  • Shouldn't have even read it. Like a royal oath would stop someone from becoming an MP, it would be charles the first all over again.

  • It's less to the monarch, it's an oath of allegiance to the state. The monarch is just the state 'personified' if you will. Technically, isn't being a republican treasonous anyway, according to the oath he's sworn? Off wiv 'is 'ed!

  • The Royal Family financially PROFIT this country and are responsible for hundreds of people being employed, not to mention the trickle down economics they create.....

Dennis Skinner, is an ignorant, lazy old Socialist Dinosaur.....

  • Good for him. God Fuck the Queen YAY :)

  • The point is you have every right to disagree with politicians who are not monarchists,do not vote for them but in the democratically elected parliaments a democratically elected MP cannot take their seat if they do not swear an oath of allegiance to the monarch and her heirs and successors how is that democratic, the voters have already given the person a mandate to serve.Gerry Adams was elected because people voted for him that is democracy you may not like it but we live by one person one vote

  • Ignorant pig.

  • @349quinman How is this ignorance?

  • @smith34n because it is disrespectful to Her Majesty who is the Head of State whereby his act is in ignorance.

  • @pidgeblev British citizens have the right to freedom of expression, this extends on to politicians, he doesn't personnally agree with the system of monarchy so he choses to complete his oath in this way. It may not be the most appropriate medium to project this message but he was full right to do it.

He is a statesman of the people, he does not agree with the elite, I am glad he is not shy to express this like many are.

  • @smith34n mmm, yep - nevertheless it is still ignorant as he is swearing allegiance to her government.

  • @pidgeblev Review the definition of ignorant, it is not an appropriate word for someone who has been in politics nearly 50 years.

  • @smith34n Mate, I know the definition of ignorance and no, i'm not confusing it with 'being rude'. This act is of ignorance to Her Majesty's House and the oath he swears to her. Perhaps you should look up that allegiance. He should be tried for treason!!! lol. Though that's the beauty of our conversation and your point earlier - freedom of express and we differ on opinion - I do feel though in this case he is being ignorant.

  • @pidgeblev You think because someone does not agree with the monarchy they should be tried for teason? This is the exact savagry we saw in the 1650's and should not be carried through into the modern demoracy we have today. The political reason Gerry Adams has not sworn an oath is acceptable, regardless of him being a complete bellend, he also has the right to political side against the figurehead of parliament. The Queen has very little involvement in today's parliament anyway.

  • @smith34n haha, i was joking with the treason remark! As for Adams, i'm not sure about you but to me an "ex" terrorist shouldn't have any part in running the country, a country that is part of this Kingdom we live in and he hates!! Absolute JOKE and actually quite atrocious. That's weak politics for you! God, a Monarch any day rather than a bloody politician as Head of State.

  • @pidgeblev The only reason Gerry Adams was allowed to serve as an MP on British territory was because the British government had to make a deal with Sinn Fien. The man is a terrorist who should be left to rot inside a cold and dark prison cell.

Personnally, I would rather live in a democratic English Republic which has a more U.S. orientated government with a presidental head of state. Can't see it happening though.

  • @smith34n Well i do agree wholeheartedly on your Adams remark. Not sure about the latter!

  • @smith34n - why on earth would you want the UK to become like America?? I am American, and having a politician as head of state in the UK is FOLLY.

  • @smith34n My comment back sounded a tad hypocritical there but let me put it this way - Skinner nevertheless takes the oath. Take Gerry Adams (the IRA scumbag) he point blank refuses to take the oath and swear allegiance to the Queen. To me, although i don't agree demonstrates less ignorance! (he shouldn't even be there to begin though)

  • God bless Dennis Skinner!

  • Can't we all be friends!

  • if dennis skinner doesnt want to read the oath why should he have to , like the queen is in charge lol. why should anybody have to read oath to her. it a free country at the moment. fuck the royals

  • Labour are a bunch of lazy bad mannered slobs. Sorry.

  • The Queen is nothing more than an unelected sponger and a relic from the fallen empire.

    Time to go Queeny!

  • The insolence!

  • @NobodyLikesPaul:

What is it that bothers you so much about what I said? Could it be the fact that you can't stand the fact that some of us see theft schemes for what they are? Again, you are either part of this monarchist mafia (you directly or inderectly stand to benefit for perpetuating this theft) or you have a midget brain born to be a compliant and obedient servant. And, this is fine, but, just don't try to convince other people with common sense of this illusion. Go adore the Queeen!

