  • You can turn your printer wireless by installing the new driver from its site( the first driver download you see is what you need.) connect it to the airport then go search a video on YouTube about this because it's too much instructions. I turned my Lexmark 2600 wireless by using an airport extreme

  • Its unplug... not plugged it out

  • how did you get your video icon to be something that's not even in the video??

  • STOP SAYING HUMMMMMM

  • Warning this device is extremely slow, it slows down your internet connection its horrible waste of money.

  • Can I do this.. Leave me Cisco router downstairs, plug the airport express into my bedroom and then plug my PS3 into the Airport express via ethernet. Can the Express connect to my router wireless without connecting it by ethernet?

  • @TheAviator789 yea connect to the router wirelessly then use for laptop and i think, you can then plug in ure ps3

  • so basically to get wifi you just plug it into the wall? and you dont need to attach any wires and stuff?!

  • @kiimyxo just an ethernet cord!

  • @kiimyxo Well obviously you have to connect it via ethernet to your modem to connect to the internet, but other than that no wires are required.

  • what are the different between airport express 802.11 b/g and

    airport express 802.11 n

  • Comment removed

  • if i already have a wireless router and buy the express, do i just plug an ethernet cable into the express and turn off the wireless feature on my router?

    Thanks for any help :)

  • is there any cheaper way which i can plug speakers into a similar device to stream music wirelessly?

  • I don't like the fact that you can only connect it to other apple device generated wireless networks.

  • to use it for the my home speakers only, do need to have the airport connected to the internet mordem?

  • @thimosofos100100 yes u can

  • @boldziga and how i will make airport express configuration-set up?How to communicate with my PC?From my wired router and drive disc?I think it is difficult.Tell me if you know my friend...

  • @thimosofos100100 in your original comment, I don't really get what you are saying, tell me your set up.

here is what the thing can do.

say you have a time capusle or Airport extreme, connected to a modem, the extreme will broadcast to ur new express, the express will then pick it up, and if you tell it to, it will connect to the extreme. It will just extend it.

  • @boldziga I don't have Time capusle or Airport extreme.I have a router which is called FritsBox(no matter),and it's wired not wireless.I want to link Airport express with my wired router, but i don't know how to set up the Airpot express because where i will see that?On my computer screen? Will not contact me after my PC has no wireless connection.:-> ™

  • @thimosofos100100 i know what a fritsbox is, you have to download airport utility for windows, google it and download it. Once youve done that, connect your airport express to your computer via ethernet, launch airport utility, and click on set up or something like that, and if it asks you to create a wireless network, click that, and it will ask you to put the SSID (name) in and then put a password in (if any) then click next and then unplug ur ethernet cable from your computer and plug it into

  • @thimosofos100100 in case you didnt get my last reply, sorry , plug in your AE into your box modem thing and then itll be all good with wireless..

  • is the ethernet slot compatible for wired xbox live?

  • can you also plug in a hard drive on the airport express in the usb2.0?

  • @PinoDeNerd No, that only works with a printer unfortunately.

  • If I have this at my parents house to extend network am I still able to take it back to my dorm room and use it as my main network with my Internet connection with little hassle?

  • @MrJoso5 No.

  • You need Bonjour if you are on windows for USB printers

  • will it work with apple extreme base station or do i not need it?

  • would i be able to use this with a linksys cisco e3000 to extend my netwok

  • then whats the usb port for then?

  • This thing is the easiest wifi to set up even if u r technologically challenged. Of course a MacBook Pro and an ipad with this is a dream setup!

  • Do you gies wonder why other wireless people don't have ones this small?

  • Can you take it to a house that doesn't have internet

  • @rozzalenda123 wha?...

  • any EMI from being right next to the power outlet?

  • so you can use this by itself as a router?

  • @20zCashMonster yes, as long as you have a wall ethernet outlet that you can plug the AP Express into

  • @laxplayer1199 could I plug it into a Modem?

  • Soo U Get Wirerless For The Ipod Touch And What Does It Show Up As Like For WIFI Like A Router Username Like Linksys

  • To connect the AirPort Express to a speaker, do you only need an auxiliary cord?

  • so could you use this like on the road for ur ipad

  • How can I hook tis up with my bose speaker?

    plz help!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • @paddlemee

connect it with 3,5mm to airport express and install it

  • Comment removed

  • Poor video. Too much talking. Advice would be to talk through the installation & loading as you go.

  • Stfu bitch

  • @Bananas138 u jelly?

  • do you have to pay monthly internet fees with this?

