another thing which will help is that the deep muscles under your foot will start to increase in muscle tone, increasing your arch (good for people who are flat footed)
by doing that there is more of a bounce effect as your forefoot makes contact with the ground, your arch flattens. Under tension the flattened plantar muscles will then contract (elastic component) giving your stride a spring effect
