Basil will come back every year. I have lemon basil and its great on chicken and fish. It keeps spreading like a weed and I will have to pull a lot of it up because it's starting to cover up my sage. I will hang it to dry and put in old spice bottles to use and give away.. Good luck with your gardening and if you need any advice please feel free to ask.
