  • You shood put a pocket knife in it or put well thats all i got

  • U SHOULD GET POKET NIVE AND COMPASS U SHOULD GET RIDE OF ALL THE STRING AND GET A FISHING LINE IT IS BETTER THAN YOURS AND YOU MUST GET MORE THAN 12 FLARE'S BAND AIDS WATER PROVE CANDLE

  • Dip the matches in wax to make them waterproof

  • Good - that you have a redundant system for lighting a fire.

Very resourceful, using the waxed box lid. Resourcefulness is one of the prime elements in staying alive.

Flare pen - good idea. Try it before you go out & watch the expiration dates.

  • More things to consider:

You can buy a water filter straw for about $20 or less - will last longer than the iodine pills (they will expire).

Small container - tin cup, etc. - to boil water in, make pine needle tea in, etc.

Batteries are OK if they are fresh.

What you call "just some wire" is supposed to function as snare wire - for meat!

  • Some other things to consider:

Large garbage bag - use as emergency rain poncho, shelter (stuff with dead leaves) - folds flat, will fit in your back pocket

Tea bag, candy bar, meal bar

Small first aid supplies - band aids, aspirin, alcohol pad (can also be used in fire starting), single use packs for various things like antiobiotic, diarrhea, burns, etc.

Water carrier - could be just a one quart zip loc pouch. Otherwise, what were you going to mix the iodine and water in?

  • Again, great job as far as you take it. Don't ever be satisfied with it though. I've had various survival kits (home, car, EDC, etc.) for years and am still trying to improve them.

What were the needles for? I saw no thread.

And yes, a knife is important. In some of my kits I have a scalpel instead of a knife - much sharper and saves a lot of space. Unless you plan on whittling a lot, a scalpel will work fine

  • @skecanj scalpel blade, that is.

  • Cool.What about a Leatherman?

  • I think that was a petty good survival kit maybe you should have a pocket nife in it to cut the sring and cut a can in half to use ishing line to catch fish I learned that from man vs wild

  • wheir did u buy it at

  • Good survival philosophy... glad I didn't see fish hooks and sinkers! Always fish after you are rescued. Although fishing can be theraputic and fun, it usually takes time away from protecting from exposure, signaling for help or navigating to safety. Good job!

  • Whats the paper and duck tape for??

  • i have a couple cigars a diapers and a sheet of cloth

  • add a knife to it

  • i think u should add a knife to the kit

  • LIST OF THING YOU CN PUT IN THEIR:

    1. a solar lights

    2. a FLASH LIGH

    3. a KBAR SURVIAVAL KNIFE

    4. FLARE GUN GIGANTIC VERSION the SEMI-auto

    5. a tent

    6.a CELL PHONE

    7. a GPS

    8. and a PISTOL or machine pistol G18

  • @stealth560 "a CELL PHONE" i wouldnt put a cell in, because alot of places you would need that pack would be out of coverage. I have a CB Radio locked on CH 05. I would recommend a satelite phone or a radio.

  • put a knife in there

  • charred cloth would be good and use like a small tin for the flares...i like the flares idea i might star carying sparkler

  • Your missing a Pistol....

  • if i was u i would have a small compact knife in there to (just if u need it)

  • Iodine tablets are bad for your health and are the leading cause of misuse of purification tablets. Try using the chrlorine based ones.

  • some band aids and mabye money mabye if you found a shop an d was hungry change not notes incass if they get wet and mabye change to a metal tin for more waterprof safey and add a knife o cut suff you got all that rope and duck tape and no knife to cut it with apart from that very good video

  • Dude, chuck that noname lighter made in vietnam and get a real BIC made in france.

  • U should have a knife a preetty sharp knif small ones are sharp too I meisium knif should do

  • u should hav a pocket knife and a flint stick,it helps alot.

  • wheres the knife why dont you have a kinife? it the most important over all the stuff you have!! (well, fire is important too).

  • why dont you have a kinife

  • dude whats up with this no pocket knife i mean what the hell how are you going to eat or cut your sring i suggest a swissarmy or a military survival knife.

  • you should add a small knife and some medical supplies

  • where do you get a flare pen

  • You should use petroleum dipped cotton balls Very good tinder

  • A space blanket would be a good addition. It's a large blanket that keeps you very warm, and it folds up to the size of a wallet. It is reflective, and it costs 2 bucks. You didn't add anything for shelter, so that will come in handy. A knife will also be good.

