Here is the reason why raising the minimum wage makes the economy better: workers have more money to spend, this creates the demand that businesses need to spend money on capital investment. After the investment, they will hire more people to run this capital equipment and turn a profit. Everyone wins in the end. Worked under Truman, Kennedy/LBJ and Clinton!
No evidence that employers cant pay the higher minimum wage, in fact, raising it has been followed by periods of job growth, many studies have confirmed this. In addition, 93% of small business owners say the minimum wage either has no effect on them or actually has a POSITIVE effect. Get the facts straight before talking, please!
