I actually want him to stay right where he is, to bad montana has a two term policy now. Regardless I expect great things from this guy. He actually brings brains with his persona. Not many politicians have that. It's usually one or the other.......let me rephrase.....logic and persona.
Meh, biofuels are just another way to try to hide from the problem, but like others have said, at least he's acknowledging that there is a problem that needs fixing, which is a start. And of course, no one is going to get elected to major office in America by saying "hey folks, you're going to have to cut back on your incredibly wasteful lifestyles, and no amount of biofuels or wars are going to let you avoid that for much longer." We really hate giving up anything, no matter what.
I just saw another interview with him in which he was very clear that biofuels could not be the only answer, so don't take his answer regarding that as a ringing endorsement for taking away from American agricultural food production.
One of the reasons he specifically mentioned camolina was because it's something that can grow well in poorer soil, thereby avoiding the dilemma of starving people to feed our need for oil.
Schweitzer *knows* energy policy, and is dead right on the subject.
This is the first I've seen of him, but I really like this guy! If he can explain every issue this well, he should be VP! All the undecideds would be like "I just don't think Obama has any REAL ideas" and then this guy would walk in and drop the science on them, Bill Nye style.
Save that biofuels are inherently a bad idea, at least he's thinking - and that's quite the rarity in politics. I'd be interested in an Obama-Schweitzer ticket.

There should never be oil men in the white house. Obama/Schweizer could be a good match.
