Gt3 has to be one of the best racing games ever. But you know what really confuses me? How the fuck did gt3 have weather, night time driving and rally racing but forza motor sport 4 doesnt. Motorsport 4 is a major fail imo and this is coming from a 360 owner
@TheWhiz93 They only fucked it up in GT3 in the sense that they made it a lot more realistic. On pavement, the understeer would be awful. The GT2 version was totally unrealistic.
@MrBitchen Yh definately. Infact that Car was too good on GT2. Compare the way the cars handle and the game physics change in both games and u see a big difference.
@NgineerY It keeps the car from spinning out. It also makes turning a little more difficult to me. I never use it. I think it's really only for beginners in rear wheel drive cars.
Awesome, brings back memories... Undefeated amongst my friends in this game! Laguna Seca was my fav. Couldn't play in third-person to save my life though, MUST play in first person! ;) It's all a personal preference though.

Guess what I did in the Polyphony 001? At the second to final turn I was wide, so I caught on the dirt, then tripped over the pitlane. As soon as I hit the pitlane my car spun around and I flew off the track and into the tyres. It was worse because I was doing about 220km/h or there about. I think I was going too fast for the corner.
They both look good, but the GT4 version is much closer to reality. There are sections of the track that GT3 shows as straight, when the section is actually curved. Also - the elevation changes are much more realistic in GT4. :-)

I don't know if you're talking about a real-life record or a Gran Turismo 3 record. if it's Gran Turismo 3, the record is :53.xxx in a Formula One car. If it's a real-life record, I believe it was Sebastien Bourdais in a Champ car.
I have beaten that record, but never in an Arcade Mode Corvette. Not possible for anyone.
The previous record time was 1'07.722, set by Helio Castroneves in a Penske Champ Car during qualifying for the 2000 CART Honda Grand Prix of Monterey.

