This stoppage was warranted if you look at it this way...he was getting hit repeatedly at close range, he went down and still didn't defend himself. I'm convinced if it went longer Hendricks would have knocked him out cold, but the ref had seen enough. We don't see what he does and so we shouldn't be critical.

everybody needs to remember that he wasn't intelligently defending himself... watch it again... he drops to all fours and Hendrick hit's him again with what looks like 4 really good strong hits to the side of the face and sadollah just eats them... I don't think it was an early stoppage and it all comes down to Saddolah not defending himself AT ALL

I know it's pointless to speculate (meaning that's exactly what I'm about to do) but here's how I see it playing out. He get's back up to his feet and eats a big left once he's standing or just gets thrown down immediately anyway... Bigger rallies have happened, but it seemed unlikely at that point for him... what do you think?

@matthewjpr well i mean it could have gone either way. Idk if you've seen brock lesnar vs. shane carwin. Brock wasn't exactly intelligently defending himself. The ref could have called it there. but since the ref could tell that brock was still able to fight, he was able to fight back to his feet, and then submit shane in the next round. Amir was fighting back to his feet. He could have pulled something out of his own, and turn the fight around.

But I guess that's why I'm not a ref, and nor should I be. I would have looked at lesnar while he was getting beat up on the ground and called it. I guess it also is a little bit of personal judgement there. But yeah, you swayed me on the Hendricks Sadollah Fight... Too early.