  • @dbww:

A parliament that gains its authority from the Monarch? And I'm sure you run go around preaching to people that you live in a democracy. Listen, ignoramus, if you want to live under this illusion, that is fine, just, do not expect those with common sense to be subjected to this monarchist mafia.

  • @introduire you have no idea what you are talking about and everything you have just said is utter bullshit,

but then you're american, so i wouldn't expect you to know what you are talking about

  • @2490debrick:

That's probably because you are either part of this monarchist mafia that mooches off the labour of people or you're a little mind born to be an obedient, compliant subject with nothing of value to offer Humankind.

  • MPs should have the choice...WE should have the choice!

  • I agree with him. An MP should not be subordinate to the monarch. An MP is democratically elected to represent the people. A monarch is an accident of birth propping up a corrupt aristocracy. Well done Dennis.

  • I would rather to the Queen than some common vermin socialist peasant that is a Labour man!

  • Good for you Dennis. The Royals have done fuck all to get where they are. Everything they've got was stolen.

  • fuck the queen shes red blooded like everyone else

  • People comparing Skinner to Sinn Fein don't make sense. Sinn Fein don't take the oath because they (in theory...) don't recognise British rule in Northern Ireland. If there was a republican government in Britain the situation would be very much the same - they still wouldn't recognise British rule. Skinner was elected by his constituents to represent them in a legislature that he recognises.

  • My 1st comment was ref to the tory comments made on this page. I think you are more educated than me so there is no need for me to say look at other Dennis Skinner videos to hear what he stands for.

  • Funny how these Tory people hate a person that speaks the truth .

  • @escortmk112 define the truth?

  • @mak34237 People like skinner who say it as it is

  • @escortmk112 and what may I ask is he saying?

  • @fishybishbash One should not sod principles even to improve society. Solemn oaths ought only to be taken 1) if they are compatible with conscience, and 2) sincerely.

On a slightly related note: from the little I have seen and read of him, it seems to me that society would be far better off without this man's ideas.

  • I'm an Irish Catholic and, as a matter of principle, I would never swear allegiance to a Protestant monarch.

If this man can't take the oath sincerely then he shouldn't take it at all.

  • @RPAntonioSoler Re. Skinner - I disagree. He can do far more to advance his ideas by being a part of the institution and if that requires him to mumble through a meaningless sentence then so be it. If it results in improved conditions, then sod the principles.

  • @RPAntonioSoler: Exactly. I draw similarities between Skinner and Sinn Fein. While I dislike both, at least Sinn Fein stay true to their principles rather than selling out hypocritically as Skinner does.

  • Jesus Christ why bring the BNP into it ?I'm afraid also that it"does matter" if a country like Scotland isn't "into" being a subservient domain of English Sovereignty. The trouble with Scotland is that there is a dichotomy of opinion between socialist values and Nationalism.Slowly both interests are coming together and politically adept people all over the UK know its coming.I think those of French decent would disagree with you on the Canadian point too.

  • The reason for our MP's having to swear an oath to the Queen is because the Queen's oath is to the people, it's a beautiful system if only they would stand on their oaths.

  • Absolutely pathetic that in 2011 a politician or anyone has to swear an oath to a person who is in place through an accident of birth, Jesus F'ing Christ...UK let's get some self respect, the "thinking" World is laughing at us. I'm ashamed by this subsevience.

  • Why should any democraticly elected politician have to swear an oath to the unelacted head of an unelected monachy. lf Dennis Skinner had not mumbled his oath he would not be allowed to sit in parliament to represent the people who democraticaly voted him in to represent them . l know a lot of you will say that it is tradition but in this real world it is utter rubbish . lf he was a royalist and wanted to swear allegiance to her then fair enough but to force him is totally wrong

  • you don't need a pathetic grey jacket to make you noticed, just your mouth and your verbal shit thit comes out of it.

  • Good man, i dont see any reason i should pledge an oath to an old woman who by genetic chance happened to be born into a life of luxury. I'd rather be a citizen amongst people treated with respect and admiration for what they achieve not being worshipped for being born into wealth or with a stupid title. I dont sing the anthem, never!! It symbolises everything wrong with this country.

  • Who cares!

  • socialism is the worst system of government in the world. we are getting rid of them in france because they spent so much and drove our country into a financial crisis. I hope British people vote against Labour, the socialists war mongering sheeps who suck tax payers money without any idea about how to create jobs because creating jobs is against their socialist pro-poor agenda. to be poor is better, to be the poorest is the best - socialism at its finest.

