What is the name this type of stick figure modeling. I think I've been doing it wrong. I go straight for the detailed model, but then it takes to long to render. So I find it hard to find to time to make the animation right.
Hey, you could just render in OpenGL for that, SHIFT+click on the small "picture" icon in the 3D View header. Otherwise you could also deactivate subsurf on your mesh or just leave the armature to have a realtime playback.
Ok, here's the thing, i couldn't see the anticipiation of the character before he leaps to the second pole. i'd recomend that after the character has performed the action, make him stay at the pole, rip his face off it, give a look to the audience, and then fall down. Otherwise the action was neatly coreographed, even if there's a need to have a longer pause, before the character rolls his eyes.
I guess both. Key poses and some in betweens I go them manually and then touch curves. Secondary motion and overlapping I do it by adding some extra keyframes first and then clean curves up to make them look fluid again.
Glad you liked the anim, it's far from perfect, but was great fun to do it :)
lol this looks like an offivial walt disney liuttle video they have b4 the films!! very awesome job!!!
