  • Alex Delarge is the greatest acting performance of ALL TIME

  • fargo ???? what a dumb faggot !

  • @ytertyu Hey!!!! I hate fargo too, The Coen Brothers suck. But Malcolm McDowell isnt a faggot, he is Alex Delarge

  • @3Axy10Est13 no alex delarge is him, though technically alex is a combination of ant burgess's demons and the rape and assault of his wife

  • @ytertyu racist

  • I'm down with both those choices, in the mood I'm in right now.

  • i wish one of these movie stars would say Waterboy or some Jackie Chan kung fu flick lol

  • @richie8811 Eva Mendes said ANCHORMAN with Will Ferrell

  • Most enthusiastic and polite actor in Hollywood right there. Everytime I stumble upon an interview with him he is so deeply committed and answers every question very fulfillingly. He seems like, aside from being an actor, a downright film geek. I would love to talk movies with him for hours.

  • GOODFELLAS. That's all I have to say.

  • 0:42 Wise words were spoken. Thanks Malcolm! Oh and good choices!

  • i could listen to him talk all day xD

  • He was so gorgeous when he was young (Clockwork Orange) and he still is gorgeous.

  • You know it's funny. Hearing McDowell regarding a Coen Brother film as one of his favourites got me thinking: Who here agrees that he would do well in a Coen Brother movie himself?

  • Fargo, pretty weird choice i think.

  • ..I love him

  • No, what's shows you that the oscars suck is that Malcolm McDowell didn't get an oscar for a clockwork orange

  • OMG ITS ALEX..

  • One has viddied that one is too cool to be talking to afi

  • I love his take on favorite movie. I myself find that I may lean one way or another when it comes to what is my favorite, depending my mood and how I'm feeling.

  • In my opinion I think akira kurosawas ikiru is the greatest film of all time. That the living wake or donnie darko (theatrical)

  • Clockwork is my 2nd favorite Kubrick Film

The General is my #1 favorite of all time

The best movie ever MADE is Metropolis

  • I can't help but laugh everytime he says America. I keep thinking "THIS IS YOUR PRESIDENT JOHN HENRY EDEN"

  • this guy is awesome.

ACOrange is my favorite film of the 70s. Yes over the Godfather.

Btw ACOrange is my fav Kubrick flick too

  • He's right, all these award shows are ridiculous

  • Im singin in the rain.....

  • OMG IT'S PRESIDENT EDEN!!!

  • My Favourite movie has to be (1993's Jurassic Park), not only did the visuals transcend my knowledge of fossils, but it shows me a world I can still believe in... Imagination. Thanks Steve your the greatest! :3

  • 6 people were raped by someone singing "Singin' In The Rain".

  • Can't choose, I always say Citizen Kane, Donnie Darko & Amadeus

  • Actually, "Dances with wolves" is pretty good picture, so it isn't so ridiculous that 'Goodfellas" hasn't won that year. But "A clockwork orange" hasn't won 1971, now that's ridiculous.

  • one can't one what one's one is

    HA jk

  • a clockwork orange is my favourite movie because im always in the mood for it!!

  • @chuckielover06 you are always in the mood for some ULTRAVIOLENCE

  • A bit cold and pointless isn't it my lovely? What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.

  • Malcolm McDowell is brilliant.

  • I really liked Fargo but it was great but it didn't quite make the "masterpiece" status for me. TBH though Malcolm your Clockwork Orange was a better movie than Fargo in my opinion.

  • Incredible voice.

  • Oh Lucky Man

  • all hail malcom mcdowell...

  • THE COOLEST+CHARMING BAMF EVER!!!!

  • Great actor (yes, including Caligula, one of my favorite childhood-movies) ...

    BUT ...

for acting in Halloween 2 (the remake), one of the most godawful films shat out this century, McDowell deserves a kick to the nuts! Did he really need the cash that badly?? I would have donated ...

  • he's really awesome in killzone 3 as johan stahl

  • Fargo is also one of my all time favorites. A laugh a second with that goddamn film!

    You're awesome malcolm!

  • For a moment I forgot he was the voice of John Henry Eden in Fallout 3, until he said "America."

  • I agree, Fargo was a fantastic movie.

  • I have to disagree with Malcolm, sawy :O

I thought Fargo was the most boring movie I have ever watched!

  • For me he will always be Admiral Tolwyn :)

  • @WarhammerProGamer Same here!

  • Jesus he's still lively as hell for his age

  • 'Fargo' - best answer ever to AFI. Malcolm McDowell is great, even if 99% of his movies are crap, we'll always have the jewels: 'If....', 'O Lucky Man!', 'Royal Flash', a few others.

  • @FungusMossGnosis : Is he still acting? Haven't seen anything recently with him in.

  • @heliopolis29

Oh Yes! He's in lots of things still. Just saw him in "Entourage", and "The Mentalist" TV series', and he'll be in the new Amy Heckerling / Alicia Silverstone movie "Vamps", which no doubt is based on Jane Austin or whatnot.

  • gnome

  • I was hoping he'd say 'Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2'

  • man he needs to get a new agent he went from clockwork orange to tank girl

  • @ThaMuzeekEnthuziest so true. thats mindless hollywood typecasting for you. Malcolm's best movies were made outside the hollywood system: A Clockwork Orange, If...., O Lucky Man!, Aces High, Voyage Of The Damned. though after Tank Girl,at least he got to kill Captain Kirk

  • Mega melons 5

  • The Shawshank Redemption- The movie taught me more about life then everything else

  • Fuck yea!

