  • Good to see Eric Stewart from 10CC in there too.

  • lady gaga will BURN IN HELL

  • この歌がポールの歌の中で一番好き♪なんてメロディアスなんでしょう!!

  • wtf does Lady Gaga have to do with Paul McCartney!!!

  • the oohs and ahhs are breathtaking...

  • maverickteen100 is a perfect example of how myopic today's youth is. They are so caught up with the nonmusical politics of their modern music, that if a song isnt about being homosexual and "strong" or being a feminist and being "strong", then its dismissed as old or crap. Sorry real music doesnt need to thump an agenda, kids.

  • ringo on drums

  • linda is pretty

  • I find most of the McCartney stuff post Beatles to be crap (silly love songs, coming up) but this was a good one.

  • @levyjerome What? Have you heard the Flaming Pie, Chaos and Creation, Band on the Run or Ram? Those albums are outstanding.

  • john Hurt is very sexy to me in this video,,

  • being a Beatles fan, a McCartney fan, and a Ringo Star fan, and a professional drummer and engineer for the last 25 years, i have to say that it is NOT all Ringo playing the drums on this recording..this drumming is quite technical and goes against Ringo's brilliant simplicity..Ringo just appears in the video for kicks and plays the simpler parts as he's always brilliantly done through out his career !! it is , in fact, session drummer Steve Gadd, the dude next to Ringo , who plays rest !

  • Great video. Love that they got John Hurt to do this.

  • You know as cool as Lady Gaga is (not that cool really.... haha) she wouldn't even be here if it weren't for people like Paul McCartney. And she'd say that herself - McCartney has passed the test of time, playing for thousands of people for the last 50+ years. Will Gaga play for anyone in 20 years? Who knows.

  • the keyboardist looks like george martin

  • Nice little reunion - of sorts! Got Martin there on the keys too! The only living absentee is Harrison. 1:47 - is that Dustin Hoffman??

  • @Zickcermacity - that's a young John Hurt, of I claudius, naked civil servant, harrp potter and aliens fame

  • @MrJohnSpencer212

UGGGHH!! >smh< Spence, Aspergers is a prison as real as one made of steel and cement. It drives me crazy event though my wife patiently understands. (no one else here thinks he looks a bit like Hoffman?)

  • Nice little reunion - of sorts! Got Martin there on the keys too! The only living absentee is Harrison.

  • Is that brother Michael to the left of Linda? 0:21

  • @Zickcermacity No, it's Eric Stewart, former 10cc member

  • @MrJohnSpencer212

And the dude at 1:47 and at 1:53 - Dustin Hoffman?

I'm already bracing for the NO!!!!'s, I admit, my Aspergers causes me to confuse faces in public too. Sucks!!!

  • one of those truly high-speed on the road songs

  • ジョージ・マーティン、ポール様なんとゆう素晴らしきサックスアレンジなんですか!"TAKE IT AWAY"、リンゴとガッド世界一のドラムス~最高のその上曲

  • Why was Paul motioning into the control room at 1:40? And why did Ringo react that way?

  • GENIUS. McCartney, thanks Paul.

  • my mate was an extra in this video, infact he got me into McCartney, I loved his Wings stuff first, but THEN I got into the Beatles..... Afterwords !.

  • Paul McCartney, makes me happy. I sure hope he has happiness with his new wedding comeing up, I simply adore the man!

  • Hotty McHotty Pants!!!

  • Sir Macca!

  • His wife is really beautiful. Fucking love his music as well

  • The beginning with Ringo's picture and then Ringo on the drums was the besttt!

  • Hey! That's John Hurt!

  • @paulb1988 I think it's Ian McKellen

  • @5150quintis It's John Hurt.

  • Oh, Ringo is shaking his head like in early Beatles times, completely adorable, wanna eat him up <3

  • feel good music

  • This song and video is just another example of the fact that Sir Paul McCartney is a musical genius.

  • Many radio and Tv programs used the end of this song as a musical curtain

  • They are really artists!!!! Santiago Argentina

  • I really wished Paul and George Martin had worked together more often. This is an absolutely wonderful song.

  • That woman at 1:19 is good looking. I can bet she is from England and has that nice accent that I can listen to all day

  • @MrAxeEdent, yes, she is VERY good looking!

  • Bravo Zulu !!

  • This is a fucking genius tune, Macca we salute you.

  • Forgot about this one! Great song...well, all of his songs are great!! :)

  • I have to laugh at Steve Gadd (Drummer to the Stars) looking at Ringo for how to play the intro....

  • John Hurt FOR THE WIN!!!

  • What a fun song to listen to! I love it!

  • 1981...i borrowed this album on cassette tape from a friend and never returned it...i lost it 8 years ago though...one of the greatest, most listened album i ever had....Paul mc cartney is one of the few remaining living legends on earth.