  • can you play on xbox live well? i have a pc

  • can you play on xbox live well?

  • i know this is stupid and you probly get this question all the time but is it one of those things were you just plug it in to the wall and BOOM you have wifi or do you have to pay for it or do you have to plug your enternet poet in it or wat lol PLZ RESPOND SOMEBODY

  • so wait if you unplug it can it still be used?

also does it work in one room or in a full two story house or a two/one bed room apartment?

  • Nice review! Thanks!

  • you don't need to have a wireless printer to print wirelessly with this. just plug the printer in through the USB port. got mine working easy, you just have to turn on bonjour in the airport utility.

  • HI i have a question. for what can I use USB port? Please answer

  • @woleksy1997 the usb can be used for wireless printing if your printer has a usb port, you just plug the printer into the usb on the airport express and set it up.

  • Ummm your printer doesn't have to support network printing. You'd just plug your printer into the usb hub on the airport express. Derrrrrp

  • @787Matatan correction = wi-fi internet and yes i think 9 of the 10 times you'll get accessible wi-fi routers

  • so lets say i dont have wifi and i use an usb cabel on it will it give me wifi acces

and will that wifi acces be bigger like as big as a'n airport

  • @mrjameshid lol, no

  • So let's say I go to place where theres no wifi...I just plug it in and I'll get wifi from it?...

  • @Bananas138 lol, no

  • I see a lot of confused people.

No guys, this is not a PORTABLE internet creator, this thing has a plug, you have to plug it into the electric plug of your house (or anywhere you are) to turn it on, then you have to plug an ethernet cable that goes from the airport to the modem, AND an ethernet cable that goes from the modem to your device, desktop or laptop, in this way, not only your basic connection will be faster, but the airport will CREATE a wi-fi connection for and everyone else you want

  • is there any hack to enable the usb to read HDD?

  • hey buddy this dhaval...i m on ma way to buy airport express,,,,the thing is that i want to connect i-pad directly to my home audio system.....so is it possible to connect wit that....directly means there should be no laptop or pc connectvity in btw ( no remote acces)... it should be done wirelessly...and directly through ape....is it possibe??????

  • Can I use this while traveling?

  • do you have to pay monthly fees for this? and no matter where you go you will have an internet connection?

  • Comment removed

  • Can you use it in a hotel and connect it to an iPod Touch?

  • so JUst to make sure" If i have lets say a weak signal of wireless"..... soo i jus plug this in and it ll extend the wifi torwards the airport express"?right and better signal for me"

  • where does the other end of the ethernet cable connect to??

  • do you have to have a ethernet cord in the express or can it be fully wireless like no cord connected to it

  • @thehalowinner to extend, it can be wireless.

  • Nice, but I take it this is mainly compatible with computer products (laptops, printers...etc)...yes? If that's the case, the other routers (d-link, belkins...etc) would seem to be more multifunctional in comparison since they can also connect items like a gaming consoles. Regardless, I can definitely see where this would be more advantageous otherwise.

  • Hey, nice video... I had a question.. I have a wired DSL network at my home...

Now... I can connect the DSL connection to the Ethernet port in the airport express and then I will be able to use the Internet wirelessly... right???

Other question is that... if i can use the internet without wires... using the airport... will I be able to get the exact same speed what I get when my DSL is connect directly to my Mac...???? Please answer...

  • @MasterPreview Yes, it will make it wireless. The speed may be slightly lower, but not much if at all.

  • i meant will the airport express work with the imac???

  • the airport express will work with the ipad right?

  • I really need a reply,

How about if the source of the internet is in a form of USB not in cable. Will it work?

  • How fast is it? How many Mbps? Please write back.

  • so u need like linksys to use. or it gives internet free. i dont get it. help!!!!

  • im new to apple computers and will be buying one sooon. :) bt i HAVE a question. I already have a router by BELKIN in my room. Do you NEED this AIRPORT EXPRESS to be able to get ONLINE? or can I stil use my BELKIN router?

  • @djheartbrake You can still use your Belkin router.

  • If my car has a plug outlet in it, can i plug this in my car and drive distances with wifi? like ride in the car using the internet?

  • @LittleRedHead7 You can't just plug it in and get Internet. It has to be connected to a modem or existing wireless network.

