U SHOULD GET POKET NIVE AND COMPASS U SHOULD GET RIDE OF ALL THE STRING AND GET A FISHING LINE IT IS BETTER THAN YOURS AND YOU MUST GET MORE THAN 12 FLARE'S BAND AIDS WATER PROVE CANDLE
Large garbage bag - use as emergency rain poncho, shelter (stuff with dead leaves) - folds flat, will fit in your back pocket
Tea bag, candy bar, meal bar
Small first aid supplies - band aids, aspirin, alcohol pad (can also be used in fire starting), single use packs for various things like antiobiotic, diarrhea, burns, etc.
Water carrier - could be just a one quart zip loc pouch. Otherwise, what were you going to mix the iodine and water in?
Again, great job as far as you take it. Don't ever be satisfied with it though. I've had various survival kits (home, car, EDC, etc.) for years and am still trying to improve them.
What were the needles for? I saw no thread.
And yes, a knife is important. In some of my kits I have a scalpel instead of a knife - much sharper and saves a lot of space. Unless you plan on whittling a lot, a scalpel will work fine
I think that was a petty good survival kit maybe you should have a pocket nife in it to cut the sring and cut a can in half to use ishing line to catch fish I learned that from man vs wild
Good survival philosophy... glad I didn't see fish hooks and sinkers! Always fish after you are rescued. Although fishing can be theraputic and fun, it usually takes time away from protecting from exposure, signaling for help or navigating to safety. Good job!
@stealth560 "a CELL PHONE" i wouldnt put a cell in, because alot of places you would need that pack would be out of coverage. I have a CB Radio locked on CH 05. I would recommend a satelite phone or a radio.
some band aids and mabye money mabye if you found a shop an d was hungry change not notes incass if they get wet and mabye change to a metal tin for more waterprof safey and add a knife o cut suff you got all that rope and duck tape and no knife to cut it with apart from that very good video
dude whats up with this no pocket knife i mean what the hell how are you going to eat or cut your sring i suggest a swissarmy or a military survival knife.
A space blanket would be a good addition. It's a large blanket that keeps you very warm, and it folds up to the size of a wallet. It is reflective, and it costs 2 bucks. You didn't add anything for shelter, so that will come in handy. A knife will also be good.
Electroinic lighters work better when you're hands are wet than flint strikes and some tinder would be usefull. Otherwise it's a nice compact kit designed to do what you want.
@chris35128 The Flare pen is a TruFlare launcher you can get them at any outdoor sports store. They can launch 3 different color flares Red (emergency), White (locater), or Green (all clear). It also launches signal whistles (can scare away animals) and Bear Bangers (to scare away bears and other predators).
@chris35128 Google "pen flares" to find sources (duh), but you can get them at American Specialty Ammo dotcom (Pen Flare guns) and truflareusa dotcom (single-shot) and macecanada dotcom (Signal_Kits1). Aerial flares are illegal in some counties and states unless you're in a survival situation, so check your local laws
Survival kits should have at least three ways to make fire. I would suggest you could add a flint and steel striker.
Perhaps a small button compass.
Shelter is #1 importance, because you can die overnight from hypothermia. Add a space blanket or large garbage bag (which can be made into a rain poncho.)
@skecanj how do you "soak" a cotton ball in vaseline, last time i checked vaseline was a gel like substance..you cant soak a gel that wont liquify at room temp..
@PUNKROCKINTHISSHIT At room temp vaseline is very soft and while it isn't pure liquid, you can work it into the cotton ball, mush it around, then put it in a small baggie where it will "soak" up the vaseline. When I take my vaseline cotton balls out to light them, they are pretty well saturated with vaseline.
@kambelzful - I don't recall saying specifically that band aids can save your life, but actually now that I think about it they might. For one, band aids can be used as tinder to start a fire.
Also, although it's a little far-fetched, in theory without a band aid covering a wound you could get a bacterial infection, which could lead to sepsis (check it on Wikipedia) and possible death. It's much more difficult to stay clean and infection-free in a survival situation.
you should add a knife in there mainly because you will need it to make spears in case of wild animals and i also suggest you get some rope or twine and maybe some little fishing weights for if you make a fishing pole
I would suggest: Showing your knife in the video since everyone tinks you carry one on your belt, a small sharpening stone, more purification tablets, an empty soup can to hold water not to mention boil it, possibly some bullion chicken or beef doesn't matter, a few tea bags, and a high calorie bar or 2. You need all the calories you can get in a survival situation. That's not a bad kit for highly traveled areas like hiking trails! Good job though!!
Strange as this may sounds but add a mini blank paper pad and pencil: You can make notes on safe and/or dangerous areas, reminders on what's edible and to keep a log on yourself and your wellbeing. Not to mention, the paper in the pad makes nice fuel for fire and the pencil can be sharpened to make it a makeshift weapon. Just a thought.
too many fire items, just use flint and a stricker, works wet or dry any time. Also, a space blanket would be key, but i like the signal flare pen and mirror.