Actually, the C5R was not a Z06... it was just a basic C5 they turned into a racecar for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Again, I think the new C6R is not the Z06 model, just the basic C6. The Z06s come out after the base model is released. If you look at the C6 and it's Z06 sequel, then look at the C6R, you'll see that the C6R is a tricked-out C6.
It is quite a bit lower to the ground, but it only looks so much smaller due to "camera perspective". In reversed roles, the 'Vette wouldn't look so big.
wat makes this amazing is that you didnt use the HUD.BTW Great Driving. Ive owned this game for 11 days now and Ive beaten 54% of it. I wanna clear all of arcade mode so I can finally drive the 787B prototype. I just love that thing.
DualShock 2 Controller, ARCADE MODE C5R. You can't set it at all. You have to take it as-is. Also - you know it's in HARD MODE, because the race is 5 laps. Simple. I've raced a lot of online challenges, all of the international sort, and even won one of them overall. Not an easy task. I've worked hard to be as smooth as possible because it's faster. Oh, and this was a challenge that I won, but there weren't more than 10 or 15 people trying it anyways.
I see that it is possible. I'm not as hardcore as you but I rushed home from work, told my girlfriend to please be quiet for about 15 min. & attempted that same race. Again, I don't play on ARCADE mode. The car acted the same, as you'd expect & I see that it is possible to brake less than I do so thanks for the example. I finished that race in second so I see that w/ the smoothness that you exhibit, it is possible to tap brakes only 6 times in an entire lap... & get 1st! Respect.
I need to learn that just because C5R has such great brakes, doesn't mean that I have to use them so deep in turns. No wonder the damned thing eats tires when I race it and I have to 2x for every 1x the Japanese Prototypes pit on those long runs.
Ya know... I looked at my own replay and I found that it's hard to see when the brake lights come on sometimes. If I had uploaded a replay with the telemetry indicators on, you'd see that I brake quite often. It's a little easier to see it on the full-res version on my website, but it's still a little hard to tell when they come on and off.
I'm a huge GM & Chevy fan, too. I hate it that Polyphony Digital tries to make the JGTC cars equal (or better in some cases). What a joke.
That blue MAZDA Prototype is a beast as is that red TOYOTA. I'm not so sure about the HARD mode because he stays up front so easily, obviously driving the car gentle enough to not have to brake in many of the hard turns. Sorry but I think he'd have to be running hard and braking DEEP to stay in front of those two cars specifically. Notice how seldom you see brake lights. Everyone who's played this game knows that C5R is a straight line beast and a tough handler. Appears to be set to easy...
Yes you are right. I'm just not naturally good at video games. I'm great at GT3 because it's one of only three games that I've played in the last 4 years. TETRIS on Gameboy, GTA, VICE CITY & GT3. That's it. I should invest more time in GT3 & learn how to drive more smoothly like you. I'm a big Chevy guy in real life so my garage is full of them on GT3; C5R, Z06 tuned to hell & back, '96Grand Sport, also tuned & two Comaros... What an awesome game!
First of all, I prefer GT3 to GT4 hands down. I have them both and have only played GT4 about 5 times. I simply don't care for it.
Second, Arcade mode must be very different because this guy barely uses any brakes; to set the car up for turns or to set up oversteer or anything. He's either incredibly smooth, or I'm incredibly bad.
I haven't tried GT5 HD or Prologue, but I have all 4 other games, and I still play them all. In GT4, you can't feel a real relationship between the car and the tarmac. The physics are jerky, not smooth like GT3. I drive a car, and it's never behaved the way cars do on GT4. Then again, I don't race my car. LOL
hey, you really should load all teh replays or record them with the HUD showing. that way it will show if you were using TC or ASM and what gear you were in. i'll have to find more of my replays and load them up. most of them are just me messing around with my Z28 on seattle circuit but i'll have to see what i have and possibly make more. i'm used to GT5 so i'll have to go back to 3 and 4. 3 and 5 are closer together, 4 the cars handle really weird to me. very unrealistic at times
I made a few of my replays with that data showing on them, but I wanted a more clear screen for this race. For the record, it was only the Arcade Mode Corvette, so TCS and ASM aren't necessary. ;-)
Do you have a steering wheel and pedals or use the hand controller? I've only got a hand controller for the PS2 and find it nothing like a real track days driving (of course). Still fun though. If you do have a wheel what do you recommend?

This was an Arcade Mode competition. In GT3 , you can't change anything on the car in Arcade Mode, you have to drive it as is.

Oh sure - I got all of the prize cars. There were six F1 cars:
F686/M - 4 colors
F687/S - 4 colors
F688/S - 3 colors
F090/S - 6 colors
F094/H - 6 colors
F094/S - 6 colors
You have to realize that I probably put in ten times more playing time to get all those, though. Maybe even more.

GT4 is pretty hard. I am 13, but got up to SUPER License before I stopped playing. Didn't really quit, but played GT5P more. =]

I haven't purchased a PS3 yet. If I decide to get into GT5 (when it's released), I'll get the PS3.

I hate the levels were you have to do 70 or more laps! but you get cool stuff e.g money and cars

My favorite races were the long races. The 60-lap Grand Valley & 90-lap Laguna Seca races were my favorites in the whole game.

Actually, the C5R was not a Z06... it was just a basic C5 they turned into a racecar for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Again, I think the new C6R is not the Z06 model, just the basic C6. The Z06s come out after the base model is released. If you look at the C6 and it's Z06 sequel, then look at the C6R, you'll see that the C6R is a tricked-out C6.

It is quite a bit lower to the ground, but it only looks so much smaller due to "camera perspective". In reversed roles, the 'Vette wouldn't look so big.

wat makes this amazing is that you didnt use the HUD.BTW Great Driving. Ive owned this game for 11 days now and Ive beaten 54% of it. I wanna clear all of arcade mode so I can finally drive the 787B prototype. I just love that thing.

I could see that kind of balls to the wall, no brakes driving in TOKYO 246 but not at Laguna Seca... maybe I'm wrong.

