  • I love star wars, everything about it. It makes me cry, laugh, smile, and release my emotions. It is more than a movie to me, its a whole part of my life.

  • 7:40 you can see the original "Revenge of the Jedi" posters =D

  • Silence at the end of a movie screening isn't "the highest possible compliment from a Japanese audience." It's just normal for theatergoers in Japan to quietly wait for the credits to finish before they speak or leave the theater. It's a point of courtesy to other moviegoers.

  • @americandodgeball Are you Japanese...No then you can't say fuck all

  • @LegoFilmKid I've lived in Japan for more than eight years and my wife is Japanese, so yes, I can. Close your mouth before a bug flies into it.

  • Thank god the beards and fashions of the 70s didnt influence this series!! It all turned out soo timeless in the end

  • There's no bigger compliment than a movie theather full of flabbergasted Japanese people.

  • Irvin Kirshner should've directed Attack of the Clones.

  • @BoukenCrimson That would have been interesting but Lucas is the best director for the series!!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 With Attack of the Clones being a love story, and Lucas not being the best at writing romantic dialogue, have another director for AOTC might have been a better choice.

  • @BoukenCrimson I see but he did a good job on the original trilogy didn`rt he, don`t forget he co-wrote the screnplays of the sequels also Jonathan Hales co-wrote II!!!!!!

  • @BoukenCrimson He should have just gotten Kershner to do it again, because the AOTC love story was not only the most forced love story in the history of cinema but it was just painful and boring to watch

  • Damn Lucas is a brilliant businessman though...

  • C-3PO saying "R2-D2 hayaku" made me laugh really hard.

  • R.I.P. Irvin Kershner. You directed one of best and most epic movies ever made. Thank you.

  • 'Empire' is so visually arresting. No CGI nonsense. You believe 'it's real'. And it IS . . .

  • i have over 200 of there "bubblegum" cards, all their toys, comics, books, i even have some of the cereal masks. :]

  • "You're not really famous until you're a Pez dispenser." Gotta love it!

  • the 3 people who disliked this vid are star trek fans

  • god what george must have been thinking when the movie turned out to be a hit. a big f u to the people who didnt believe in him. redemption at its best.

  • 07:41 Revenge of the Jedi??!

  • @gamersofsweden08 The original title for Jedi. They changed because, well, Jedi aren't vengeful

  • @gamersofsweden08 the third film was originally called "revenge of the jedi" but lucas changed it to "return" at the last minute. so all the promotional posters leading up to the film said "revenge".

  • STAR WARS MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN AVATAR

  • No offense to Irvin Kershner, but he sounds like Kermit the Frog.

  • @Tyronebamf That might actually be a plus in some cases.

  • you're not really famous until your a pez dispenser ;D lol

  • Awesome, Star Wars is.

  • thumbs up for new SW episodes!!!!

  • @milosmicky I wont say they're not as good as the old ones, because a lot of work has obviously been put into them, but they definitely don't have the same feel as the old movies.

  • @YaikonMetal Old movies were great, no doubt. But, why only six episodes. ST is going to have now a new movie, more than 5 spin of, from the original tv series, and SW had some lime tv shows, and now this medium not so important Clone wars cartoon. Doesnt anyone beside me, want new heroes, new villans, new planets, more force powers, aliens... THUMB UP FOR NEW SW MOVIES!!!

  • @milosmicky As long as they are Live-Action. I HATE THE FUCKING CARTOONS!

  • kerchner is THE MAN, he made the best of all 6 movies, and the best movie of all time (though I used to hate how it ended when I was a kid )

  • theres nothing wrong with merchendising but using it is stupid if your 30 years and have a dool of vader you need a life. But if you want to give it to your child that makes sense .The child need this movie to learn about life . And yes only first 3 movie , not the new ones which are just so terrible i hope the people who made the films last 3 die . Its all made behind a blue screen terrible

  • @system0system0 Even if you're using it for decoration is stupid, or what if you're going to a convention and want to dress up as a character, you have issues with that too?

