He published a more specific forecast: 15-23, 27 Feb, 5, 19-21 March, and 17-18 April. (16 days of three months). See earthquake resources section of the GNS Sciences website. 7 of the eight largest quakes were included on those dates, the 8th was on 16 April. The 9th largest was much smaller than 8th 140t v 370t TNT, so I cut off at 8. He picked the 22 Feb quake as "short and sharp". I felt that true. He also picked E/W. Stats example: pick 2 days correctly from 90: 1/90 x 1/90 = 1/8100 odds
dude. wake up and smell the coffee. he was saying last year about feb 22nd. he even said on feb 14th about it people got prepared, did you? now who's stupid? also hes not predicting anything, hes saying its a possible time because of what ever his reasons are, hes not saying all of the month like that mambo jumbo your going on about. He is saying the 20th as the center, 19th-21st. Do you take acid? Just curious.Scientists know far less. Astrophysical = causes, predictions)
@getanissan1 I am not sure if you just didn't listen or can't read properly? Mr Ring DID confirm that he DOES use "+/- 4 days" from each event. If you have a close look at that chart from his article "The Ethics of Warning" you will clearly see that he HAS used "full moon & new moon (FM & NM) +/-4 days, and perigee (P) & apogee (A) +/- 4 days. Please have another look.
Also, there are on average 150 mag 6+ quakes every year!
"hes not predicting anything" Really? "PREDICT weather.co.nz"
@getanissan1 moon gravitational todal effect on crustal displacement is so minimal that it needs a gravimeter to measure the diaural fluctuations that even then, are very minimal on the associated data. now, compare that to the crustal tensions/compressions needed to generate fualt movement, and its just another kettle of fish. unfortunatly people listen to bad news vs.nsible news and its uneducated people (in the subject matter) like you that get hooked. i know this becuase im a geophysicist.
@getanissan1 oh and btw - take the time to work through his 'correlations'(which you havnt) and youl see that he is essentially refering to every day of the month, or something like that mambo jumbo
@getanissan1 people who suggest other people are on drugs have no argument.
How amusing that you state you are curious and that 'scientists know less' on the same line.
Ring never predicted an earthquake till after Sept 4 ffs.
The magician and cat paw reader suddenly turned himself into an earthquake expert - yeah sure, what would those guys who have studied at university for years and now made geology their life's work know compared to last month's cat palmist?

Frequency of Occurrence of Earthquakes Worldwide:
Magnitude / Average Annually (monthly):
8 and higher = 1 per year
7 - 7.9 = 15 (1+ per month)
6 - 6.9 = 134 (11+ per month)
5 - 5.9 = 1319 (109 per month)
4 - 4.9 = 13,000 (1083 (estimated) per month)
I hope these official stats put things into perspective.
Given that there are 11+ 6 to 6.9 quakes per month, anyone can "predict" that there will be a quake this month. And they don't need fancy charts!