  • so let me try and get this straight. you would only need those blue cords that plug from your laptop to the Airport Express to get your internet or can you just plug the airport express into the walls with no cords attached and your laptop can have wireless internet? or am i missing something, please help im so confused im not sure to get express or extreme. all im using the wifi for would to be in my room our my beach house or maybe a friends. I dont need anything special i just need wifi

  • Will Airport Express do me any good considering my house is above two stories and I want it for better wireless Internet in my room which is upstairs for like my iPhone and PS3, etc? My modem is like downstairs directly below my room I believe. Should Airport Express be able to do the job fine? I hate having one bar of Wi-fi!

  • @GuitarPunk95 i have the airport extreme and it does a awesome job!!! the airport express should do the job!!! remember its apple!!!

  • Time Capsule Starts at $299

  • this has way to many problems

  • so what does it do capture beter internet signel

  • Comment removed

  • so say i went on a trip and the hotel didnt have wireless. i plug this thing into the wall and now i do have internet?

  • @italiankid14 no you italian dumb shit. you can't just connect to internet out of nowhere just cuz of a device u cocksucker

  • @robert09501 and here is your typical youtube jackass :) have fun suckin dick on runescape. get a life.

  • I have had it for a few weeks now, and I have no problems with it whatsoever.

It never heats up, It works as a "booster" for my network, and It's compatible for my xbox 360. And it has great features, the one that I like the most is AirTunes.

I have to disagree when you said that the only disadvantage was the only ethernet port. I find it quite useful, I mean it was design to be portable, and not for a long range.

    Good Video!

  • Comment removed

  • do u have to plug it in to your wall with a ethernet cable or just have to plug in the power and internet is wireless to the air port express

  • have the AirPort Extreme... after going through WAY to many frustrating processes with setting up my Linksys N router... this solved all my problems

  • Thanks

  • this can be like a modem?? i dont know exactly what it is

  • you keep saying 'airport extreme' when you mean 'airport express'

  • hey do you know if i can plug my xbox directly into this puppy?

  • so with this express i can just plug in my speakers and it will work wirelessly..just wondering if the extreme can do that as well...plugging your speakers in.,.

  • does this need a modem ???

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't give you free internet access. You still have to pay the hotel for that.

  • i will buy this product, so amazing, and its speed is way,way fast

  • Im thinking of buying one because my main router does not have a USB Port, I can't find any Ethernet to USB connectors so I might be buying this for wireless printing, I would buy a Time Capsule but I heard some really bad reviews.

  • what about heat problems, does it heat up when left on for extended period of time? like say 1 week or 2 days left on?

  • nope, not at all. All good

  • @AppleGenius0921 It doesn't heat up at all, or maybe a little.

    But it's not that bad.

  • the thing is, i have an ipod touch, and i want to have wifi to surf the web .Does this product works?

  • Hey i am getting a macbook pro 13'' in summer. i have a dekstop pc with a wireless modem so do i need airport or sumthing like that to connect to use it with my macbook pro 13'' ???????? (wirelessly) ?

  • I have no idea. I mostly want this for my iPhone. And how could I get it in the middle? I thought it needs to be plugged in to the ethernet. The ideal for me would be to have this in my room to have to have the best possible signal.

  • Okay, maybe you can help me. My wireless router is downstairs and the signal in my room is complete crap. I was wondering if I could use this to boost my signal in my room. I don't really get how this works. Thanks.

  • @bubba102893

Don't worry about the 802.11 n/b/g/a this is backwards compatible. Anyway, you don't have to plug it in.

Since you have a wireless router you can just plug the AirPort Express anywhere you have a decent signal and it'll repeat/extend the range, but you'll have to configure it if you don't have an AirPort Extreme Base Station.

  • @bubba102893 if you want to extend the range of your wireless router, just plug in your mac/PC (mac is easier to set it up) and you have to configure it to take on the network, expanding and putting more power to it simultaniously. its pretty easy... just make sure you have the special software insalled to it can work right.

  • I want to replace my netgear Router with one of these. So would I simply plug my LAN/Phone cable into the port and THen configure it with my pc or mac and that would be my home broadband set up???

  • i dont think it works as a router i just thought it extended existing range

  • will it connect 2 my ps3 and itouch?

  • yes u can hard wire your ps3 or use wifi watever

  • have you tried plugging in an USB hub into the USB input on the bottom and getting multiple USB printers to work

  • wait i dont understand what this does....

its like an internet extender or something?

    ...?

  • Yes, it somewhat is. It can extend your current network, or can just act as a normal router.

  • @AppleGenius0921

plug ex. HD or printer, u can make 3,5mm speaker and remote control with ipad od iphone, so on....

  • @LJM2stepspain It works as an extender or a router.

  • will it connect to my PS3 wirelesly ?