this isnt a rllly good vid. sry but i dont think u ever use this pack and i dont thinnk u now alot about survival u just got that pack and are showing people it. survival isnt the pack its about being outside which u prob. never do
i reccomend that you get 3 lil packets or bottles of distilled water, peroxide, and rubbing alcohol, and human flesh sewing thread, and im not sure that ur thread that u have is meant for that but yea...the reason for the peroxide, rubbing alcohol, and distilled water is,the alcohol is for cleaning and sterilizing wounds and flesh.the peroxide is for daily treatment after the stitching of a wound and the distilled water is for irrigating a deep cut to get rid of dirt particles and infections...pc3

Where's your knife? & why double up on fire lighting (you have strike anywhere matches) why double up on cord. your survival kit could be maybe 30% lighter.
hay man nice kit , in your fire lighting kit sound weerd but a few tampons easyest wat 2 carry cotton wool and thay shrink raped so thays water resistant
get out withen 5-6 hours maybe less or more depends where u live so get the hell out or if u want to stay to be nuled fine with me not to be mean just telling what can happen well i have been yaking fuor realy long times and if u want to know more about some ideas then do whatever to uh commet messeg me on youtube yeah i'm outa here for now
i'm good cause one of my friends can stick with me he has a hand gun and onther has two shotguns one germen rifle from world war two (yes its been cleaned and he has ammo)so then we can get in my truck with all the essentrails we need help ppl and get the hell out if u have read the zombie survival guide then most likely i would be in a class 3 outbreak cause of where i live so the milatary would get in it right away and sanatize the area but they would make a barricade and c if any survivers
back pack*)but yeah umm have some close range wepons with u if u run out of ammo wth ur wepons check cop bodys for ammo if there on the ground shoot them in the head to make sure there not a zombie grab uzis, shotguns, snipers, some machine guns, submachine guns, for close range Dont have a small pocket knife get a butcher knife or shovles, cleavers, sticks that u can stab with ect... also ur kit was cool i'm trying to make mine i'm getting the rifle first though once i have the rifle
hey did anyone say about you getting a back back and some guns?cause i got to addmit it u need some bigger things to keep zombies away like get two or three hand guns with around 30 shells for each gun then buy a rifle for long range sure it is expinsive but hey what if there is a zombie atk lol get a medicle kit then one flash light that as a stand for a distraction if u need an excape (run like hell) get some ppl to help u expt if there bit shoot once in the head again after there dead
nice kit but i would put in a striker for the strike anywhere matches. i went camping one time and brought them in a bottle like that but all the rocks were wet so they broke apart. i had a lighter but that was a learning experience.
nice survival kit but i think you should of had fishing weights and hooks and a small blade to make a spear if need be also asprin and bion cubes for energy
i would add at least a small knife, and toss the flashlight and get a photon light. other than that pretty good set up i like the flare pen good for starting fires!!!
-get rid of the matches and lighter they are a pain to worry about them getting wet and get some flint and steel it works when wet and with lots of practices it is just as easy as matches
-if u need more room toss the flashlight u don't need it
you should have a knife in there, you may carry one on your belt or in your pocket but you could lose these and without a knife you can't survive long
i disagree with not being able to survive without a knife, you can use stone tools to do any job steel can do,however it is a good idea to pack one as it makes life easier, flint can be found in upturned trees
i'm not really into arguing with people but it all depends on the individuals knowledge of how to survive in any given enviroment, all weapons can be made from natural resources, everything can be made to survive for long very long periods of time, like i said ,it all depends on the individuals knowledge.
band aids their always handy when you get cut or somthing and i my kit i have dental floss i dont have it to clean my teeth with but to use it like a string becaus it is really solid
A condom (stop sniggering) for water carrying(put itin a sock for strength) and other usefull stuff, and a tampon- open it out and it takes the spark from the sweedish fire steel that i would also have very well. get rid of the fire kit.
i agree! or u could collect some nice tinder such as redwood shaving and put it into a small plastic bag for tinder and yeah i strongly recommend some Swedish firesteel(flint and steel basically) and then u really need a sturdy survival knife.... i recommend sog knives or if u really want to spend some money get the Tops- Tom Brown tracker knife!!! it is the ultimate survival knife
I'd recommend a small vial (or test tube) of Potassium Permanganate (KMn04). [Available at Lowe's] If you get stranded on the road in Nowhere, USA you can mix a little bit with antifreeze to create a spontaneous, exothermic chemical reaction to start a fire. You can add a pinch of it to water (makes it pink) to sterilize it (don't drink it)...adding a little more to water makes it an antiseptic...adding even more (even darker hue) makes it a good antifungal solution (e.g., athlete's foot).
I would say a knife or if you carry one in your pocket or something, a backup knife would be good to add. A little card of fishing line and couple of fishing hooks wouldn't hurt to have either and they weigh nothing. Other than that, great pack. 5/5
Not bad at all; lightweight, efficient & compact. Got any other stuff that might help you in a survival situation? I'd like to see more video's from you. 5/5
You shood put a pocket knife in it or put well thats all i got

