Society's "device" ? No, just the error of humans being tribal in nature, as all humans form groups, compare & compete on all levels and in all aspects of life. Jealousy is the result of this. It's really nothing more than a immature reaction to a immature illustration or "show" of emotional force. It's best to recognize the patterns and be ready for these kinds of things. Your experiences with the past will set you up for the future.  Just know what jealousy is and WHY it happens. Device ? No.

Jealousy is wrong, envy is good. If you envy it means you allow people to be somewhere or have something. If you are jealous it means you don't want someone to be in that situation. So allow and respect people and aim for what you want, who asks in faith shall be given says Jesus. Dare to compete and learn.

I have never understood nor experienced being jealous or envious of anyone, I really don't get it. I have seen it in others, but I can't say I have ever felt that way towards anyone, so I really have never been able to get my mind around these types of emotions. I don't know what that feels like. I have seen people act it out, but I don't get it.

@Zodslayer I think if one's parents set unrealistic, inconsistent, or even contradictory standards, it leaves one unsure as to their own worth. I think also if too much emphasis was put on achievements and appearance, rather than just satisfaction with one's uniqueness, one is compelled to compete to assuage the fear that others are superior in some way.

You are told that you aren't enough as you are, that you must work to be a doctor ect. They want you to be a social utility not to be free.

I looked up Osho's birthday on the Mayan Calendar and I must say his Galactic Tone being 9 and Sun Sign being Seed explains alot about him that I'm sure the Mayans were very accurate. 9 is the energy of getting a better perspective of the bigger picture were patience and perseverance is found. Seed people strive to free themselves and others from debt or oppressive patterns of the past.