DualShock 2 Controller, ARCADE MODE C5R. You can't set it at all. You have to take it as-is. Also - you know it's in HARD MODE, because the race is 5 laps. Simple. I've raced a lot of online challenges, all of the international sort, and even won one of them overall. Not an easy task. I've worked hard to be as smooth as possible because it's faster. Oh, and this was a challenge that I won, but there weren't more than 10 or 15 people trying it anyways.
I'm starting to like GT4. :-)

I see that it is possible. I'm not as hardcore as you but I rushed home from work, told my girlfriend to please be quiet for about 15 min. & attempted that same race. Again, I don't play on ARCADE mode. The car acted the same, as you'd expect & I see that it is possible to brake less than I do so thanks for the example. I finished that race in second so I see that w/ the smoothness that you exhibit, it is possible to tap brakes only 6 times in an entire lap... & get 1st! Respect.

I need to learn that just because C5R has such great brakes, doesn't mean that I have to use them so deep in turns. No wonder the damned thing eats tires when I race it and I have to 2x for every 1x the Japanese Prototypes pit on those long runs.

Ya know... I looked at my own replay and I found that it's hard to see when the brake lights come on sometimes. If I had uploaded a replay with the telemetry indicators on, you'd see that I brake quite often. It's a little easier to see it on the full-res version on my website, but it's still a little hard to tell when they come on and off.
I'm a huge GM & Chevy fan, too. I hate it that Polyphony Digital tries to make the JGTC cars equal (or better in some cases). What a joke.

That blue MAZDA Prototype is a beast as is that red TOYOTA. I'm not so sure about the HARD mode because he stays up front so easily, obviously driving the car gentle enough to not have to brake in many of the hard turns. Sorry but I think he'd have to be running hard and braking DEEP to stay in front of those two cars specifically. Notice how seldom you see brake lights. Everyone who's played this game knows that C5R is a straight line beast and a tough handler. Appears to be set to easy...

Yes you are right. I'm just not naturally good at video games. I'm great at GT3 because it's one of only three games that I've played in the last 4 years. TETRIS on Gameboy, GTA, VICE CITY & GT3. That's it. I should invest more time in GT3 & learn how to drive more smoothly like you. I'm a big Chevy guy in real life so my garage is full of them on GT3; C5R, Z06 tuned to hell & back, '96Grand Sport, also tuned & two Comaros... What an awesome game!

First of all, I prefer GT3 to GT4 hands down. I have them both and have only played GT4 about 5 times. I simply don't care for it.
Second, Arcade mode must be very different because this guy barely uses any brakes; to set the car up for turns or to set up oversteer or anything. He's either incredibly smooth, or I'm incredibly bad.

I think GT4 was more realistic and a harder game to play, same with GT5.

I haven't tried GT5 HD or Prologue, but I have all 4 other games, and I still play them all. In GT4, you can't feel a real relationship between the car and the tarmac. The physics are jerky, not smooth like GT3. I drive a car, and it's never behaved the way cars do on GT4. Then again, I don't race my car. LOL

hey, you really should load all teh replays or record them with the HUD showing. that way it will show if you were using TC or ASM and what gear you were in. i'll have to find more of my replays and load them up. most of them are just me messing around with my Z28 on seattle circuit but i'll have to see what i have and possibly make more. i'm used to GT5 so i'll have to go back to 3 and 4. 3 and 5 are closer together, 4 the cars handle really weird to me. very unrealistic at times

I made a few of my replays with that data showing on them, but I wanted a more clear screen for this race. For the record, it was only the Arcade Mode Corvette, so TCS and ASM aren't necessary. ;-)
And yes - GT4 physics suck bigtime.

Do you have a steering wheel and pedals or use the hand controller? I've only got a hand controller for the PS2 and find it nothing like a real track days driving (of course). Still fun though. If you do have a wheel what do you recommend?
