  • Coś pięknego. Życzę tej dziewczynce samych wielkich i pięknych chwil w dorosłym życiu. Pozdrawiam :)

  • Wow, what a delightful playing! Enjoyed your playing so much!

  • Why are folks so concerned about whether a child is "forced?" What do you mean by forced? Threatened with a whip? I seriously doubt ANY parents who have a child this successful use such means, which destroy the spirit. Do we not "force" children to go to school? Oh, that's Ok because the government chooses it for us. May parents force their children to brush their teeth, wash their hands, or do anything good for themselves that they lack the competence to choose to do for themselves?

  • I like her style very much. Iwonder if she change her hair into some wild style will make her looks better an pianist.

  • @iamvalwong Heh, heh. Peculiar comment! I think she'll have the opportunity to do that when she comes of age and is making her first world tours. I only hope I can get tickets. Rachel has been an inspiration to my little girl and family now for a couple years.

  • @ HookedNose: Personally I don't like to argue with anyone but now I think I have to say something to you. As a musical student, I do agree that most people enjoy works from those European composers. But now, you know, most of them play instruments like piano or violin which these pieces of music fit in.

  • You do know the Chinese erhu, or the Japanese koto, right? For people who play traditional eastern instruments like that, they'd think the traditional Asian folk songs would work better on those instruments. Totally we can't deny that most people favour works from european composers, but the reason is just the different points of view from people who play different musical instruments, NOT because asians or whatever races are not as talent as europeans. People from diff. races have diff.talents

  • And for the player's name that you called an European name, do you mean that all the people who have western names would have to have big eyes and high noses like westerners? Well, personally I think I disagree. I guess you are definitely an European and don't know much about Chinese singers and film stars.

  • And most of them have English names which they picked themselves (or if some of them come from hongkong or macao then they might be given an english name along with a chinese name in their brith certificates). If you don't believe in what I said then simply search for Faye Wong or Fiona Fung on youtube or google. They DEFINITELY have the right to do that.

I am also an asian who have an english name. I'm half Vietnamese and half Japanese, and my English name is Hazel.

  • I miss your smile at the end like in th earlier video of this same piece.............

  • very very nice!

  • This is so awesome.

  • Nice !!!no hesitation and living his interpretation....the essential!!!

  • @carraeugenio You may see a dozen of recent wonderful videos, uploaded on May 23, in her YouTube channel (Classical Piano), user yw1935. You shall surely enjoy them.

  • Tiene El " Don" y pureza para ejecutarlo , se puede decir brillante ! ; Pero ..., ¿Cuánto sacrificio hace en su vida de niña ?; ésto es una obligación muy grande hacia la música, y niño se es sólo una vez.

  • not an easy waltz! great job kiddo

  • such a great piece!!

    she's so serious...WHY SO SERIOUS?! XDDDDD-------------hopes you happy~!! little girl ~

  • how old is she today?and really nice playing!!

  • so clean, so neat, so adorable

  • Hi Rachel. :)

Your play is as light as the wing of a little bird in the air, the patterns of the tunes grow as naturally as the tender stalks, your music is refreshing like the breath of the forest.

    :)

    Attila Vagvolgyi from Hungary.

  • beautiful version

  • Musikalisches Verständnis für das Stück, Geschmack in der Ausführung, Delikatesse in der Behandlung des Instruments - was kann man Besseres über eine Künstlerin sagen? Vor allem wenn sie noch so jung ist.

  • you are my IDOL !!! :)

  • OMG!!!!! You rock Rachel!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ammirevole....baby

  • A bocca aperta

  • WOW!

  • This is lovely, a delight. Person below demands to have more Rubato, but does not know how to spell Italian words...

  • poetic bullshit. but she is good...

  • Great !!

    (Granddaddy) Cor

    Netherlands

  • This girl is a genious! She plays Chopin perfectly! Very touchy on her own!

  • she make error at 2.07

  • Jaloux, rien qu'a voir ton nom t'as la rage. Montre moi un enfnat qui peux jouer a un niveau si haut ayant un visage souriant et epanouie. Au lieu de critiquer, va t'entrainer at on piano et peut etre tu joueras comme cette fille dans 20 ans.

