I have nothing against fat people, i have great friends that are overweight. But factually if you are overweight, you are more likely to develop health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, certain types of cancer, gout (joint pain caused by excess uric acid), and gallbladder disease. My father's sister died in her early 30's because of serious health defects caused by severe obesity. It's just simply is not as healthy.

And I agree, being fat is something you can change or can do about it, but still making fun of fat people is just plain dumb. @jacquelineveronique Again as I've said to discriminate, put down, shun etc people with facial disfigurements or bald men, or things that a person has no control over or cannot cure, I mean for those things there should be an outrage and more being done to stop people that put those people down, and they must be punished as a detterant. But with being chubby, there are health risks and plus one has certain control over it, so IN A POLITE WAY it's ok to bring it up as long as it helps the person

Fatness in America is partially to blame on the individual but the bulk of responsibility lies with corporate America. Severe corporal punishment for executives of Wall Mart and the like would be appropriate I think.

The dude is right. There is a percenage of overweight people who can't help it and will have to live with it. It's a very sad thing for those people.
However, the good news.. The rest can lose weight. It's hard, it will suck, but you can do it. But the attitude, that is key. By accepting you have an unhealthy lifestyle, or even worse, seeking excuses for it, you will shorten your life and the quality of your life.
