I read a list that said that USA had 107 school shootings between 1966 to 2011 (91 of those between 1990 to 2011) while Canada only has 10 (6 of those being between 1990 to 2011). So I would definitely agree with you. These events are pretty rare in Canada.
The way legal gun owners trivializes debate is pathetic. The difference between a legal firearm & an illegal 1 is paper work. That's it. They both can kill. If a hunters gun is stolen & used 2 kill somebody, i dont see why he shouldnt be charged with murder just like get-away drivers get the same amount of time as the bank robber.
A boy from my school (17 years old)stabbed and killed another boy at a new years eve party. He got about 9 months in prison then was released. Just awhile ago my friend saw pictures of him on facebook doing kareoke having a grand old time. That boy is dead. He's living it up.