  • add a swiss army knife

  • i reckon u should ad a flint instead of the matches

(if ure g ood with a flint)

  • Your fisre strting kit will not work when you need it.

The plastic box will capture moisture and get everything damp.

I suggest a Striker or magnisum and striker set up.

    Works while wet.

  • nife

  • hi guys ..Does anybody know what were trying to survive!!

  • @Moondogzzz omg ur an idiot...

its for hiking or for when u get lost

  • you guys make me think my kits too big lol. where you get that small case from?

  • add a swedish fire stick too

  • add a small pocket knife

  • Where Can I Get A Flare Pen??

  • Ubutu Mawengwe

  • toliet paper for taking a dump..

  • Electroinic lighters work better when you're hands are wet than flint strikes and some tinder would be usefull. Otherwise it's a nice compact kit designed to do what you want.

  • STOP COUNTING GRAMS AND OUNCES just get what you need whether its heavy or not, lazy people.

  • Ever been hiking and have to carry your gear??

  • nope, my butler does that for me.

  • you need an inflatable doll and a puncture repair kit

  • you should have fishing line

  • Hey Can I Ask You One Thing?

    Where Did You Get The...

    Flare Pen & Flare's?

  • @chris35128 The Flare pen is a TruFlare launcher you can get them at any outdoor sports store. They can launch 3 different color flares Red (emergency), White (locater), or Green (all clear). It also launches signal whistles (can scare away animals) and Bear Bangers (to scare away bears and other predators).

  • @chris35128 Google "pen flares" to find sources (duh), but you can get them at American Specialty Ammo dotcom (Pen Flare guns) and truflareusa dotcom (single-shot) and macecanada dotcom (Signal_Kits1). Aerial flares are illegal in some counties and states unless you're in a survival situation, so check your local laws

  • My suggestions:

Survival kits should have at least three ways to make fire. I would suggest you could add a flint and steel striker.

    Perhaps a small button compass.

Shelter is #1 importance, because you can die overnight from hypothermia. Add a space blanket or large garbage bag (which can be made into a rain poncho.)

Cotton ball soaked in vaseline for tinder.

    Band-aids

    Wooden matches, not paper.

    Birthday candle

    Aspirin or Tylenol

  • @skecanj how do you "soak" a cotton ball in vaseline, last time i checked vaseline was a gel like substance..you cant soak a gel that wont liquify at room temp..

  • @PUNKROCKINTHISSHIT At room temp vaseline is very soft and while it isn't pure liquid, you can work it into the cotton ball, mush it around, then put it in a small baggie where it will "soak" up the vaseline. When I take my vaseline cotton balls out to light them, they are pretty well saturated with vaseline.

  • @PUNKROCKINTHISSHIT OK, saturate it... put a lot of Vaseline in it... shove the Vaseline into the cotton ball... I think you get the picture now.

  • Comment removed

  • @skecanj

Yeah, my primary fire source for when I'm hiking in the mountain areas of where I live, if a flint striker and 2 Bic lighters

  • @skecanj In term his flare pen can light a fire if done right

  • @zhart217 I spent some time getting steel wool to ignite using batteries. I would suggest you try it before you leave home.

  • @skecanj how do band-aids save your life???

  • @kambelzful - I don't recall saying specifically that band aids can save your life, but actually now that I think about it they might. For one, band aids can be used as tinder to start a fire.

Also, although it's a little far-fetched, in theory without a band aid covering a wound you could get a bacterial infection, which could lead to sepsis (check it on Wikipedia) and possible death. It's much more difficult to stay clean and infection-free in a survival situation.

  • you should add a knife in there mainly because you will need it to make spears in case of wild animals and i also suggest you get some rope or twine and maybe some little fishing weights for if you make a fishing pole

  • I would suggest: Showing your knife in the video since everyone tinks you carry one on your belt, a small sharpening stone, more purification tablets, an empty soup can to hold water not to mention boil it, possibly some bullion chicken or beef doesn't matter, a few tea bags, and a high calorie bar or 2. You need all the calories you can get in a survival situation. That's not a bad kit for highly traveled areas like hiking trails! Good job though!!

  • dude it may sounddumb bt mabie a light my fire stricker incase you run out of matches and your lighter stops working

  • is a 12'x24' tarp to big for my survival kit?

  • you need a knife

  • He has a knife, its not in the kit, its on his belt. People keep saying he needs a knife, but he already has one.

  • u should put tweezers or sum rubber bands.