  • this girl has extraordinary skills that will carry her through life with confidence and much, much talent. i know how difficult it is to play these pieces, so i can appreciate to the full extent!!!!!!!!! good luck in the future, rachel!!!!!!

  • c'est rafraichissant de voir cela!

un peu de douceur dans ce monde en flammes...

  • Wow!!!!!! I did not know, that it is so easy to play this piece.

  • oh i see ^^

thats great =D good for u to have a great y/t friend *o*

  • yep ^^

i want to know how u knew that info.

    do u know her personally?

  • bellissimo e difficilissimo sei decisamente bravissima come fai!!!

  • wow thats great to hear ^.^~ =D

    she plays really beautiful ^^

but out of curiosity... how did u know that

  • Wauuww

    You Go Girl!

  • Great Performance

  • It is true that there are many gifted children who are able to play piano wonderfully. But, somewhat, I sense that Rachel's performance is unusually sincere. I think that is the kind of quality Rachel would like to keep and grow further. Her play is soft, direct, and with some underlying strength, which reminds me of Dinu Lipatti. I would strongly suggest her parents to nurture her with more of basic liberal arts; e.g, literature, philosophy, and culture.

  • I bow to you Rachel and thank you for your outstanding performance , loved every note that you played, more than 5*****+,Jack !!!!!

  • Super petite pianiste, toute fois un peu triste !!

    JP de France

  • fairy from the piano world

  • I don't know what that is....there are some very nice, lovely and mysterious feel in her playing, she is a little goddes.

  • i hope shes happy and shes not being forced :( . shes sooo cute.

  • @pantimospika haha, im sure she's pressured by her parents to do well, but i'm sure she loves it at the same time (:

  • @pantimospika No i dont think so, i heard her parents let her be independant. So she pushed herself to get this far :) And done a wonderful job too <33

  • @pantimospika , Playing Music is different with sport where a child are being forced by their parent or by the communist state. Music has an emotional and feeling, therefore if a child are forced it cannot play properly let alone enjoiying it as these little child seem do.

One must have talent and desire to do it.

  • @pantimospika she has never been forced...she wants to be a pianist when she grows up...i think that's sufficient evidence that she loves it...

  • @punkviolin1 hi, i wrote that years ago. i have a different opinion now. but dont blame me for getting a bit suspicious. you know as well as I do that there are a lot of cases where the parents push their children into something they don’t necessarily want to do. ;)

  • Somehow I get the impression Rachel's parents do not let her read the comments made on her videos--which is probably a good idea considering the lunatics out there. She is just a baby.

  • Felicidades Rachel es una excelente ejecucion.

  • WOW!!!!!!! thats all i can say

  • Excellent performance, Rachel! Don';t listen to hecklers and mean-spirited people (there'll be many) but just keep on and play with your heart, mind and soul. You're doing a great job and I'm proud of you.

  • amazing tone, wonderful colour, great tempo, pedaling is just perfect, the sense of direction to the end of the phrase is so full of energy. She really plays with passion! She's waaay younger than me, and yet she plays so much better. I'd like to say I'm jealous but I think i'm so impressed I can't be jealous. I recognize how much work that would have been. Bravo!

  • You are SO talented! Wish I could play as amazing as you girl! Best of luck in the future<3

  • This girl has Brilliant talent

    She's inspired me soo much

Gonna try harder in piano ;) x

  • so do i...she sounds so amazing

  • This is amazing... It made me cry. I feel so ashamed. Here I am, 10 years of playing the piano, and I still don't sound even half as amazing as Rachel! Keep playing, girl! You have talent! I wish I had time and the motivation like you.... *sigh* You're an amazing pianist! I applaud your amazing skill and dedication. Brava!!!!! Encore!!!

  • Wow ...perfect! applauses to you.

  • very good..compliments!!

  • a pair of very professional and strong hands... amazing..

  • I usually don't comment on the comments other give, but seriously, HookedNose is ignorant and straight up racist.

"How many little squinty eyed girls do you know named Sarah or Christie? Only ones that have moved to Europe or North America and disavowed their chinkster heritage. Conversely, how many young white girls on youtube are named Rong-Duck Dong and play Sitars? None, because euro music and heritage is more evolved."

    WTF?!

