umm jumping high isnt the problem hes holding his tuck all the way through the jump he need to let go of his legs about halfway 4/6th of the way throguh the flip
also you were trying way to hard to jump forward rather than up ;P i know this is like 8 years old but if you ever want to do these again you might wanna try that,
just so you know, its not good to do the little "hop" before you actually jump. It's lowers the height you'll get on your real jump, what people are starting to do is just step into the jump rather than hopping! Try it out :)

the key point to the trick is to tuck, keep tucked during al of ur flip time and when uve done almost a full flip untuck and try to land on your feet. if you untuck too early or if u dont tuck at all you might injure yourself. try it with a matress

the reason why your feet sink into the ground is because you dont untuck and you land in a tucked position.Your mistake starts from the beginning of the front-flip when you throw your hands down.When u start throwing them down you dont have them over your head,you dont have them in full hight so as they can give you enough momentum when you throw them down.
Timing is Key. See how the lad puts his foot forward then jumps? Im a fellow practioner of parkour, I Started doing front flips at first on soft grassy land. I Recommend you use a 12 - 20 ft trampoline for faster feel of the rythem.

Wow, I wish I could bring my matresses out side. My house is two stories, the bottom floor has a 6.5 foot ceiling, so flips are no good there. The top is 7.1 foot, but no room. My wall run is almost owndom though. PARKOUR TTM!
I love how much cooler these look on video compared to how it feels like they look when I actually do them... except the ones for like the first few minutes of the vid... those aren't necessarily so cool looking. The first one without the mattress was like whoa kinda scary. Anyway I think I'm doing OK for being 6'1

1.Have your Hands behind your head
2.Throw them up/forwards but more up
3. What you've been doing bring them down FAST.
