lol i live in an area sandwiched between like 5 sirens so i hear a whole chorus of them.... at 3 frikkin am in the morning just because of a thunderstorm! lol maybe i'll put a video of it up
I live in Santa Maria, California and 2 EF0 tornadoes, one in January of 2009 and another in January of 2008, had passed by close to the city and to make matters worse there are no sirens in the city. however, I am thankful I had purchased a NOAA weather radio and thankful the tornadoes were too weak to cause any damage.
That night sucked. I go to Berea College. I was supposed to be at Louisville at about 8 the next morning for Kentucky Intercollegiate Band and KMEA. I had cable in my dorm room at the time. Siren sounding three times in a period of 30 minutes. After the third time our RA's knock on the doors and take us to our basement. After we were cleared to go back to what we were doing, I was not able to sleep once that night. I almost pissed myself the first siren because it was night time.
I think the tornado was only for Southern Jefferson Co, so I could only hear those sirens. There is one at 6th & Hill & U of L which I can hear very well when sounded
I live in vine Grove ky 30 miles from Louisville.one day I went to the local supermarket and the sirens are across the street and at that second they did a test and let me tell you I almost shit on my pants.they are freaking loud.
uhmm you mean the IGA, and yeah, there is a FS 2t22 right infront of the damn IGA lol :) when they test it the damn thign rattles the windows of that entire strip of stores :)
Yep thats the one.Have you been on post lately?. in Ft.knox they change the old sirens for very loud speakers.now u can hear the army songs and all that lol.
Twisters are scary but I won't lie, tornado sirens are ominously beautiful.

How often does the Louisville area get tornadoes?
melee409 1 year ago
@melee409we had a quick touchdown about a week before Halloween this year and I think that was the only one for the year.

@melee409
Louisville directly doesn't get many tornados. it's mainly the counties surrounding Jefferson County.