  • LOL wtf

  • man, i do play the piano.

i dont think shes brillant just that

    jesus! is just a opnion,

so what, i dont think shes THAT good!

  • she played it great. really beautiful

    buuuut HookedNose has a point.

she isnt a genius, shes a dedicates girl. Asians are dedicated i teach portuguese to a chinese girl and at first seems taht shes pretty clever but in fact she just studys hard and, in my opinon, the same happens with rachel. she only play it very well but if i could spend 5 hours per day i guess i'd be as good as her.

  • She's wonderfully gifted. Most of us would never play that way even if trying hard all day long.

But she is very inspirational for all of us, who certainly have other gifts to develop.

  • rachelxiu, have you ever played the piano? I guess not. Because if you practice for 5 hours everyday yes you could learn that piece, but if you dont have the gift in you since you were born, you would never be able to play it like her.

  • You have inspired to learn this piece myself (I have been playing for 6 years and I can't do anything like that!!)! How long dod it take you to learn this piece?

  • VERY beautiful! Amazing how well you can play piano hun! Would you happen to be able to play chopin etude op. 10 no. 12? Would love to hear from someone as amazingly talented as you, TY for keeping the classics alive...

  • I agree! This girl is obviously a child prodigy! It's sad how most of the population of the world has put music aside, but it makes me very happy that a few still enjoy the wonders that music unfolds, especially for a little girl like this one. You are magnificent, sweetie!! Keep it up!

  • HookedNose:

    I'm guessing you created

a famous, world wide-known master piece

at the age of nine, huh?

    fuck you HookedNose!

  • "HookedNose" doesnt realize

everyone hates him/her. so just suck it up HookedNose---no one likes you and get over this child---this child's a prodigy.

  • Hahahah a prodigy? Did it ever occur to you that a "prodigy" doesn't just copy the works of someone else. The term for that would be "plagiarist". A real prodigy creates a work of art. A player piano can play Chopin's Waltz perfectly every time but could never create that work. I'm astounded at the lack of logic presented in this forum but I suppose that if you were honest with yourself, it would break your collective hearts.

  • you know, i'd like to see this in your point of view, BUT I CANT STICK MY HEAD THAT FAR UP MY ASS.

  • so are you saying that she has to create something to be a prodigy?

obviously you dont have a clue what you're saying because you dont even know what prodigy means.

    prodigy (noun)

    1. a person, esp. a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability: a musical prodigy.

    2. something wonderful or marvelous; a wonder.

    rachel IS DEFINITELY A PRODIGY.

    get your facts straight.

no one ever said you had to create

    something to be a prodigy.

  • I agree and disagree. I understand where you come from, because the terms "genius" and "prodigy" are thrown around too much these days. However, if a prodigy is someone that is "extraordinary," and extraordinary is "going beyond normal," I'd call little Rachel here a prodigy.

PS - While you're telling people to read Strunk and White, review your last sentence and then get back to me on grammar. Unless you meant for "insult" to be singular. In that case, proofread. Oh, and use a comma.

  • HookedNose'd nazi is obviously on youtube to look for debates so he can go sleep at night. But what you don't know, is that he's ASIAN!!!! ~.~ Too bad he's so naive about the world and thinks the shit he talks about is true when half of them can't be proved.

  • Ha, the typical Tube geek who pokes out at peoples incorrect grammar and punctuation. Never heard of online slang have you? You must be pretty f'ing stupid if you seriuosly think the asian race has no famous composers that "EVERYONE" knows about. Im sure you would know "EVERYONE" as well since you just sit at the computer all day stalking this girls video comments.

  • Only an ignorant with no sense of beauty and art can say that about Mishima, a real genius that all well read people know. You even ignore his existence! This argument is absolutely useless: be happy with your stupid racist opinions and don't bother us.

  • Hey there Einstein, ignorant is an adjective not a noun. Go read Strunk and White's Elements of Style and call me in the morning...next one nurse.

  • WOW!! beautiful playing Rachel, thank you for playing such lovely music, bless you and yours!

  • Very beautifully played!

  • Excellent!!!

  • EXCELLENT.....I wish I could play a piano!!

    You are magnificient!!

  • I tell you.

The roudness of some people, is just absolutely unexplainable.

    Idiots.

    But, YOU, are very beautiful!

