US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has come out and blamed the pro-Israel Lobby in America (AIPAC, ADL, ZOA, etc) for ruining her political career. While in congress she refused to sign the pro-Israel pledge and took a pro-Palestinian stance. Because of this, McKinney said “war was declared” on her by the Jewish lobby. In 2009 she told TIU's Ognir that “more than 99% of Congress work for Pro Zionist Israeli interests.”
Most enthusiastic and polite actor in Hollywood right there. Everytime I stumble upon an interview with him he is so deeply committed and answers every question very fulfillingly. He seems like, aside from being an actor, a downright film geek. I would love to talk movies with him for hours.
You know it's funny. Hearing McDowell regarding a Coen Brother film as one of his favourites got me thinking: Who here agrees that he would do well in a Coen Brother movie himself?
I love his take on favorite movie. I myself find that I may lean one way or another when it comes to what is my favorite, depending my mood and how I'm feeling.
My Favourite movie has to be (1993's Jurassic Park), not only did the visuals transcend my knowledge of fossils, but it shows me a world I can still believe in... Imagination. Thanks Steve your the greatest! :3
Actually, "Dances with wolves" is pretty good picture, so it isn't so ridiculous that 'Goodfellas" hasn't won that year. But "A clockwork orange" hasn't won 1971, now that's ridiculous.
A bit cold and pointless isn't it my lovely? What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.
I really liked Fargo but it was great but it didn't quite make the "masterpiece" status for me. TBH though Malcolm your Clockwork Orange was a better movie than Fargo in my opinion.
Great actor (yes, including Caligula, one of my favorite childhood-movies) ...
BUT ...
for acting in Halloween 2 (the remake), one of the most godawful films shat out this century, McDowell deserves a kick to the nuts! Did he really need the cash that badly?? I would have donated ...
'Fargo' - best answer ever to AFI. Malcolm McDowell is great, even if 99% of his movies are crap, we'll always have the jewels: 'If....', 'O Lucky Man!', 'Royal Flash', a few others.
Oh Yes! He's in lots of things still. Just saw him in "Entourage", and "The Mentalist" TV series', and he'll be in the new Amy Heckerling / Alicia Silverstone movie "Vamps", which no doubt is based on Jane Austin or whatnot.
@ThaMuzeekEnthuziest so true. thats mindless hollywood typecasting for you. Malcolm's best movies were made outside the hollywood system: A Clockwork Orange, If...., O Lucky Man!, Aces High, Voyage Of The Damned. though after Tank Girl,at least he got to kill Captain Kirk
Sad to see a man of his caliber and acting talent in third rate movies. What happened to the likes of "Clockwork Orange" and "O Lucky Man" those two movies changed my entire perception on the world around me.
@getlikemc I can even say it about the 3010 oscars, we are all but human... Money, status and worthless advancement... Even the richest want to get richer

@FetaCheese222 oh yeah casue British films never win any awards (Chariots of Fire, Gandhi, The King's Speech, Shakespeare in Love, The Last Emporer: All British films that won best picture)
@getlikemc Whatever. It was more the controversy that I think prevented it from winning awards anyway. But like McDowell says here, these awards are redicoulos.
@getlikemc Because the people who vote at the oscars refuse to vote for any film that isn't either contemporary, "snugly" or set in WW2 or the Old West.
@swordhunter12 Guy you are so damned right. How can it be that nor Hitchcock neither Kubrick got an Oscar? This shows us the value of this tiny little figure: None at all.
@trillian1964 Technically not true...the Oscars were not given for best directors. But, 2001 won an Oscar for special effects, and Rebecca won an Oscar for Hitchcock.
Malcolm McDowell is one the most underrated actors of all time. He is a great actor who happens to have a terrible agent, because he keeps getting signed for alot of shitty movies.
I think its a shame that he is beginning to take on an American accent. You dont have to, take Joan Collins she lives there but doesnt have the accent. Its a choice, I suppose hes got an American wife and kid and is totally submerging himself in the culture cos he lives there. Shame.
I absolutely love Malcolm McDowell, but I have to say I didn't like Fargo, I know I'm in the minority on that one, but really I didn't, but I'm the kind of person that loves Caligula, incidently with Malcolm McDowell so what do I know.
its official. malcom mcdowell is my fave movie star ever. he likes goodfellas, fargo, and he was in a clockwork orange. oh, and he doesnt care much for the oscars either! fuck, yeah, go snuff it academy!
How I know the Oscars can be full of crap: Malcolm McDowell didn't even get nominated for his brilliant performance in Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece A Clockwork Orange
The best I ever seen hands down is a Russian film called The Thief made in 1990 I believe that is rarely if ever talked about much less shown. It`s a film that really showed to me why people grow up the way they do, and you can`t get better than that.
always clockwork orange, yes sometimes the Oscars should go to the movies & actors that really need it and earn it. Not like actors such as Heath Ledger just because he died, because in my eyes Jack N. will always be The Joker.
He has a nice taste, Goodfellas and Fargo two of my favorites. And I think he's the first actor who says oscars are ridiculous :D, I agree with him but sometimes, like the last one goes to The Hurt Locker!
He's right. Not only should 'Goodfellas' have gotten Marty his Best Director Oscar, it should have won Best Picture. It's arguably the best film of the decade.
I love FARGO too. A brilliant film which use some of the best elements of Hitchcock, and Billy Wilder, while being totally original. I seen it at least 20 times, and still see something new in it. Cohen Brothers are geniuses.
coen brothers nice choice! big lebowski i think is just as definitive as fargo if not more; every facet of that movie is brilliant every scene is golden. thus, it is my choice, as well as cool hand luke and donnie darko
It's so hard to choose a favorite...ugh...I think The Goodfellas was badass, hell yeah, Ray Liotta. But not my favorite...The Crow has my favorite actor in it Brandon Lee, Halloween has my favorite actress in it, Jamie Lee. Yeah, what a coincidence. I'd have to say the LOTR trilogy because it has inspired me to write a long while back. Although I don't care for the director much, I do like his version of J. R. R. Tolkien's LOTR novels.
Well my top 10 (10 is best) 1. Clint eastwood Honkeytonky 2. Clint eastwood Tightrope 3. Clint eastwood Hang Em high 4. Nightmare on elm street (1t) 5. The rock 6. Clint eastwood grand turino 7. Saving private ryan 8. Dirty harry ( first one) 9. Clint eastwood Where Eagles Dare ( a must watch movie) 10 o brothers where art thou (no not a eastwood movie) no i dident have Titanic becuse that movie has two good parts when the rich womens naked and the ending rest is awfull youst awfull
@Raggare52 i hated hang em high. personally i think sergio leones other westerns (good bad ugly, few dollars more, once upon a time in the west) are much better, you should watch them.