  • its a very small flare gun. its called a "pen" because it looks so much like one you could mistake it for one.

  • Strange as this may sounds but add a mini blank paper pad and pencil: You can make notes on safe and/or dangerous areas, reminders on what's edible and to keep a log on yourself and your wellbeing. Not to mention, the paper in the pad makes nice fuel for fire and the pencil can be sharpened to make it a makeshift weapon. Just a thought.

  • A waterproof and shockproof mechanical analog watch, so you can use it as a compass with the sun.

  • The problem with a knife is you might stab your self in the eye, Which would be bad in a survival situation. ;)

  • kkkkkkkkknnnnnnnniiiiiiiiffffffffeeeeeee knife

  • you should put a knife in it for protection in the woods

  • Nice kit !!

  • Do you carry a first aid kit separate? What about bandaids and things of that nature? Itch cream? Just wondering...

  • compass

  • Where can i buy a flare pen?

  • too many fire items, just use flint and a stricker, works wet or dry any time. Also, a space blanket would be key, but i like the signal flare pen and mirror.

  • you idiot the whole idea of a survival kit is to stay alive not being found because you wont get found right off, you might never get found

  • you need a knife you idiot

  • magnifying glass always useful

  • i dont know how you can get the stuffed matches out of the crammed kit?!?!?!?

  • Kudos on the Flare pin!

  • i reccomend that you get 3 lil packets or bottles of distilled water, peroxide, and rubbing alcohol, and human flesh sewing thread, and im not sure that ur thread that u have is meant for that but yea...the reason for the peroxide, rubbing alcohol, and distilled water is,the alcohol is for cleaning and sterilizing wounds and flesh.the peroxide is for daily treatment after the stitching of a wound and the distilled water is for irrigating a deep cut to get rid of dirt particles and infections...pc3

  • I need a flair pen

  • what is a flare pen?

  • you need a multi tool knife

  • you are a lifegaurd arnt you

  • Reveiw : I find it most certantly neccesary to have foil with you at all times one large peice one smalll you would be pretty amazed at what it does. 4 out of 5

  • i recomend some tin foil (used for signaling or cooking) and a small pocket knife, still gud kit

  • Nice kit,but u should add a knife,compass,tape and maybe some tin foil...but its only a suggestion.

  • Add A Space Blanket

  • a knife

  • ANYONE!! who carries around a kit like this is asking to get lost

  • omg.. when comes the elephant and the bird cage out the pocket?

  • add a compose and steel whole and a 9 vott the steel whole will ingite even win wit

  • Comment removed

  • buy a fucking dictionary dickhead

  • once the iodine tabs are removed from the sealed jar they loose half their shelf life and it looks if you have them repackaged in a plastic bag? if that is right, they will only stay good enough to do their job for a couple of days

  • you could add fire steel

  • you should put a Zippo and a compass in there

  • Where's your knife? & why double up on fire lighting (you have strike anywhere matches) why double up on cord. your survival kit could be maybe 30% lighter.

  • hay man nice kit , in your fire lighting kit sound weerd but a few tampons easyest wat 2 carry cotton wool and thay shrink raped so thays water resistant

  • just a helpful hint...u dont want to pack a bunch of strick anywhere matches in a container like that...could be a mess buddy...

  • bring a condom and lube

  • i suggest some bandages ointment gauze a knife of any sort some power bars and a small hatchet/axe

  • that was all aimed at whitewolf are whatever the name is

  • where did you get the flares and the pen?

  • sorry i accidently hit post comment. Anyways in my survival kit i keep

    two pices of magnesium flint

    some twine

    bandages

    bandaids

    disinfectant

    tinfoil

    a signaling mirror

and im not crazy about knives in a survival kit but i kkeep one just in cae i need it

  • You should really have some sort of blade...

    And chicken powder

  • all I need is a pack of 6 condoms baby.

  • you should keep a piece of magnesium flint just in case you run out of matches, or you wet your lighter or somthing

  • chicken powder

  • what is chicken powder?

  • dude 247 grams that is way to heavy u should have that much loose some stuff

  • pocket knife

  • omg noob

  • omg noob, what in the hell are you talking about? SERIOUSLY?! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU RAMBLING ABOUT?

  • where do you think that i could get some flares like those that you have and by the way nice kit

  • put a swiss army knife in the survival kit

  • why do ppl carry credit cards? wat do u use them for

  • nice kit but i would put in a striker for the strike anywhere matches. i went camping one time and brought them in a bottle like that but all the rocks were wet so they broke apart. i had a lighter but that was a learning experience.

    nice kit

  • a small knife.

