2:16-2:29 "...going to stand for individuals making their own decisions..."
I find it moderately amusing that the Republicans are talking about standing for individuals, when they are usually the "stand with the moral majority and screw all the individuals" party.
More often than not they stand for Christian native-born Americans (which happens to be the majority), and shun everybody else.
BTW, did you see how hair-trigger automatic their responses were? They don't accept individuals at all!
But that's ALL IT IS, 'lip service'. Bastards don't know a good deal even when it's shouted into their faces. Hell, I don't even agree with many of his propositions and even I know he is the only one really out there who can *invigorate* this party.
Otherwise they're just going to rot, as this video shows.
as painful as it sounds, it's a fun exercise to try to pick the least evil person from among them.
my vote is for michael steele. he relies less on the classic rural vs. urban cultural warfare issues and has hints of reason following his distorted ideas.
the future is a mixture of ron paul supporters who are a bit more socially accepting of different lifestyles, elasticities, not rabidly religious, and are willing to work with different customs..
the answer to our social programs is capitalism.. a school choice system, a medical voucher program that is heavily regulated, and even a police department that can be fired by popular vote
I'm more strongly aligned with the democratic party, but I'm just wondering; if these people are so concerned about the future of the conservative party, why don't they just choose Ron Paul as thier leader. He's the only republican that I can think of that inspires young people to get involved.
Besides the fact the vast majority of the electorate think he's a whack job, Paul's a republican in name only. This simplistic belief system sounds awesome until you think of how cruel a place the USA would be under Paul's vision. The notion of "fairness" for Paulists has a lot to do with the fact most of y'all weren't born behind the 8ball, received good educations, and think you're self made. Everything he proposes sounds great until you think about reality.
I completley agree with you on the need for Paul to rethink some of his ideas, but I wasn't proposing he be elected the party's leader because of his policy. The Republican party is in the awkward position of not appealing to a wider electorate, while any attempts at doing so would disingage their base. Ron Paul as a figure head, in the role of Chair of the RNC would at least atract some people to their attempts at renewing the party, while keeping their current base engaged. What do you think?
Interesting points tri, personally, I find watching the GOP implode to be glorious, in a righteously sadistic sort of way. I think the GOP, as currently constituted, is a strange beast. The true conservatives, who I respect, like Ron Paul or George Will, are lashed to religious extremists who believe in the end times, direct divine intervention, hating gays, ie nonsense.
Ron Paul wouldn't sacrifice his principles to schill for the GOP, and for that, I salute him.
Eisenhower was a moderate who kept most of the New Deal policies in place, and spoke out against preventive warfare. This election will be decided mostly by thoses who consider themselves "conservative". Among this group Reagan far outshines Eisenhower.
When people speak to you about a preventive war, you tell them to go and fight
it. After my experience, I have come to hate war. War settles nothing.
I like how they talk about Ron Paul like he some kind of disease they don't want to be associated but kind of have to be because of his popularity when in actuality they should all model themselves after him.
Indeed, they may be Republicans but are not conservative... The irony is if more Republicans were conservative like Ron Paul they might actually stand a chance.
and The Titanic six-member band had assembled in the first-class lounge in an effort to keep passengers calm and upbeat continued playing music even when it became apparent the ship was going to sink...
Is there any further proof needed to show how lame and 'idea-less' Republicans are? They keep invoking Reagan. If they stopped for just one moment to realize that they haven't changed since Reagan maybe they'd get somewhere.
I'm sure they will elect Cow Chip as their leader, and the GOP will continue its slippery slide into the trash heap of history, all to the greater benefit of mankind.
That is why they lost! A bunch of old men talking about guns, dead presidents and nothing about jobs and the future! Looing to the past in order to see the future. They don't get it! The post 911 world is different people are holding on to their money while waving their jobs good bye.
Republicans want you to be free and Democrats want to dictate to you. Republicans want you to be so free that they are willing to do away with all of your civil liberties so they can kill the people who hate us for our freedom.

They all treated Ron Paul like crap during the campaign.
They STOLE properly-elected delegates from Ron Paul in Nevada & other states & now they want Ron Paul supporters to vote for their crap.
I was a delegate to our state GOP Convention, (for RP) but these GOP Candidates only wanna represent lobbyist & their special interests.
SICKENING!

They all answered the question incorrectly. The greatest Republican President of all time was Abraham Lincoln.
The party will continue to decline until they figure that, hey, a lot of people don't like Ronald Regan.