  • Yep...It's Ollivander!!!!!

  • Is that John Hurt in this video???

  • @dspencer11 I thought it was Ian McKellen

  • Doesn't the electrician at the beginning of the video look like Ian Stewart from the Rolling Stones? The Epstein-like imppressario looks like John Hurt. How did they make George M., Ringo and Paul look so youthful at the beginning of the video?

  • Doesn't the electrician at the beginning of the viodeo look like Ian Stewart from the Rolling Stones? The Epstein-like imppressario looks like John Hurt. How did they make George M., Ringo and Paul look so youthful at the beginning of the video?

  • lord...what an underated GEM of a song...the piano, the horns, it is a timeless classic...

  • Uh John Hurt is there

  • Macca hit #10 in Billboard, 8-21-82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Ringo is hot.

  • Completely forgot about this song..thanks for posting

  • Look at Ringo drumming like its 1964 all over again :)

  • To people who respect music like those who said well of my comments, I mostly respect the generations who like this real music (and the music of course), for those who respect the golden age of music (1940's-1980's) you make me feel glad that I'm not the only one who respects the music that will soon be forgoten (unless you pass it on to the newer generation). Thank you!

  • Good to see John Hurt got over his Alien chestburster bout. Nasty!

  • Are we witnessing the death of musicianship in popular music ? I have to wonder if ppl will write the same things about the Beiber and his ilk 30 years from now.

  • 2:31 2:44 sexy:B

  • george martin XD

  • decadas que no la escuchaba gran cancion

  • 5 people don't know how to take it away. I do, and I took it.

  • How wonderful that Ringo could be Paul's very special guest.

  • @TheBBQPope you are awesome...

  • wow amazing chorus! kind of surprising

  • 5 idiots

  • Ringo and gadd! amazing!

  • How good to know that the beauty of his songs and his physical beauty is just a reflection of the beauty of his soul, HE SHOWN US IN EVERY DETAIL IN MY COUNTRY PERU, HE IS REALLY REALLY GREAT!! I DEVOTE HIM

  • I know what everyone out there is thinking: "Is that Steve Gadd on drums?" @ :13 next to Ringo? Yes it is.

  • @drumdude1000 lol actually I was thinking about the older fellow in the closet fixing something looks alot like R Lee Emery ,the SGT from full metal jacket..

  • Even if you didn't see him, you can tell Ringo's drumming. It just sounds like his playing.

  • I miss you Linda

  • Had no idea this one existed - I LIIIKES IT!!!!!!

  • Paul was the writer, John was the dreamer. Both were the best.

  • Really, only half of The Beatles broke up. Ringo and Paul stayed together!!!

  • whos the guy on the tambourine in drag?

  • ringo who?

  • Well done, Paul !

  • Good to see Steve Gadd playing next to Ringo.

  • Actor John Hurt played Brian Epstein on this video.

  • are you in a Beatles fan club? You should be-you need to share this with Beatle fans!

  • @TheDorr71 I know dude. Paul would have been nothing without John and maybe vice versa. OK maybe Paul was the more musically gifted but John was an ikon and talisman for his generation, I just find it very sad that there is so much bickering about a partnership that had so much genious and it is very sad that JL is gone so we will never know what they might have acheived in a reunion. The best songwriting team we will ever likely to see in pop music :(

  • @steveevh1 definatly, john had that crazy inspiration and paul knew music

  • Why can't people respect this music instead of Lady GaGa and Justin Beiber, their music sucks! Why can't it be like it used to be? Where did it all go? Thats what I want to know. I maybe a 90's child, but still I love this music just as my parents did.

Thumbs up if you agree, for the sake of music!

  • @WIZKID8675 Amen.Ain't it the truth?

  • @WIZKID8675 Good music trancends era. I am a 45 year old fart but I love all genres of music from all eras. Hey man Take That are knocking out some good songs now. Saw Spandau Ballet in Dubai a few months ago - they were superb and blew the main act (Rod Stewart) away. Think he was just there for a big payday. Think Spands were so happy to be back together again. They had the great songs from the 80's and were excellent. Love Macca but very sad that he will never work with John again :(

  • This version (audio wise) is much better that the so called "remastered"... Much more warmer... yet real clear.... George Martin style, obviously.

  • Poor John Hurt. Oblivious to the nasty alien growing inside him.

  • @aimtrue45 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!...Bishop...R.I.P.

  • @yarekhunt Kane actually...Bishop was in the sequel...

  • Love Macca's bass playing and bass sound on this album. Some of his best bass playing ever me thinks. I still own a Yamaha BB-Series bass exactly like this one too.

    Had it since '83!