  • oh yes the hero of the poor dennis...who failed to create any jobs for his constituents

pack your things socialists because you are now awarded with a free ticket to your dream land called the EUSSR. why preach a system that is always doomed to fail. your socialist banner has decayed since the fall of the berlin wall. your lust for power will ruin the country like how the eastern europeans crumble under a socialist regime. socialists have no idea about history, they just wait for their benefits

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 your an idiot

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 The USSR was never a true socialist state, it was communist, there are differences believe it or not. Always doomed to fail? Socialism was more of a success in the former Yugoslavia and in Venuzuela..there's proof of that. You clearly don't know history if you believe that socialism has failed everywhere it's been tested. Clearly capitalism is working at the moment..rising unemployed and another economic crises at hand, hats off to the Tories & new Labour.

  • @RyanBurnleyFc Socialism does not work and never will and neither was USSR 'true communism'. Under socialism, no one would work as they would know they can sit on their lazy back sides and get paid the same amount as one who does nothing, but of course we would have to make everyone work, thrus creatin a totalterian regime and police state.

There would be equality of opportunity - as there would be NO opportunity. Whilst socialists mean good for the poor, they are wrong.

  • @ForeverComplaining That's right, again, just totally disregard my previous post and all of my points that I made. Venezuela and Yugoslavia until it's dissolution, well until Tito's death really. These are two examples where Socialism has worked, quite well, too for a period of time. Yes "a period of time" but I can't see any polticial structure being successful for longer than 10/20 years? I'm struggling anyway. Point is, it DID work for them, so you're wrong.

  • @RyanBurnleyFc Venezuela and Yugoslavia are two utter dumps which are probably the most corrupt countries in the world.

How you can possibly use them as a way of justifying socialism pretty much adds a hilarity factor to your argument.

Sorry but left-wing policy does not work, it consumes wealth and gives less back. There is not one place or area influenced by left-wing policy that is good. Just look at areas like Hackney and Slough in the UK, labour landslides...

  • @ForeverComplaining First of all, have you ever visited either country? Second of all, there's no such thing as Yugoslavia anymore, so again, due to your inability to do some research we're back to square one. No doubt you're media-violated mind has come to a conclusion that both countries are, or were "corrupt". Prove it, before Tito's death anyway. Man I'd love to hear your excuse this time. Read the enemy within and don't believe everything the media tells you, it's naive.

  • @ForeverComplaining Why are you bringing up Labour again? I'm not Labour and they aren't really left wing anymore anyway. Well done though and I'm in total agreement about Hackney and Slough..and London in general. I think it's a complete shite-hole. I think instead of fantasising that Margaret Thatcher was the greatest ever politician the world has ever seen and that you need to accept the fact that she made massive faults. You only need to go up north to see that.

  • @ForeverComplaining Oh dear..by the way, you're definition of socialism is so, so way off the mark and pre-judgemental it's untrue. I feel sorry for you.

  • @RyanBurnleyFc It isn't. Socialism wants everything owned by the state, 100% tolerance to immigration, a stronger welfare state.

Do you honestly think people would get off their back sides and work, knowing they'll still be as poor as those that do work?! Areas would become dumps and mafias would form.

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011

oh go suck off a daily mail editor why don't you.

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 DIVIDE AND RULE.YOU ARE A PERFECT MODEL.YOUVE FELL FOR IT.GO AND FILL YOUR CAR WITH PETROL.the liquid of young men and womens blood PHONEY

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 . Fuck you, Your Banker/ wanker friends are to blame, Get a Time machine, And go back to your Nazi friends

  • Its true what that say about labour politicians being illiterate

  • @ukipwarrior

I think it's about republican vs monarchist here dumbass - not literate vs illiterare. He mumbled it because he feels a politician shouldn't be subdued to a monarch.

  • @Gardash111 I know he wants total power total NWO socialist control.

  • @ukipwarrior

Sigh, I'm a Tory - but it are people like you that make me ashamed of fellow libs and tories.

  • @Gardash111 well said, respect. this guy has given over 50yrs to labour. he could be correct in his politics or he could be crazily wrong but he comes from a generation that used rational debate (on all sides) instead of the 'fuck you' screaming that we hear now.

