That's terrible to be pushed out because of the potential illness, but I don't feel bad for the former officer. I was a UPS driver worked 12 years with a perfect safety record. The moment I filed a work injury to my lower back was the moment I began the process of losing my career.

I would still be working at UPS and retiring at 45 in the next few years, had I just reported my injury to my private doctor. Never report work related injuries never, you will lose your career.
