Yuuksta: what do you recommend for string for a somewhat inexperienced beginner, and why? Like, say I have a Duncan Mosquito (I know, cheap yo-yo, but it's not for me) is there a string you would recommend for someone who has trouble getting it to sleep? What about if it's too sleepy? In your experience, can string play a fairly important role in that, or is it pretty much strictly the yo-yo itself? I'm asking for a neighbor kid...any thoughts / comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@introspectacle1 Use polyester strings. And the whole sleep time thing does not have anything to do with the string. If your having trouble with sleep time, pick up a upgraded ball bearing. They sell this one bearing on yoyosam called the ricerocket size a terrapin x bearing, and its only $5 and it gives you alot of sleep time. If the spin time is too long, then that is definelty a good thing for when you get better in yoyoing. Hopes this helps!

I kind of modded my 888. It has a grind machine bearing, black hubstacks, kentaro pads, and a grinded shiny outer ring. I'm going to put z-stacks on it soon.

@doobmeister1 the projam sleep time depends on what bearing is inside of it. Mine had a Center Trac which is a high performance bearing which allowed the yoyo to spin over a minute. If you were to buy a projam stock, it would be responsive and spin for about 30-40 seconds. Mine was custom modded so it was able to spin longer, and be unresponsive.

how did you remove the caps and change the shape?

@TheBenjerman I used a suction cup to remove the caps, and to change the shape basicly all you need is sandpaper and you can sand it down.

@honda2363 I had sent them several pictures of my cracked northstar and I had explained to them how it had broke. I left my northstar in my room, and it cracked on its own. Some say its because of change in temperature but who knows.
