err i meant compare what this band sounds like NOW (like the year 2008) to what sonic youth sounds like in the year 2008. if we dig back far enough the point i was just trying to make makes no sense at all.
i remember way back when this band was new, the "old guard" (more or less just sonic youth and their disciples) were very dismissive bardo pond as not being "legit" art rock insofar as it was too "drug-based". LMFAO, fast forward 15 years and look at what these guys are capable of doing and compare that to SY.
@garfus2 - yeah man, what the hell is "nonlegit" music and "too drug based" anyway??? Music is music, regardless of what inspires the musicians. I love BP exactly because they mimic the effects of psychedelics through sound. And obviously they keep their shit together very well, for many years now. Btw, it's awesome to see BP with Kawabata, tripcore supergroup here.
