first time (not a race), Bunta passed Takumi and gave him a phobia of all-wheel drive cars.

he did race Takumi once, do what N6600 told you to do.

@mafiaPha666 bunta raced his son without takumi knowing, bunta was checking out an impreza and saw takumi driving on akina and decided to smoke him in like 3 corners, check Initial D fourth stage ep. 7

After beating takumi he suddenly liked the car XD can't blame him for that XD personaly i would stil go for

lan-evo, just because i like their handling/behaviour in all driving games
