@RoyalAlba1 Well, the .357 Magnum is the bigger number so that's your first clue. If you simply google image search or Wikipedia search 357 magnum compared to .17 HMR cartridge, the size should give it away.
.17 is smaller than .22LR. So the .357 magnum is just a tiny bit more powerful, LOL.
Now, the .17 is just a necked-down .22 so even though it's smaller caliber, it packs more punch than both the .22LR and.22WMR.
@porkfat , Nope, the 22 magnum is more powerful than the 17HMR . The 17HMR is just fast and doesn't have that much of energy.
Google: Compared: .17 HMR and .22 WMR (Magnum) chuckhawk-c-m.
Energy
Velocity is an important factor in calculating kinetic energy, but so is bullet weight. We have already seen that the .17 HMR is by far the faster cartridge, but the .22 WMR shoots a far heavier bullet. Energy is important because it powers bullet expansion and penetration.
I was always taught on a revolver its hammer and then trigger.. I believe that SA vs DA is more accurate because of less strain on the trigger pull. I've shot DA revolvers and still us it in SA mode due to my belief that it is more accurate.. I could be wrong and if you are used to shooting DA then I'm sure you'd be able to compensate for the foot LB of pull on DA vs SA.
A lot of people that carry a revolver will tell you that single action is useless because it is just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Cocking the hammer shows intent. Just pulling a trigger can be shown as a reflex. Besides a well polished trigger group in a DAO weapon is just as light as that trigger is in single action. I used to carry a revolver and just to know quite a few interesting things about them.
She has strong arms for a small woman and she anticipates and overcompensates. You can tell this when after she fires the last round, she visibly lurches forward. It's not in the video however. So that's probably why it looks like there's not much recoil.
Yes, you are correct. The .357 round has a longer case and therefore more powder behind the bullet. A .357 revolver can fire both the longer, more powerful .357 as well as the shorter, less powerful .38.
A .38 revolver, however, cannot fire a .357 round because the chamber is too short to hold the round and the frame of the .38 is usually of weaker design and could not withstand the heavier powder loads.

@porkfat your not suppose to cock it back after each shot I have the taurus and i just pull the trigger.
DarkThug13 1 year ago
When you cock the hammer and fire it like a single action you'll be more accurate.

i know its fun to cock the hammer, but does she know its double action?
therealdestructicus 2 years ago
She's a petite lady. She doesn't have the hand strength to accurately fire double action.

I like the way she set the gun down with it pointing downrange to
reload it and the way she made sure the cylinder was closed properly by rotating it. Good manners all around.

.357 magnum rounds doesn´t have as little recoil at this ones does. Still a .357 piece, but i guess she´s firing .38 spl rounds.
318tiBimmer 3 years ago
Well, you're wrong. They're Wolf .357 magnums.

OK,
my mistake then...

OK, it`s probably the reason you`ve mentioned...also the heavy barrel and its power port helps a lot by reducing recoil too

this may be a dumb question, but is a .357 more powerful than a .38? i dont know shit about revolvers
