i am stunned that some of you people have the BALLS to compare Tommy to Ace. Tommy couldn't shine Ace's shoes let alone play better than him. Tommy Thayer only got that gig after Ace left was because he cloned Ace Frehley for YEARS in a KISS Tribute band, and knew all of his solos. At the time he got the gig, he was already working as Gene and Paul's personal Mexican sweeping their floors, cleaning their pools, painting their houses, and doing laundry. He used to get them dinner after shows.

Go buy any Black n Blue album and learn how to play real guitar. Please come out of the fantasy of how great Ace is. Ace is nothing more than a Jimmy Page clone, and a sub par one at that. While I love Ace's playing, I am realistic about his ability.

I'm not in a fantasy furthermore I do play guitar. If you really want to talk guitar players-Wes Montgomery, Larry Carlton, Eric Clapton, Kenny Burrell. Page is the most overated fumble fingers around. He was just in the right band at the right time and had great hooks and rhythms. I just don't think the "new Kiss" was fair to Ace and that's why I responded to you. As for you telling me to learn to play, let me know when you can play through the Berklee Book, then we'll talk.

If you are going to bring up guitar players, for the love of God could you at least bring some up that are good? I can find studio musicians all over the world that can technically play, but how about one that can write a memorable song? Clapton had maybe two in Cream and that is it. Now you've made this personal. I'm not fifteen. I'm 37. The Book is from the Berklee school of Music. Before you run your big fat mouth you ought to see who studied there. It is regarded as one of the most difficult music courses to make it through. I noticed you didn't slam the other guitarists. It's because you don't have the slightest clue who they are. I cant help ignorance. The fact that you don't care about berklee indicates that you are unteachable. I'd bet money you only read tab.

Could care less who studied where, I can name numerous guitar players who you would have no clue who they are, wow is that not impressive. That just means I do not listen to that style of music. Also, I hold a masters degree, can read music and I am a teacher.

A few questions, If you hold a master's what was your theses on? Secondly I find it odd that someone with a Masters hasn't heard of Berklee. I am also curious where you teach. Your offensive language and the statement that you didn't care is indicitive of elitism which is quite popular in academia, even though you preach tolerance. These two thoughts are diametrically opposed. We could have discussed music properly, unfortunately your militant tone came right on through.

One last thing, Black n Blue on you tube, I watched a few of their tunes. It's just standard 1,4,5,6 minor stuff. No different than Ace or really ANY other major rock stuff out today or from classic rock. I put them in the same category as any other classic rock/hard rock band musically in terms of technical ability. Nothing Stellar there.

To add to that countless guitarists have jazz influences not just rock my friend. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker. You'll pick apart a country song by Clapton and ignore his blues sound. It's sounds to me like you're an expert in the music world and no one can tell you any different. Go back and listen to the Blue Note label, thats where many guitarists got theyre inspiration from. Yngwie was classically trained but you probably have an axe to grind with him too.

You can't call 'parasite' Gene's song, he may sing it but Ace wrote it. The only reason Ace never sung it live is because he didn't like his voice and thought it sounded better with Genes, right back at the beginning (Kiss Alive) before he had ever sung ANYTHING live!