  • @system0system0 wo uhmm calm down i love all the movies except episode 1 it asnt to good, an u shouldnt say every1 who worked on the movies should die, it was george lucas scripts and screen play, and ya cant wish him to die cause without him no digital suround, no pixar, no digital enhancment its all his company and ILM so think b4 u say something its one thing to say u dnt like movies but dnt go that far

  • Thank god for that agent . . .

  • I fell asleep watching Star Wars revenge of the CGI. That would never happen with the earlier more interesting movies like Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back.

  • you could make a million star wars movies, all of them would be just awesome.

  • @Ryagful Except for the prequels..... or that animated crap film/tv show... or the Holiday Special...

  • Carrie fisher has a real sense of humour! Love the comment about paying a couple of bux to Lucas if she looks in the mirror! LOL!

  • Lol. I had that mask on the cereal box.

  • They forgot about the holiday special, though you can understand why.

  • @urtv1 i noticed that but gegore himself is personaly ashamed of that lol.

  • I'm not famous, princess Leia is famous, and I look like her. I own George a couple of bucks!" Classic! roflol

  • STAR WARS CHANGED THE WORLD IT WAS SOMTHING ORIGINAL. VATAR IS JUST POCAHONTAS IN SPACE WITH NO ACTION, AND IMBARISING SHET....

  • "We Want Darth! We Want Darth!"

    Darth Vader 2012?

  • The German movie-poster said "in a far away future".. how bad is that?

  • 7:35 Anyone else spot the "Revenge Of The Jedi" poster in the background?

  • @silverwings21 it was the movie title for return of the jedi and was decided the jedi wouldnt resort to revenge!!

  • I remember when I was young I got one of my best friends an inflatable light saber for his birthday. That was the best present he ever got and he played with it till it was no more.

  • Is the directors voice the same as yoda, or is it just me...

  • The reason that The Empire Strikes Back was the best one: Lucas didn't direct it.

  • @lulzoperator george lucas is an amazing director, wat r u saying

  • @WHITEGLASSESDUDE94 Lucas WAS a great director - past tense, Sir.

  • starwars will always live and nobody could stop it even 2012 hoax

  • The Greatest Epoch In History...ever

  • Walter Kronkite should've been cut from this documentary. Damn is he annoying.

  • As bad as the new Star Wars movies may seem, George Lucas is still a damn genius!

  • 3:54 LMAO Nice one Carrie!

  • There was supposed to be a 10 minute segment about the Star Wars Hoilday Special in which Lucas explained of his regrets on not control over the Star Wars fanchise. It was cut which according to the Producers due to pacing reasons. Though most likely, they didn't want to remind the Star Wars fans about it.

  • lol close your eyes

and the director of the 2nd film sounds like raymond

  • No, Carrie, YOU are famous.

  • this is the best movie... the best history ever!!! i LOVE this movie

  • I agree, "Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope" is the best film in history in my opinion. It really showed what movies can do.

Also love "Avatar" but "Star Wars" is still my favourite. :)

  • I dont like Avatar because for me, it was a bit too boring and I didn't really get in the mood that was presented in the movie, the idea was great, but it wasn't produced right.

  • There was nothing like it, and it will never be :(

  • As a kid at the time, I was amazed there was a sequel! The goodies had taken on the baddies, won and lived happily ever after as far as I was concerned!

  • Saw it in 1977 at the age of 6 at the long since knocked down Granada cinema in Bedford, Bedfordshire UK.

    :o)

  • ...by the way the grandiose Granada cinema in Bedford is now a bloody Lidl supermarket.

    If I didn't laugh I'd cry lol!

  • yes sir i still remember the first time i seen it. AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • Cronkite doesn't get that it's a Space Opera, not Hard Science Fiction LOL

    he's still cool though.

  • This documentary is epic, soo fun to hear that ppl thought ep 4 was a childrenmovie xD Starwars will live on forever

  • God Bless George Lucas and the Star Wars cast and crew

  • star wars the best thing to happen

  • @kyletonarella

    No,

    Its the greatest thing!

  • @kyletonarella Except for the Holiday Special and the Prequels

  • @Nelexin funny how this docutumenty ignored talking about that lol. :p

  • I would love to see the rest :)
