Thank-you , for giving so right Information !!! Very few people know it .. It has been wonderful to see it posted here .Thank-you !! Also , the train , was the main mode of transferring the Ore from Cyprus Anvil Mine in Faro Yukon , via WhitePass Trucking , to Whitehorse & then loaded onto the Train for Skagway & aboard Ships , that took it all over the World.. This Train on her narrow gauge was a very important part of the North !!! .. Thanks for reminding :)
Just want to say my little grandson and I have watched this video over and over and over since his other grandma sent us the link. He is a train lover and I have to say that as many times as I have now watched this video, over probably almost 2 years, I have never gotten tired of watching it with him.
@TatteredFox thats awsome i got started with trains as soon as i was born i live right on the railroad and never get tired of it right now im trying to pursue my dream to be a train engineer hopefully he will do the same ill send him a video of the train that goes by my house if he would like for me to.
JGMagoo that rotary pictured is still on the WP not in Breckenridge. The WP had two or three rotarys. The rotary in Breck is a WP rotary and is a sister to the one pictured in the video. There were also two C&S rotarys that served Breck. One was used on the Leadville Climax line until some idiot pushed it off the tail end of the Leadville wye and it was cut up for scrap. The other one served the standard gauge after the close of the south park ng division and now resides at the crrm.
The actual rotary snow plow shown in in this video is on display in a park in Breckenridge, Colorado. It is the twin to the one that supplied the mountain town of Breckenridge over Boreas Pass from 1868 untill 1937. Sadly, the original one that served Breckenridge was melted down as scrap in the scrap drives of WWII.
One of the engineering marvels of the world, in the same ranking with the Eiffel Tower. This is the little train that could; in 1955, the then president of the railroad, Frank Brown, and his think tank, developed the concept of "unitized freight" known today as the shipping container. So look at powerpointpete's video one more time and realize you're looking at the thing that changed the course of history of the entire earth. Back from bankruptcy in WW2 to ship uranium for the atomic bomb.
i have been in the eiffel tower and is nothing amazing go to the top of it is a waste of time, i spent hours climbing because of the crowds of people wanting to go up, well if you go to paris it would be better to go to the museum of Luv, but this train looks nicer than the eiffel tower
i rode this railway