  • man all these small kits make my backpack kit huge

  • great kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude, no respectable man makes a survival kit with no swiss army knife.

  • This is great, dude. I would put it in a tin instead, for boiling water and stuff

  • nice survival kit but i think you should of had fishing weights and hooks and a small blade to make a spear if need be also asprin and bion cubes for energy

  • i would add at least a small knife, and toss the flashlight and get a photon light. other than that pretty good set up i like the flare pen good for starting fires!!!

  • esta muy viejo para esos videos señor.

  • u scared me for a sec... it's 247... grams

  • where u get flare pen?

  • You should add a magnesium fire starter.

  • things u should add

    -knife

-fishing line 20 pound test use it in snares also

-a different container something you can cook in

    -some char cloth

-bailing twine great fire starter and use as rope

    -zip lock bag

    -small pieces candy

-get rid of the matches and lighter they are a pain to worry about them getting wet and get some flint and steel it works when wet and with lots of practices it is just as easy as matches

-if u need more room toss the flashlight u don't need it

  • my survival kit consists of ray mears... lol j/k

  • you should have a knife in there, you may carry one on your belt or in your pocket but you could lose these and without a knife you can't survive long

  • i disagree with not being able to survive without a knife, you can use stone tools to do any job steel can do,however it is a good idea to pack one as it makes life easier, flint can be found in upturned trees

  • i didn't say that you couldn't survive but to survive long time you may need a knife to "make a spear for hunting" ect

  • i'm not really into arguing with people but it all depends on the individuals knowledge of how to survive in any given enviroment, all weapons can be made from natural resources, everything can be made to survive for long very long periods of time, like i said ,it all depends on the individuals knowledge.

  • if you can make things using natural resources then you dont then i agree, you dont need a knife

  • you need a little knife and u can find a stick and make a spear

  • mine a satilite phone dua you mocho bastards lol jk

  • band aids their always handy when you get cut or somthing and i my kit i have dental floss i dont have it to clean my teeth with but to use it like a string becaus it is really solid

  • my survival kit consists of

    small flares

    flashlight

    compose

    band aids

    painkillers

    swiss army knife

    similar fire kit

    whistle

    canteen

  • Hi, great survival kit.

Anyway I think you should add:

    - knife (or swiss Victorinox)

    - water bag

    - hooks, fishing line

    - some aspirine or paracetamol pills

Maybe it is good idea to put everything into aluminium box rather than bag. Aluminium box could be used for boil a water.

    Peace!

  • A condom (stop sniggering) for water carrying(put itin a sock for strength) and other usefull stuff, and a tampon- open it out and it takes the spark from the sweedish fire steel that i would also have very well. get rid of the fire kit.

  • i agree! or u could collect some nice tinder such as redwood shaving and put it into a small plastic bag for tinder and yeah i strongly recommend some Swedish firesteel(flint and steel basically) and then u really need a sturdy survival knife.... i recommend sog knives or if u really want to spend some money get the Tops- Tom Brown tracker knife!!! it is the ultimate survival knife

  • not good low

  • I'd recommend a small vial (or test tube) of Potassium Permanganate (KMn04). [Available at Lowe's] If you get stranded on the road in Nowhere, USA you can mix a little bit with antifreeze to create a spontaneous, exothermic chemical reaction to start a fire. You can add a pinch of it to water (makes it pink) to sterilize it (don't drink it)...adding a little more to water makes it an antiseptic...adding even more (even darker hue) makes it a good antifungal solution (e.g., athlete's foot).

  • What pen flare is that?

  • im not sure what brand or anything, but it fires rimfire carterages

  • umm a small kno3 and sugar smoke bomb

  • I would say a knife or if you carry one in your pocket or something, a backup knife would be good to add. A little card of fishing line and couple of fishing hooks wouldn't hurt to have either and they weigh nothing. Other than that, great pack. 5/5

  • Not bad at all; lightweight, efficient & compact. Got any other stuff that might help you in a survival situation? I'd like to see more video's from you. 5/5

  • also an extra shirt and shorts

  • what about 1 of those masks used for CPR?

  • I've got one of thoes in my first aid kit, but nice insight, thanks :)

  • ok so gust put a fishing kit because what if you dont get found how would you eat

  • i would put gust a few fishing things in there

  • Please tell, im always looking for new ideas