I don't vote tory but if I did I'd be well embarassed to find myself amongst people who think that howling abuse to the opposition amounted to good politics.

  • @ukipwarrior FUCK OFF UK KIP.YOUR A DISGRACE ,BNP IN DISGUISE

  • @TheLatchford FUCK OFF YOU AGGRESIVE LIBERAL KEYBOARD WARRIOR CUNT

  • @ukipwarrior . Fuck off yourself, You Nazi Prick.

  • @shedendboy1 Hitler Gaddafi & Blair (Buthcher of Baghdad) All socialists

  • No sound!

  • Skinner is a typical british cunt

  • I wish he could live for another hundred!

  • How pathetic. The UK is a monarchy whether or not you like it and to mumble his way through his affirmation shows a disrespect not only of the monarchy but also of parliament and the country. By all means campaign for an elected president Cameron to be the symbol of our country if thats what you want but such childish behaviour is totally uncalled for and shows what a fool this man really is.

  • @dbww its not childish. He's doing what he feels right, and doesnt care what others, even his own party think. I think our political system needs a bit more of that dont you?

  • @dbww so if i want to become a politician in order to improve my area, to make peoples lives better and to fight against injustice, i must remember i can only do this if i show loyalty to the monarchy. Would you show enthusiasm for something you don't believe in or respect? No you probably wouldn't. Some of us have values and opinions you know and aren't afraid to stand by them!

  • @SwanThomas If you want to improve your area and make peoples lives better the monarchy has nothing to do with it. If you believe in the rule of law then you respect the customs laid out by that law, one of which is an oath or affirmation to the monarch. By all means oppose the monarchy but if you feel so strongly about this that you cannot swear allegence to it then dont become a member of parliament. Campaign on that issue from the outside. Dont act like a child and mumble through something.

  • @dbww It shows a man who sticks to his principles and doesn't sell out to grasp a bit of power. If we had more politicians like Dennis Skinner this country would be a better place.

  • @19STU84 what a disgrace to society, ain't I glad the country or even our kids playground is not run by such a loudmouthed piece of animosity like him.

  • @dbww

What a nonsense. Why should someone declare on oath to a position which they do not agree with? How on Earth does is disrespect parliament and the country when Dennis Skinner has suggested instead using an oath to the British public?

  • @ptpt1: Exactly. If he stayed true to his principles, he'd not have taken his seat and been like the sinn fein members. In actually taking the oath, no matter if he mumbles it or any other way he decides to "take" it, it makes him a major hypocrite.

  • @dbww You're pathetic thinking that we should be forced to tolerate a Monarchy when the MAJORITY don't want one.And watch who your calling a fool ; Skinner had more integrity than the whole bloody Tory Party.

  • @poulsontheprick Err the majority of people support the monarchy, 67% at the last poll in fact. And as TheSmithersy says Skinner compromises his integrity by taking the oath. If he really opposed taking an oath then he could decline his seat and work from the outside. By mumbling his way through it he is just indulging in a childish protest, throwing his toys out the pram. And even if you do believe that he has integrity that doesnt stop him being a fool.

  • @dbww According to the Daily Mail ; yeah ,right.Typical monarchist who listens to only his/her own opinion. You'll need to do better than throwing a few stats around.I recall the elected M.P. for Fermanagh and South Tyrone DIED for his principles. Are all those who disagree with you fools ? You appear to me to be a blithering pompous arse who defames dead people. Why should Paliament be permitted to hold a gun to our elected M.P.s' heads' ?Are you forgetting the Monarchy are unelected ............?

  • @poulsontheprick According to the Guardian actually, hardly a bastion of facism. I did not say that all people who disagree with me are fools, just that Skinner, who supports an ideology that has been empirically proved not to work, is. As for Parliament 'holding a gun' that is our constitution. Respect it, leave or work outside it. Don't act like a hypocrite as Skinner does, supporting it through gritted teeth for his salary. As for Sands I dont see what that has to do with this at all.

  • @dbww Sands Refused to take the Oath..............If you can't see the connection betweeen the oath taking then it's pretty poor really.Anyway statistics are trooped about all the time by the press. All of it is pure BULLSHIT, as they try to predetermine public opinion.No-one elects the monarchy .Yes?So we should "just put up with it" .Yes?Even the Irish who were thrown out of their homes by Bigots and snarling Orangemen ? Yes ?If Socialism don't work neither ,frankly does state Capitalism .

