  • A esto es que me refiero la desconfiansa???

  • delta dawn rules!

  • this was the number one song on the day i was born

  • Helen Reddy was HUGE in the 1970's. Much like Beyonce.

  • I love this song so much. I used to listen to the tape over and over again, and would just rewrind and replay this song.

  • wow what an inspirational clip. truly from the heart and soul. donkwoon if its any consolation, we are all lonely in one way or another. But its better to be in ones own company than the company of beraters, belittelers, users, fakes, people who exhibit lower human qualities.

getting back to the clip, we all have our crosses to bear delta has hers and so do we all in one form or another. key is to keep moving forward and never look back.

  • Following Big Fan ost

  • looked this song up after monica sang it on friends, then loved it

  • thanks for the memories from the 70s

  • Delta Dawn--a story song that shows us a fragmented woman from a shattered romance--once "the prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on" come to ruin from some scally wag who abandoned her with a "faded rose from days gone by." Her mind the place where lives a mansion in the sky--

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin sent me here.

  • LOVE THIS SONG AND ALOT OF PEOPLE DO 2

  • Thanks!! cheers from Argentina

  • I always think of my mother when i hear this song. She used to sing the opening as "Delta Dawn, what's that flour you have on? Is it pillsbury, mother's best, or martha white?" She's gone now but hearing this still makes me smile at the memeory.

  • Thumbs up if "Big Fan" brought you here

  • statler bros back up. you kick ass

  • :D

  • Great song--in my opinion one of the top 20 songs of all time.

  • my friends name is delta

  • this song's so tragic and sad. :( people like delta dawn are everywhere .. they choose dementia over tragedy

  • Oh, I love some of the photo associations with the song lyrics, very clever!

  • loved the video

  • If ever there was a song that depicted the sadness and utter hopelessness of a lost love, this is it. Beautifully sung by Helen Ready and the backing singers. Classic.

  • My mom use to sing this to me when i was younger

  • The Bette Midler version is great too - sung a bit slower with more emotion.

  • Billboard's 343rd #1 hit of the rock era. God bless1!

  • 1:44 that's not a faded rose. it's a wilted peony.

  • your insulting the people that made the song... but its as funny as hell!

  • Totally awesome video for this song!!!!!!!!!

  • Priceless! What more need I say about this video which honors one of my alltime favorite songs?

  • LOVE THE PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job matching the song!

  • Malke Schwarz, oh those pearls look like quartz. Could it be you bought them at the five and dime? And did I hear you say you hate it when your tate says "oy vey", because it makes you seem less like a goy?

  • Found out yesterday a girl at work's middle name is "Dawn" and I was off. I love this song. Helen Reddy is a beautiful woman and a legendary talent. Her voice, the backgrounds, the progressions, OMG, this song is so amazing!

  • The recording included Joe Osborn on bass.

  • Helen Reddy was my very first crush. She was so beautiful and talented.

  • way befoe TANYA TUCKER...this was the standard thank you

  • make sme sad bout my dogs dyin but stil a great song

  • classic song - the pictures made me giggle...

  • Adorable Beatiful Song!! I Love It!!

  • You did a nice job on this.

  • this is better version than tanya tuckers in my opinion

  • GREAT VIDEO THANKS

  • LOVE this song! The 'Mysterious Dark-Haired Man' is 'JESUS'...to take you to His Mansion in the Sky"...Great Melody, Great Lyrics j- a Rarity nowadays!

  • LOL these "Music videos" are quite the giggle makers.

  • This song is a cover OF a cover. Most of us know that Tanya Tucker's version preceded Helen Reddy's BUT the very original came was a recording by it's writer, Alexander Harvey. That's right someone did it even before Tanya! Check out Harvey's original, his version is quite different, much more bluesy than the more famous covers.

  • This song still scares me....I listened to it as a child....and now as adult, still scary to me. They don't make songs like this anymore. It is fantastic. Helen Reddy does not appeal to men so much, but this song grabbed me. And my sister liked her. She is gone now in a sense. Freak car accident. Knowing she liked Helen Reddy too......it is something we share.......frankly, not a lot of men would to admit to liking Ms. Reddy. But I do. I inherited her music, and Helen was there.

  • Nice video. I now remember the lyrics because of the pictures. The pictures are pretty. thanx for the entertainment!!

  • I wanted to like the tucker version better but i couldn't reddy's voice just nails the song.

  • Love this song

  • Just found this today, 22 May 2010--probably hadn't heard this song in 30 years. Sill love it, thanks for posting.

  • GREAT choice of pictures!

    So creative!

    Great video too!

  • You did a great job on this video. What a sad song.

  • great song, assinine video

  • COOL video! Great job! I love the song as well! I like it better than Tanya Tucker's version.

  • @56Mercgal

I don't think there's much difference between Tanya's and Helen's. However, if you should listen to the original version by the guy who wrote Alex Harvey, it's VERY different. Harvey's original is a much slower, southern bluesy type of song.

I happen to like Alex Harvey's version best of all.

  • Fantastic song

  • Fantastic song, Love the video as well.

  • my mom showed this to me and i love it!!!!!

  • hit #1 in Billboard. God bless!

  • Very nice. You made a drunk lonely guy a little more happy and a little less lonely.
