hd6870 all the game run like usually. What i must to do? please..

  • @bigbskull It maybe because of CPU bottlenecking or because of the Power supply which is not enough.

  • arg hard to watch when the vid constantly has to buffer from my radeonHD 6450 piece of crap. Yet somehow a decade older pc is better with a younger radion with a lower price. So I almost have to install a new graphics card to watch a video on how to do it XD D:<

  • what is your motherboard and computer specs? pls

  • @hammudi90 Hello, he is from AMD so he can have any AMD Configurated system :).

  • I went from an NVIDIA Geforce GT 220 and now I have a Radeon HD 6750, I installed it but I needed an external power supply. I got a 6-pin cable that converts to a 3-pin cable (because my battery didn't have 6-pin cables). It doesn't work, either I fucked it up straight away by turning the pc on without a power supply or there is something else wrong. Help please?

  • @metallicarocks6 You need to buy a new decent Power Supply.

  • @unrefillable I have a good one, my graphics card requirements is 450 watts, and my battery is 550 watts

  • I love how you say card

  • @derekeano cuuurds

  • I have an ati radeon HD 6450 (pci express 2.0, DDR3)

Can I install Radeon HD 6870(pc1 express 2.0,DDR5)?

  • @kleanthisky Depends on your Power supply, if it is 500W+ and has 2 6-pin PCI-E connector you should be able to. Open your case and see, good luck :).

  • @unrefillable No there isn't any pci-e connector. what can I do?? buy a new power supply?

  • @kleanthisky I suggest you to do so, make sure you buy good brands, The brands I like is Corsair, Antec, XFX and Seasonic.

  • @unrefillable OK I decided. I will but a Corsair with dvd drive and cpu cooler. amazon(dot)com/Corsair-500-Watt-Certified-Compatible-Platforms/dp/B004W2T2U6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326731810&sr=8-1

    thank you for your help

  • @kleanthisky Go ahead, there is 2 PCI-E connectors, according to newegg :).

  • Can you install a graphics card without changing any other specs on it.

  • @ghstr3con555 If you have decent parts you should be able to change your Graphic cards :).

  • i have a toshiba mini, like from bestbuy, can i install a more recent, higher up graphics card like an nvidia ultra or something like that?

  • how do you ground yourself?

  • I still use the 5770 one .. damn

  • @tiggar194 you probably just need to get the dust out of your system if you havnt already done that

  • Love ATI. Nvidia is ok too.

  • you forgot to screw in the other screw lol

  • Can i possibly do this with a laptop?

(lol probably not, but worth a try)

  • @AtomicPengWIN What resolution is your screen? And does right clicking on desktop and hitting screen resolution not let you change this? Some PC's can't deal with high resolutions. This may be the case for you and yes a new card would help.

  • @AtomicPengWIN well if its stuck u do need a new graphic card, or ur monitor is pre 1995 ;b

  • does it speed up the system and gameplay?

  • @Pilotguy251 Yes