  • @poulsontheprick Exactly, he refused to take the oath and didnt take his seat. Skinner is a hypocrite and acting like a petty child when he just mumbles it. He clearly does not have the integrity you claim him to. As for no one electing the monarchy, what about it? Why does that affect it in any way? Legally Parliament gains its authority from the monarch, if you dont like it then dont participate in it. That is our constiution so yes if you dont like it put up or leave.

  • @dbww Nah ! You're missing the point entirely.Skinner doesn't give a rats' ass about the oath cos it is flawed and debases Democracy.By showing open contempt for it is a strength nay often found anymore; his beligerance is admirable to all those who struggle for the end to Class War and by the way several polls in Scotland by the Daily Record have shown over 76% in favour of abolishing the Monarchy...Also in Cananda in Ottowa in Oct, 2009 51% wanted to disconnect from their colonial masters.

  • @poulsontheprick Yes he doesn't believe in the oath and therefore doesnt accept the legitimacy of parliament, which stems from the monarch, yet swears it anyway so he can continue takin 60 grand a year from the people and boosting his ego in the papers. As for the polls in Scotland, I cant find the 1 you refer to but even if they do want to end it that doesnt matter, most people in the UK dont, neither do most in Canada. If I polled BNP members they would all be racist, doesnt mean all brits are

  • @poulsontheprick As for your lack of faith in opinion polls then where do you get your info as to most people wanting to be rid of the monarchy? Is it perhaps your own opinions projected onto others? As for state Captialism not working, no its not as effective as pure capitalism but our living standards today show that it works a damn sight better than Socialism.

  • @dbww You aren't allowed to disrespect the monarchy? What kind of world do you live in? Maybe Dennis doesn't like the fact that the 'people' of Britain are technically 'subjects'.

  • @Electroma94 I never said that you arnt allowed to disrespect the monarcy. Though I personally think that being disrespectful is pointless, rude and shows a lack of intelligent arguement. If Skinner doesn't like being a subject then why does he participate in a body that gains its authority from the Monarch? As I said if he truly opposed taking the oath then he shouldnt take his seat.

  • @dbww Why does the monarchy deserve respect?

  • Comment removed

  • @RichardElden First off, you've used that one previously, it loses the element of shock the second time and leaves you looking sick and pathetic.

Secondly, you are a very disturbed little brat, either you have a really crappy life and irrationally take your anger out on other people in an area where they can't give you a kicking for your arrogance (i.e. the internet) or you need serious counselling. Either way, you have issues. Sort them out and come back as a socially acceptable human being.

  • @RichardElden So you obviously are young then. Quick lesson for you: keep your mouth shut (especially around your intellectual superiors).

Use your imagination a bit, you should be able to figure out alternatives.

None of the above changes the fact that you're a sick little shit of course. If you honestly wish cancer on people, than you really are scum and you either don't really know what you're saying or are so messed up in the head that you should be sectioned under the mental health act.

  • @RichardElden How old are you exactly? You claim to be 19 on your page, you sound like you're 15, or maybe 12.

Do you really think that I'm going to be offended by an uneducated, fanatical monarchist who (judging by your cancer comments) obviously had childhood issues telling me to get a job?

Sort your head out boy, you're pathetic, if you ever become an elected MP, lead your party and hold your seat for 40 years, then you can consider yourself superior to Skinner.

As it stands, you are scum.

  • @RichardElden Wow, internet hard man wishing for the death of an old man. That's really tough. Are you 15 or something?

I doubt you'll ever achieve 1/100th of what Skinner has.

And if your glad to see taxpayers money pissed away on a group of inbreeds, feel free to keep it to yourself you sick little failed abortion.

  • History will record Dennis Skinner as a hero and man of principle in keeping with the founders of the Labour party not just another lobotomised Stepford Wives political robot. Elizabeth tried to get money from the state poverty fund (put aside for schools, hospitals and low income families) to pay Buck palace fuel bills, and she gave Andrew the highest honour she can personally bestow AFTER his links to despots and a convicted paedophile came out. Wake up and smell the monarchy. Join Republic.

  • why would you wish death-by-cancer on anybody? utterly sickening.

  • @RichardElden you're a credit to your parents,you sick little turd

  • @RichardElden what a pleasant comment

  • @karenkitten- you are wholly wrong there. The reason that Sinn Fein do not take their seats is so they don't have to swear the oath, therefore the never serve the Monarch or parliament, but they do constituency work to make their positions valid. And it's not hypocritical for Dennis to mumble the oath as it doesn't mean he's endorsing the queen, only that he recognises that the monarch, as symbolic head of the parliament is sovereign. He makes the point that he disagrees with it by mumbling. He

  • Dennis is a legend

  • Hypocrisy much?

