What kind of Fralins do you have on that strat? And great job with ALL your demos. Basically if you can't make a guitar sound beautiful, then nobody can't. Always love your clean sounds, they sound so rich. And I really loved that "brashy" tone, as you said, from that 70's strat. I Still felt like that 70's strat sounded better than the squier. Still, Squier is making me go completly bananas with the quality that their guitars have these days.
you know what. I have to admit, on a whole I am starting to find that Squiers have all round better sound and tones when compared to the top end models made in the USA by Fender. It is amazing, that Standard Series in here video sounds great It has a more open sound to it. No disrespect to the fact that you have put time and money into that Fender there, but to me, it sounds dead. Just amazing how little you need to spend for something decent. Great video, thank you very much! :-)
The Squier Standard Strats have alnico ceramic single coil pickups which explains why they sound so damm good. A lot of the tone snobs tend to knock them just because of the name " Squier ". Mine is a 2008 model, which sounds awesome and except for changing the stock capacitor with a Fender ceramic Cap, it's all stock. IMO, it sounds just as good as my 2006 USA made, 60th Anniversary Commemorative Special Edition Strat.
That red one, I am absolutely digging the tone. Very warm, rich, and with a very good kind of Stevie Ray Vaughan kind of sound. Very nice playing, by the way!
yes , i have watched your two vidios on the red squier strat , 15 /20 times now and i think you have convinced me to get one , i allready have a usa delux (rosewood neck) and i allways wanted a maple neck ,,,, damm now i can have both , ha ha , my only question is , douse it stay in tune as well as the usa ???? ps i like your early 60s style , you do it well.
hey i brought a classic vibe 50s strat couple of days ago , and you aint kiddin , its the strat i allways wanted , cant bellieve how good it is compaired to my usa delux , build quality is not quite as good as you might expect , but dam it has all those classic sweet sounds , all the best and thanks for the insperation.
i think the standart squire strat is made out of basswood wich is a relly nice sounding and cheap wood. I think that's were the different sound comes from (:
I have 2 squires and now I'm putting together A mightymight strat with carvin pick-ups. I too, also agree that their are some great squires out there. By the way, your playing is really good. I'm trying to break into jazz guitar and u play how I'd like to, thanks
the tone is pouring out of that fat fender amp , thats the real secret people!!!!!!!

White guitar has tone...

it must be those REALLY fat necks they have on the squiers that gives some of the lower key strats their edge.

I have a 1990 squier(maple fretboard). if i put texas specials in it, will it sound more vintage and "twangly" than it doe now??
skylorz 8 months ago
@skylorz
Hi,
I think Texas Specials have their own edge!
It may sound raunchier, not so
vintage ,,, but nice inytheir own way.
Real Vintage sounds are Lollars or Seymour Duncan alnicos