Good - that you have a redundant system for lighting a fire.
Very resourceful, using the waxed box lid. Resourcefulness is one of the prime elements in staying alive.
Flare pen - good idea. Try it before you go out & watch the expiration dates.
skecanj 5 months ago
More things to consider:
You can buy a water filter straw for about $20 or less - will last longer than the iodine pills (they will expire).
Small container - tin cup, etc. - to boil water in, make pine needle tea in, etc.
Batteries are OK if they are fresh.
What you call "just some wire" is supposed to function as snare wire - for meat!
skecanj 5 months ago
Some other things to consider:
Large garbage bag - use as emergency rain poncho, shelter (stuff with dead leaves) - folds flat, will fit in your back pocket
Tea bag, candy bar, meal bar

AirEatsBeats 3 years ago
nice kit but i would put in a striker for the strike anywhere matches. i went camping one time and brought them in a bottle like that but all the rocks were wet so they broke apart. i had a lighter but that was a learning experience.
nice kit

yetipeople 3 years ago
This is great, dude. I would put it in a tin instead, for boiling water and stuff
benfinns 3 years ago
nice survival kit but i think you should of had fishing weights and hooks and a small blade to make a spear if need be also asprin and bion cubes for energy
baldirican 3 years ago
i would add at least a small knife, and toss the flashlight and get a photon light. other than that pretty good set up i like the flare pen good for starting fires!!!

where u get flare pen?
airs0ft4life 3 years ago
You should add a magnesium fire starter.
listentoacdc2 3 years ago
things u should add
-knife
-fishing line 20 pound test use it in snares also
-a different container something you can cook in
-some char cloth
-bailing twine great fire starter and use as rope
-zip lock bag
-small pieces candy
-get rid of the matches and lighter they are a pain to worry about them getting wet and get some flint and steel it works when wet and with lots of practices it is just as easy as matches
-if u need more room toss the flashlight u don't need it

my survival kit consists of ray mears... lol j/k
dukcaboose 3 years ago
you should have a knife in there, you may carry one on your belt or in your pocket but you could lose these and without a knife you can't survive long
assassin616 3 years ago
i disagree with not being able to survive without a knife, you can use stone tools to do any job steel can do,however it is a good idea to pack one as it makes life easier, flint can be found in upturned trees
Locris2007 3 years ago
i didn't say that you couldn't survive but to survive long time you may need a knife to "make a spear for hunting" ect
assassin616 3 years ago
i'm not really into arguing with people but it all depends on the individuals knowledge of how to survive in any given enviroment, all weapons can be made from natural resources, everything can be made to survive for long very long periods of time, like i said ,it all depends on the individuals knowledge.
Locris2007 3 years ago
if you can make things using natural resources then you dont then i agree, you dont need a knife
assassin616 3 years ago
you need a little knife and u can find a stick and make a spear

Hi, great survival kit.
Anyway I think you should add:
- knife (or swiss Victorinox)
- water bag
- hooks, fishing line
- some aspirine or paracetamol pills
Maybe it is good idea to put everything into aluminium box rather than bag. Aluminium box could be used for boil a water.
Peace!

A condom (stop sniggering) for water carrying(put itin a sock for strength) and other usefull stuff, and a tampon- open it out and it takes the spark from the sweedish fire steel that i would also have very well. get rid of the fire kit.
dk24d56d 3 years ago 3
i agree! or u could collect some nice tinder such as redwood shaving and put it into a small plastic bag for tinder and yeah i strongly recommend some Swedish firesteel(flint and steel basically) and then u really need a sturdy survival knife.... i recommend sog knives or if u really want to spend some money get the Tops- Tom Brown tracker knife!!! it is the ultimate survival knife

You can add a pinch of it to water (makes it pink) to sterilize it (don't drink it)...adding a little more to water makes it an antiseptic...adding even more (even darker hue) makes it a good antifungal solution (e.g., athlete's foot).

umm a small kno3 and sugar smoke bomb
malok111 3 years ago
I would say a knife or if you carry one in your pocket or something, a backup knife would be good to add. A little card of fishing line and couple of fishing hooks wouldn't hurt to have either and they weigh nothing. Other than that, great pack. 5/5

Not bad at all; lightweight, efficient & compact. Got any other stuff that might help you in a survival situation? I'd like to see more video's from you. 5/5