The irony is delicious that he'll swear an oath to The Monarch he claims to dislike. It's up there with the head of sinn fein being appointed to an office under the Crown meaning he's directly serving HM!

  • Good on you Dennis. I'm no socialist, in fact I abhor socialism but I abhor monarchy even more. The Windsors are a sly, manipulative bunch of money grabbing parasites who use their political and social position to abuse the loyalty of arselicking elected politicians.

Elizzbeth and that big eared son of hers refused to pay any taxes at all only to give in to pressure from the then PM because it looked bad for the monarchy.

    Scumbags

  • To the Royal Arselickers on here who wish Skinner dead.. he loves his country not inbred, unelected, parasitic Royals. I hope that he lives for another 15 years instead....

  • @Kevinasp hear hear.

  • @Kevinasp Skinner is the parasite - for years and years drawing his bloated MP's salary for doing bugger all. He is also completely unprincipled - if he hates the oath so much why does he not refuse to take his seat? Ah, because then his constituents would elect someone else and Skinner The Hypocrite would be on the scrap heap where he belongs, unable to earn any kind of living because he knows fuck all about anything except pouncing off the taxpayer.

  • How do Royalists who are Atheists go on when the national anthem is played? Dennis Skinner is a legend and one of the few MP's in Parliament who speaks the truth.

  • @Kevinasp

Because one can sing the national anthem for what it represents, not because of what the words are.

  • @Myles0Harcourt No, you are still singing about a God which there is no proof exists....

  • @Kevinasp

Similarly, how do Serbian atheists manage to be patriotic to Serbia and sing their national anthem "God of Justice"?

Similarly the Ghanians and Kenyans, which are republics and yet have national anthems involving God.

And the Fijians, who, although a commonwealth realm, have a national anthem asking God to Bless Fiji. The reason is that all people can sing those national anthems as they represent their countries, as I do for UK, without actually having to believe in God.

  • Skinner stood for election and won. Who the fuck elected the Queen? Why should he swear an oath of allegiance to her? He should swear one to his constituency and the people who elected him. Get rid of the German inbreds. Upper-class social security scroungers. They are a set of posh Jeremy Kyle contestants.

  • @Kevinasp Isn't that a classic case of out-and-out racism? What do you know about Germany? How many Germans do you know? You should chose your words more carefully...and stop being so angry!

  • @RichardElden I hope he doesn't die this year or next, he loves his COUNTRY not Royal parasites.

  • He he How the Mighty fall. To Her Majesty's lap, apparently.

  • Stupid hipocrit patriotism and loyalty are what seperate us from idiots and there must always be a higher power to look to in any form of goverment

  • @RichardElden Of course you are, as I'm sure many of your cruel, hate-filled, right-wing associates are. You are a cunt who is behaving like a cunt, and your true colours are visible for all to see.

  • Un-Elected Head of State and Un-Elected House of Lords = Dictatorship dressed like a Democracy whore.

The French had the right idea.

  • @Tzimnewman3 The 2 houses you stated above were not meant to be democratic.

The French helped create the EU, which is anti-democratic, so no they did not have the right idea.

  • If he disagree's so much with the Monarchy why did he join the House of Lords, which would automatically give him an title and rank in order of precedence, ovb he doesn't mind if he is benifiting

  • Pathetic! If i were elected to the commons and wanted rid of the oath, i would refuse and call a by-election on the basis that my oath is to the people and not monarchy. If i lost the by election because of my refusal to take the queen's oath, then so be it!!

  • hahahahaaaaaaaaa

  • A German royal? He isn't a communist if he sticks up for the working class people! He isn't a communist if he speaks out against these baffoons in power now... Cutting everything bar the pockets of the rich who put them there!

  • Long may she reign.

Dennis Skinner. Republican, communist cunt of the highest order.

If Mr Skinner wants to move to a soulless, traditionless, Republican system, where we have a pointless Presidential figurehead like Germany or Italy then i suggest he moves to a country where this is the case and stop trying to vandalise the constitutional foundations of Her Majesty's United Kingdom.

  • @Maino88

And soulless can be extended to the Queen and her Royal scavengers, who treat ordinary people with the utmost contempt by calling us "subjects".