  • Cheers dude

  • @audesemusic Yes Buddy Holly was a hero of Sir Paul as well as Little Richard. Paul sang a fabulous version of "I'm Down". Just such a genious he is. The mid section is very Billy Joel. Paul is the master I wish that people would not slag him off compared with John it is not fair. They were both an incredible talent - do you cry more when you listen to "Yesterday" and "The long and Winding Road" or does "Across the Universe" and "Imagine" float your boat. It not fair to compare, both brilliant

  • @steveevh1 Agree with you 100%,but as we know, they always competed with each other. That made their music even more special.

  • Cheers!

  • That was John Hurt.

  • Great days when Mccartney had a magical touch, though his insistence on trying to maintain his Beatle image at nearly 70 is with respect ill advised.

  • Paul and Linda's harmonies together were absolutely gorgeous.

  • Killer bass as always with Paul. Best bass player ever!

  • Great song from start to finish, but i love the ending where the sax comes in and the chorus is all "Ahhhh Ahhh ahhh" ing. Beautiful!

  • I love this song.

  • This song is infectious , It sticks in your Brain absolutely brilliant , Macca at his very Best

  • Also Steve Gadd in the back there.

  • Why can't people respect this music instead of Lady GaGa and Justin Beiber, their music sucks! Why cant it be like it used to be? Where did it all go? Thats what I want to know. I maybe a 90's child, but still I love this music just as my parents did.

Thumbs up if you agree, for the sake of music!

  • @WIZKID8675 10 years ago it would be britney spears and n'sync that were referenced, before that the new kids on the block and boys II men, before that menudo and leif garrett, before that the monkees.... come on. there have always been pop bands, and paul mccartney and the beatles were considered one of those pop bands at first (even though they were a lot more talented.)

  • @WIZKID8675 Amen.u r wise beyond ur years.

  • @WIZKID8675 couldn't agree with you more!

  • @WIZKID8675 Um I'll let you know Ladygaga is an inspiration to a bunch of people. Theres a future coming ,so people are going to waiste their time listening to this old 80's crap.

  • @Maverickteen100 Lady Gaga is an inspiration to the uninspired.

  • @Maverickteen100 so u come to this video and call it old 80s crap. ur a troll.

  • @iamobeliskquake Nope I'm not a troll someone shared this video with me.

  • @Maverickteen100 u say that Lady gaga is an inspiration. yet u insult Paul. guess what Freddie Mercury and John Lennon are her inspiration. John and Paul are both Beatles. So saying that Paul is crap would in turn say that Lady Gaga is crap.

  • @Maverickteen100 ur kinda wrong there. If you look in the Guiness Book of World Records it states that Paul McCartney is the most successful person in music and he wrote the most covered songs. Also, Lady Gaga would care because The Beatles inspired her. Paul can play over 25 instruments kid while she can only play the piano(he can play that too)

  • @iamobeliskquake Indeed. The only time Lady Gaga impressed anyone was on "Epic Rap Battlesof History".

  • @iamobeliskquake how dare you mention lady gaga in the same paragraph as paul mc cartney.

biebers more sucessful than gag a anyway.

  • @Maverickteen100 ha just for saying that... you're going to hell's hell.

  • @Maverickteen100 I love that your comment has received so many negative votes that it doesn't even appear in the comments listing anymore. Maverickteen100 - You don't get it!!! Lady Gaga vs. Paul McCartney. Are you kidding?!! Do you even have a clue what this man did not just for rock'n'roll but popular music in general. You don't have to like his music but you better respect the man!!

  • @Maverickteen100 I love that your comment has received so many negative votes that it doesn't even appear in the comments listing anymore. Maverickteen100 - You don't get it!!! • @depedro9119, Lady Gaga does have some talent but comparing her as an artist to Paul is, well, absurd. She is not in his league but that really isn't a put down of her as not many people are in Paul's league. It is amazing that younger people, and I assume this person who compare Gaga's talent to Paul's is young, think that anything that is older than last year has no relevance.

  • @Maverickteen100 dude! i'm fckn 15 years ols, i've got al 80 crap lp's and an lp player ! i love the beatles and paul mccartney , so fu , mady kaka sucks , thats no music, thats pc!

  • @rsmaniac100 Kk

  • @WIZKID8675 I agree 100% but people conform to the negativity in society, hence Lady GagMe, etc

  • @WIZKID8675 "Why can't people respect the music I claim to be good? They're stupid for not having the same opinions as I!"

That. That's what you sound like.

  • @justmyopinionbro If you dont like this. Fine, then go listen your Justin Beiber and Lady GaGa music see what I care, you just dont respect real music.

P.S this is not the only good piece of music to listen to (thank goodness).