  • Depends

It will only connect to your PS3 if your PS3 has wireless capability,.

  • It should...since a PS3 can connect wirelessly

  • Great video young man, very informative.

  • Thank You

  • do you know if i will be able to play ps3 online wirelessly ??

  • It should

  • it works!!

  • @MrM0j0Risin27 I have ps3 and this router with no problem :)

  • @THEABC123DUMBIE yeah! I bought one and it works fine!

  • @MrM0j0Risin27 full bars ON Cod

  • @MrM0j0Risin27 yeah you will, I use it for my 360

  • @MrM0j0Risin27 it does have all full bar no lag since mw2

  • @MrM0j0Risin27 Yes man, I have an airport extreme (same technology, just faster) and I play online with my PS3 at a perfect speed.

  • I dont understand exactly what this does.

Lets say I am going to travel to europe soon and I choose to go to a motel, and plug this on the wall outlet in that motel in europe, so whats going to happen? I am going to have wifi connection with a strong signal and be able to connect my iPod Touch to this wifi signal? Or do I need a laptop??? How does this works???

  • @TSIFull No, you are right. As long as you have an internet connection (ethernet), you just need the Airport and maybe a computer if you want to configure its name and such.

  • does it works with my blackberry curve?

  • Yes it can, as long as the phone has a Wi-Fi capability.

  • great. thanks

  • can u plug a Ethernet cord into it and connect to your desktop computer, to get internet? my desktop doesn't have wifi.

  • well its speed (802.11n) is the fastest wireless you can get so it really depends on your current router if it would improve your speed,

he however meant that it can be used as a wireless bridge an example of this is if you have a wireless network in your house that does not reach your backyard ... you just need to plug the express into a point that is close to your backyard that stil has a wireless signal .. extending your signal throughout your backyard. .. or bedroom ..or wherever

  • majority rubbish this doesn't support HD's..its like the one thing you'd want it to do.

you know thats not "ok" and you sounds pissed about it..

  • oh yeah..good review man . nice 1

  • hmm, why would one need want your " own wireless network " at your friends house ? I mean , if they have wireless surely you could just jump on that ?

and hows this gonna connect to the web if hthey wont let you ...and if they wont they aint your friend so uh , why do you need this again , cept for printer sharing ...It wont accept a USB drive !! who wants to o wireless printing ffs ? hardly cool is it ..just plug the printer in man , usualy when needing printing one is near one anyways

  • Comment removed

  • Im Getting a Mac Book For Graduation should I Get This ?

  • @zashleyfurever3 why ? do you need it ? .

  • yes - highly recommended!

  • nice i might think of buying one of these thanx man

  • great review man

  • I have the same question as truentertainmentRU. Please reply back!!

  • awesome video bro

  • is this like a normal router where you need to plug an internet source into the airport to actually get internet? or does this allow you to plug up to the wall, and have internet? that's always confused me about the airport, and i cant find the answer anywhere. thanks

  • @TruEntertainmentRU @thfcted This can work in 2 ways. If you already have a network setup, then you can just extend the network by setup and plugging it into the wall. If you want the Airport to have its own network, you will need a source, such as an ethernet cable.

  • @AppleGenius0921 Thanks for the answer. For some reason I was hoping it would be it's own internet source, but that's silly thinking back on it.

  • does it work with a ps3??

  • yes it will work with your ps3 it is just a normal router with some special features

  • would you be able to plug in a USB splitter to be able to plug in multiple things?

  • you can plug in so many printers etc, but for this you need HUB)

  • does this only work on a mac

  • No, it works for both Mac and PC.

  • if i had it in my room could i use my xbox to go online with it with the ethernet cable?

  • Using the Airport Express only makes a connection go wireless, it won't let you have both a wireless connection and a wired on the same wall jack.

  • yes but you also need to purchase an xbox 360 wireless network adapter that you plug into the xbox.

  • why would you need to mine connects to my router wirelessly without one.

  • Hey,

I want to buy the airport express basicly just for setting it up with my home speakers. But does it only work with iTunes? I would like to use it with the sound of youtube, FLV, quicktime, iMovie, Finalcut, .. all of it.

    Nice review ;-)

  • Yes, it only works with iTunes.

  • yeah i was abit disappointed with that fact when i bought it ..although u was informed when i bought it ... it is still well worth it though

  • so if i will plug it in my internet modem it will make it wireless internet

  • Yes, it makes your current wired connection wireless.

  • yes if you plug your ethernet cable into the express instead of your computer it will let you create a wireless network