Well, guess what? I refuse to be called a "subject" by a bunch of self serviant upper class tw@ts like the Windsors.

  • @Maino88

And soulless can be extended to the Queen and her Royal scavengers, who treat ordinary people with the utmost contempt by calling us "subjects".

Well, guess what? I refuse to be called a "subject" by a bunch of self serviant upper class tw@ts like the Windsors.

  • If a Congressman who wants a royal form of government in the U.S. mumbles through the oath to defend the Constitution, should he/she be seated? I don't think so.

  • If they don't take the oath they shouldn't be allowed to take their seat. Its as simple as that.

  • @american2015 Why?

  • God save the queen The fascist regime They made you a moron Potential H-bomb God save the queen She ain't no human being There is no future In England's dreaming Don't be told what you want Don't be told what you need There's no future, no future, No future for you God save the queen We mean it man We love our queen God saves God save the queen 'Cause tourists are money And our figurehead Is not what she seems Oh God save history God save your mad parade
  • But law is law. Either he takes the Oath dutifully or seeks a parliamentary or judicial exception. To mumble makes one believe his point is just mumble.

  • Erm, re: the last comments - seek professional help!

  • continued...

the reason why the crown ties us all is because the devolution process will continue and even succeed with separate republics if the crown is gone.

a codified constitution will be drawn up and of course the SNP, plaid Cymru and sinn fein would then question if they want to join the United Republics of Britannia a concept Which I don't think works.

    GOD SAVE THE SOVEREIGN!!!

  • God Save The Queen

God Save the Keeper of the Faith

God save Those impertinent Republican fools for uttering words of treason and the break up of the UK.

You Republican swines should realise that the Queen is the most powerful seat in the world. even the US president respects the Queen and most of the money she gets is off her own back as head of state of 16 countries other than our own so the crown plays a diplomatic role as the crown ties us to everything and the UK itself...

  • @fdmarminy hahhahahahahaha. "The Queen is the most powerful seat in the world". You absolute idiot.

  • @TehWinnerz

Last time I checked arsehole that the Queen was the head of state of 16 countries other than our own with so many diplomatic links across the world, she is the influence of the UK, an influence that even the president of the US behaves himself for when meeting the Queen.

  • @fdmarminy yes, Obama is polite to, and respects the Queen. Of course he does, why wouldn't he, but she's not the most powerful person in the world you dummy!

  • @fdmarminy The most powerful job in the world is the leader of China. The Queen is not powerful, she's only there to represent the UK, not control it.

  • i love dennis fuck the queen

  • @fuzzgog The thing is this old bastard will be dead soon and the monarchy will live on.

  • @charlesdcw1990 and so will Skinner's beliefs. Just because you don't like him doesn't hide the fact that he has many many people who agree with him.

  • god does not teach the rich to steal from the poor , which is exactly what the royal family have done for hundreds of years.

it is the queen and the rest of her greedy rabble who should be put in the tower of london for theft on a grand scale.

why should hard pressed working people pay for the royal family,s 'grace and favour' homes and all their luxury ???

to me the royal family are a wicked and spiteful bunch of nazis who most people in this country , quite rightly dont give a shit about.

  • @hammys123 what the fuck has god got to do with anything

  • @fuzzgog did you seriously just ask what go has to do with anything??? are u serious or was this a joke?

  • @hammys123 The Queen is the head of state you degenerative fool.

It is a very hard job.

  • How dare he!

He should be sent to the Tower of London awaiting trial for insubordination and blasphemy.

The Queen is mandated by the Holy Spirit to rule over Albion

Disrespecting God's anointed representative is defying God Himself

  • @alwaysbehumble You're joking?

  • @alwaysbehumble you pay 4 her then shes a leech

  • LONG MAY SHE REIGN!!!!!

  • @charlesdcw1990 kill them all

  • ... listen comrades, it is a parliamentary dictatorship anyway ... !

  • dick!

  • Good ol' uncle Den. He couldn't give a toss about the queen, the monarchy and the pomp and ceremony of parliament. They're a total waste of money and space in his eyes and he's right. He has to read that drivel out so he can sit in the house of commons and represent the people who voted him in. End.

  • A nice fuck you to the Royal Family!

  • @Nosmos: Not really, he swore the oath which if he wants to remain in Parliament he has to abide by which means serve the Queen's government

  • Not many like Dennis Skinner.