  • @WIZKID8675 Go look up 'false dichotomy'. In no way did I mention any music I like or dislike. Guess what? I came here because I like this. That doesn't mean I'll let a moronic comment slide. People have different tastes, and suggesting you can make objective statements based on people's opinions make you sound unbearably ignorant and arrogant. That and suggesting that the only modern music in existence is shitty top 40 makes me pity you for not seeing the shitload of great art around today.

  • @justmyopinionbro Ok I apologise its just that I received a bunch of nasty responses to my comments recently (the responses all sound the same anyway). Plus the fact that some more modern songs dont make sense. For example, a music "artist's" idea of a song is this sentence "around the world" over and over again, and that was popular? I dont understand why it should be at all.

P.S I dont all modern songs are terrible.

  • Love it!I was actually in the audience in the video!

  • the beartles were pioneers of progg and psychedelia, from 1966 onwards. take it waway and say say are shameful and are recorded for cash. Many like the Beegees, david Bowie and Cher changed and turn pop crap.

  • Starting at 3:19 until fade out, LOVE the signature Wings chorus, best part of the song IMO.

  • Just a great video that brings back memories. Thanks!

  • I use to watch the Beatles cartoons on Sundays. Great memories.

  • His album Tug Of War hit #1 on the album charts.

  • and Paul looks soooo cute at around 2:37 with the suspenders and the rolled up sleeves. I just wanna hug him <3

  • I love Ringo's look in this

  • this a diso ppp song , shame

  • @MrAugustus88 - Um, its a shame that Paul McCartney wrote a pop song?? Most of his catalog is pop...

  • April 24 1976! When Loren Michaels made the offer for Beatles to reunite. Just sing 3 Beatles tunes!

  • The band that should have gotten back together. THE BEATLES!!!!!! Loren Michaels of SNL offer them 3 thousand dollars. They could even give Ringo less! lol

  • Too bad the aspect ratio is screwed up.

  • Queen also did i want to break free in this house

  • Always loved this song!

  • i think it is really funny that Ringo is in this song!!

  • 3 beautiful bass guitars played in this video by the one and only sir paul the hofner the rickenbacker and the yamaha bb great video bit of funpoked at himself and that clown ringo

  • Ringo, George Martin and John Hurt, Paul's Hofner and Rick basses...great!

  • This song kind of resembles an upbeat version to Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" and I take that as a good thing

  • @Doobie1975 Yes you are right the chord sequence is very Billy Joel like. Paul was influenced by him in the mid 70's to early 80's. Nothing wrong with that they are both brilliant. A lot of Major 7th chords descending to minor 7ths. Check out my chord explanation on the other version of this on You tube

  • I was 15 when this song came out. Totally gives me the chills and I can't stop playing it. Reminds me of my old girlfriend too! Time for facebook to find her next. Peace out.

  • Paul´s moves are so fuc*ing sexies!!!!

  • What a great song, one of my favourites by McCartney. And Steve Gadd does rock.

  • Reminds me of his horrible movie that was full of great music.

  • Lonely Driver Out On The Road With A Hundred Miles To Go Sole Survivor Carrying The Load Switches On His Radio (that part is sheer brilliance)

  • video is about a band/song making it. starts out with band playing in living room, moving to radio station, being discovered by an agent who hears the song on radio, who then checks out the band now playing before a large audience; then band signs a record contract

  • @GOLDENGAMINGNETWORKx I never thought about that, you're right! It's the beginnng of a band, the driver is the roadie, the sole survivor could mean paul, the only former Beatle in Wings. I think this song could be about Paul's band Wings

  • What is the video about? I love the song, but I am not understanding the video.

  • My favorite mccartney song that was in the 80's.

  • a very underated paul mccartney song sheer brilliance

  • This had a great bass riff! He played it on his Yamaha bass which he only used for a short time in the early 80's (the "sunburst" colored bass later in the video).

  • RIngo moves his head like Beatles' time!

  • @TashTrinka My exact thoughts (: And still to this day he does that same thing and i LOVE him for it and of course i LOVE Paul too!!

  • @TashTrinka - I dont agree... Just because Lady Gaga and Justic Bieber are huge, doesnt mean that there is equally good music coming out every day. its just that you have to look harder for it

  • What a blast from the past seeing this gem all over again. I just heard it on the radio & I had to see if the original music video was here. I remember it in the early days of MTV, they used to play it a lot. Such great memories. I remember being intrigued by the format from the start, a great tune, seeing the musicians perform it & a directed story to boot. It's cool to see a young John Hurt cameo. Even in the few shots he was in, he delivered a great performance. I haven't seen this in years.

  • Another great one from Paul.

  • I don't understand why this song wasn't as popular as "Ebony and Ivory" was, while "Ebony and Ivory" was a good song I personally liked this song more, this song is definitely one of Paul's most underrated songs
