  • I'm so MAD I missed this!!!! I went to to see Nas and Damien Marley the day after and when I looked through the book I wanted to cry when I saw that Joe Bataan performed the day before :(

  • Wow,that was sung very well indeed,it enhanced my appreciation for the song recording. The words hit home,as i too,am a Nuyorican,and frequently visit "103rd Street" in East harlem.   • So glad I etched out the time in my weekday schedule to get over to Central Park and see Joe Bataan. Though I've seen him a number of times before, and often listen to his wide array of musical styles, seeing him and his full band reinforces my appreciation for his innovation, fusion of musical culture, in a class by himself in American musical history.