    I love the playing.

Such emotions, as like I have NEVER seen.

  • Yes, the roudness indeed.

  • everything was perfectly balanced.your pedal,often tricky on waltzes,your sound colourings,everything.5 stars.

as for all thes people that can't stand the idea of an asian kid playing way better that their beloved white european kids, who can't tell the difference between beethoven and chopin, please just die somewhere else.greetings for greece

  • Well said!

  • People post rude comments because they are jealous. Well done rachel.. Keep it up.. You'll be in one of the top music industries one day. All the best!! (=

  • Beautifully played Rachel.

    In tune

    Lalita

  • She is truly gifted! I wish her all the success in the world!

(And remember "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything" I hope your Mom taught you that too)

  • Can you name at least one white "Aryan" youth who's aspiring to anything other than tongue pins, lip rings, tattoos, excessive flab, and ADHD medication?

  • I didn't think anyone could come off THAT racist in a single paragraph, but you proved me wrong. I checked with the ushers...you left your Hitler doll in the aisle, next to your KKK hood.

  • I was looking for a glimmer of refutation to the facts that I presented but no. Simple ad hominem attacks. Typical left-wing (although with neo-con jews it could also now be called right wing) propaganda. Could you name a couple Korean composers that all young kids aspire to? How about famous Chinese composers that every kid wants to emulate? No? How about genious African musical prodigies and please don't compare 50 cent or P-diddy or t-baby who can't even spell out a full name to Mozart.

  • You cant give a direct answer to that question, because Mozart & Co. refer to European classic music. The world was not that close back then in these times, but Asia have their own "classic" music. Its not that they did not compose any music...

They also have talented artists who combine European classic and music of their own style, eg Misato Mochizuki (jp), Jamilia Jazylbekova (kaz), Alireza Mashayeka (iran), Malaye KeeYong Chong (malaysia), Suren Soronzonbold (mongolia), Leilei Tian (chn)

  • You are racist and ignorant. If you read books, you would know that, for example, Mishima, a japanese, was one of the best writers in the world and extremely creative. And we can find other examples in every field.

  • Oh please, shut up and get a life.

  • This is great you can play these level of songs at such a young age! This song is so familiar to me I think there is this song in a movie or something!

  • Very beautiful interpretation. I applaud you.

  • Excelent. All this girls from china are so amazing,,

  • PRO!PRO!PRO!

  • OMG(!) Bravo

She is so much professional :)

  • Very nice! Bravo!

  • There is no reason to give this less than its deserved 5 STARS.

  • why a few mistakes??..do you hate her?She is great..and Love Piano soo muchh..i think you are jealous for her..soryy.

  • Still, her playing was wonderful.

  • Wonderful!!

  • this is beautifully played

  • Eu te amo Rachel, Deus te abençoe!!

  • brilliant

  • wow

  • i luv it!!

    u interpret it very well!!!!

    well done =]]

  • ouu, shut up nazi, your words make me feel sick

  • Just because she's asian doesnt mean she can't play classical music.

  • omg she's fantastic!

  • well i dont care..im dancing to it anyway!

  • You are Beautiful Rachel!

    :-)

    Kisses

    And

    Hugs

    MariaLisboa

  • hamiltonrrw: Please, my friend, I know what a Waltz is. But, in fact, Chopin never intended his Waltzes to be danced to. Would you waltz at the sound of his 1st Waltz? They are "salon" pieces not ballroom compositions!

  • beautiful music, your skills and natural talent is a wonderful reflection of the inner you, live to play and play to live, thank you for posting!

  • well played Chopin loved it

keep plying and one day you will be great i love your playing by the way

    Ni duo da shui shu?

  • I adore you Rachel!!!

  • The tempo is a bit on the slow side and that doesn't bother me.....but for a competition....I wonder!

  • Yes, would like to comment on the excellent sound and visual quality of your videos. The music is great and it deserves this level of quality.

  • Very nice! It sounds like you are having fun playing it!

  • very nice...mikma was here

  • Not only the genius of Rachel is appreciated but the quality of the video is amazing. Thank you!!!!!

  • The world loves you, Rachel.

  • This is one of my favorite of Chopin's waltzes, thank you for re-playing it Rachel! :)
