IF there is a key change, it's a shitty truck-driver's key change moving a step up usually. Say what you will about the lyrics and the instrumentation, but on a theory level it's the same shit. Not that I expect a green day fan to know what half of what i just said means...

@StewieSwan Actually, I'm a first chair musician and a guitarist who plays a LOT of GD...I know what you're talking about. Now, your "complex music theory" is not at all complicated. It's true GD uses the 3 chord punk structure, Bieber sometimes does, not all the time. Secondly, many, MANY of Green Day's songs are NOT in 4/4 time. In many of their albums, GD strays out of the typical "verse-chorus-verse-bridge-out­ro" structure, which Bieber NEVER does. There is a significant musical difference.
