There is much more blood and gore, lots of extreme moments, black and white, etc. I think one of the main reasons people don't like it is because you don't really care about the victims, there's little hope, and it's pretty much doom and gloom from the start, so some might see it as quite tedious and boring. I think it's art.

I think you should review the movie "Antichrist", with Willem Dafoe, if you haven't seen it yet. In my opinion, it's not exactly shocking and gross out (save for a couple of parts), but it's a kinda psychological drama in a way. It's hard to explain, you'd have to watch it, and kinda like pay attention to it, cuz it can be a little confusing.

@IAmHotdogs Sadly, I haven't. When I was collecting Troma movies years ago, I kept seeing it advertised in the little flier that came with every DVD. So, I am somewhat interested in checking it out.
You are right in that there is little characterisation to this film apart the mad doctor. I guess the reason I liked The Human Centipede is because I's a bit of a sucker for a Frankenstein-esque story. My only real gripe is that the film should've taken advantage of its exploitive nature of the premise to go OTT. I would've loved to have seen the gruesome ass-to-mouth attachment without those stupid daipers they (the Centipede) were wearing

I haven't read about this movie having a message, but I heard (and read) that this movie was inspired by a joke (not sure of the director made it up or not) about a child molester's punished by being sitched to overweight truck drivers' asses. What an odd concept.
I saw it and honestly dont get why it even seemed remotely gross , yes I found the idea that someone abducting you and performing this sort of anatomical modification so to speak utterly horrifying but the movie just wasn't scary -_-

The thing he cut on her knees was a ligament, not the entire knee connections. So they can bend the legs in one direction, they cannot rise their butts as if they're kicking forward. It's a sick movie, but also an ellegant screen and very strong repulsive idea. This is a real movie with personality, not a whatever movie to make money as Thor, Green Lantern and Kung Fu Panda.
@Christomb Still, if cutting the ligament only let the knee bend in one direction, they wouldn't be able to bend them back and forth like they did in some scenes.
I respect the fact that you enjoy the movie (at least, I am going to assume that), but it just didn't sit well with me. And, I really wanted to like it, too. I just found some issues that sort of destroyed the movie for me.
@He11sing920 Remember that knee ligaments are reponsible for moving the feet forward or backwards. The rotation moves that knees does are made by the pelvis in connection with the femur (sorry I have not better word to describe it in english). I enjoy the movie as a different thing than the fat/sugar/moneymaking that cinema turned in. Please don't think I like to see people suffering, and I dont like to say I like monsters' stuff just to shock pale minds.
I like how you pay attention to everything in the films, instead of just centering on what you find appealing. In any case, I've heard of a movie called: "Murder, Set, Pieces". It was rated among the top ten most disturbing films of all time on IGN. I've never watched it but the case comes labeled with a WARNING, and I've heard mixed reviews. Some say it's a deprived, sexual, horror flick, others say the worst you see is blood and the movie is low rate. I think you ought to give it a try.

You are right in that there is little characterisation to this film apart the mad doctor. I guess the reason I liked The Human Centipede is because I's a bit of a sucker for a Frankenstein-esque story. My only real gripe is that the film should've taken advantage of its exploitive nature of the premise to go OTT. I would've loved to have seen the gruesome ass-to-mouth attachment without those stupid daipers they (the Centipede) were wearing

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a movie for me. I'm not a big fan of torture porn anyway. I prefer my creatures to be city stompers.
Nothing against gore, but I prefer it when it isn't excessive or overdone.

I haven't read about this movie having a message, but I heard (and read) that this movie was inspired by a joke (not sure of the director made it up or not) about a child molester's punished by being sitched to overweight truck drivers' asses. What an odd concept.

I saw it and honestly dont get why it even seemed remotely gross , yes I found the idea that someone abducting you and performing this sort of anatomical modification so to speak utterly horrifying but the movie just wasn't scary -_-

The thing he cut on her knees was a ligament, not the entire knee connections. So they can bend the legs in one direction, they cannot rise their butts as if they're kicking forward. It's a sick movie, but also an ellegant screen and very strong repulsive idea. This is a real movie with personality, not a whatever movie to make money as Thor, Green Lantern and Kung Fu Panda.

@Christomb Still, if cutting the ligament only let the knee bend in one direction, they wouldn't be able to bend them back and forth like they did in some scenes.
I respect the fact that you enjoy the movie (at least, I am going to assume that), but it just didn't sit well with me. And, I really wanted to like it, too. I just found some issues that sort of destroyed the movie for me.

@He11sing920 Remember that knee ligaments are reponsible for moving the feet forward or backwards. The rotation moves that knees does are made by the pelvis in connection with the femur (sorry I have not better word to describe it in english). I enjoy the movie as a different thing than the fat/sugar/moneymaking that cinema turned in. Please don't think I like to see people suffering, and I dont like to say I like monsters' stuff just to shock pale minds.

I like how you pay attention to everything in the films, instead of just centering on what you find appealing. In any case, I've heard of a movie called: "Murder, Set, Pieces". It was rated among the top ten most disturbing films of all time on IGN. I've never watched it but the case comes labeled with a WARNING, and I've heard mixed reviews. Some say it's a deprived, sexual, horror flick, others say the worst you see is blood and the movie is low rate. I think you ought to give it a try.

Yet another movie that depicts Germans as evil, instead of the wooden crafted board game loving, beard enthusiast accountants their modern 21st Century incarnations are.
You could always review Jan Svankmejer's "Alice" or "Faust" if you want something not stomach churning but still mildly terrifying in ways no jump scare can deliver.

Actually, Hellsing, you may be interested to hear this: another Internet reviewer Brad Jones(don't know if you've heard of him. He also goes by the name of Cinema Snob) reviewed this movie and said that he saw it as a sort of dark comedy. He said he was actually laughing during the movie. I just thought that was interesting. Great reaction/review!! I've been hearing alot about this movie lately, so I was waiting to hear your opinion.

But, they do sound a lot alike. Maybe Rammstein used the same sound effect in Links 2-3-4.

Yeah, I thought the movie was kinda tame, I think some people are just offended or grossed out easily. I've come to realize that I'm not fazed by anything involving movies. I didn't like the ending in Human Centipede. I finally watched Tokyo Gore Police and I thought that movie was fucking awesome (even though the gore was very fake looking).