  • Sad to see a man of his caliber and acting talent in third rate movies. What happened to the likes of "Clockwork Orange" and "O Lucky Man" those two movies changed my entire perception on the world around me.

  • I know the laws you bastards

  • can somebody PLEASE give this genius of cinema better work?

  • Comment removed

  • I love him.

  • Fargo ftw, awesome, awesome, awesome film

  • You're a f*cking liar Mr. Lundegaard!

    A f*cking liar.

  • that's a good judge of character

  • There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, Petey, Georgie, and Dim.

How A Clockwork Orange never won best director or picture i will never know.

  • @getlikemc Money and marketing is why

  • @CommissarHammerzeit can you say that after the 2010 oscars?

  • @getlikemc I can even say it about the 3010 oscars, we are all but human... Money, status and worthless advancement... Even the richest want to get richer

Basically Malcolm McDowell has inspired me and will continue to do so, from ACO to If...

  • @getlikemc Because Academy is afraid of good pictures. And good stories too... Watch Balkans movies. Watch W.R. Misteries of organism... You'll see...

  • @getlikemc Because Academy is afraid of good pictures. And good stories too... Watch Balkans movies. Watch W.R. Misteries of organism... You'll see...

  • @getlikemc I think Kurbrick should have won Best Director for A Clockwork Orange although The Last Picture Show was the Best Picture of the Year.

  • @getlikemc even more so how was malcolm mcdowell never even nominated for best actor

  • @W3R4P3STUFF amen brother

  • @getlikemc Not to mention Best Actor

  • @Totalpranny i know man he wasnt even nominated

  • @getlikemc I think it was too controversial to win any awards. The fact that it was a British film didn't help either.

  • @FetaCheese222 oh yeah casue British films never win any awards (Chariots of Fire, Gandhi, The King's Speech, Shakespeare in Love, The Last Emporer: All British films that won best picture)

  • @getlikemc Whatever. It was more the controversy that I think prevented it from winning awards anyway. But like McDowell says here, these awards are redicoulos.

  • @getlikemc Because the people who vote at the oscars refuse to vote for any film that isn't either contemporary, "snugly" or set in WW2 or the Old West.

  • @swordhunter12 Guy you are so damned right. How can it be that nor Hitchcock neither Kubrick got an Oscar? This shows us the value of this tiny little figure: None at all.

  • @trillian1964 Technically not true...the Oscars were not given for best directors. But, 2001 won an Oscar for special effects, and Rebecca won an Oscar for Hitchcock.

  • @getlikemc I agree. Clockwork Orange is an absolute masterpiece.

  • @getlikemc it was a way too shocking movie to win an Oscar at that time.

  • CLOCKWORK WOOO

  • How about picking a British film, Malcolm, since our movie industry has created more classics than any other nation and you are still British mate!

  • @maxiboy666 because he is talking to the American Film Institute about American films

  • @skycalico just cuz he's british he has to pick a british movie

  • Fargo really is an amazing film

  • i agree! my favorite of all time!

  • u can recognize his voice from a clockwork orange

  • Malcolm McDowell is one the most underrated actors of all time. He is a great actor who happens to have a terrible agent, because he keeps getting signed for alot of shitty movies.

  • this guy has good taste

  • FARGO!!!

  • I think its a shame that he is beginning to take on an American accent. You dont have to, take Joan Collins she lives there but doesnt have the accent. Its a choice, I suppose hes got an American wife and kid and is totally submerging himself in the culture cos he lives there. Shame.

  • @Edward1312 ...shallow fool.

  • pulp fiction, requiem for a dream, 2001: a space odyssey, city of god, are all just a few of my favorites

  • I absolutely love Malcolm McDowell, but I have to say I didn't like Fargo, I know I'm in the minority on that one, but really I didn't, but I'm the kind of person that loves Caligula, incidently with Malcolm McDowell so what do I know.

  • I just freakin' love the way Malcolm McDowell goes about this interview.

  • its official. malcom mcdowell is my fave movie star ever. he likes goodfellas, fargo, and he was in a clockwork orange. oh, and he doesnt care much for the oscars either! fuck, yeah, go snuff it academy!

  • my fave movies are the shining, clockwork orange and name of the rose:)

  • My favourite movie is "The Quiet Man".

  • I think Pulp Fiction or A Clockwork Orange is.. I agree with him on GoodFellas..

  • Malcolm MacDowell is such an awesome guy. Every time I watch an interview with him or when he speaks at a show, he's so enthralling and interesting.

  • How I know the Oscars can be full of crap: Malcolm McDowell didn't even get nominated for his brilliant performance in Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece A Clockwork Orange

  • fave movie from all time: Black Orpheus. PERIOD

  • The best I ever seen hands down is a Russian film called The Thief made in 1990 I believe that is rarely if ever talked about much less shown. It`s a film that really showed to me why people grow up the way they do, and you can`t get better than that.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Yes you can.

  • goodfellas and fargo are my favorites, along with shawshank redemption and american beauty

  • Goodfellas didn't win because it was going up against other very good movies. awakenings, godfather III and dances with wolves

if it came out any other year, it would have won best picture.

  • always clockwork orange, yes sometimes the Oscars should go to the movies & actors that really need it and earn it. Not like actors such as Heath Ledger just because he died, because in my eyes Jack N. will always be The Joker.

  • he has a damn good voice. has he done any voice overs?

  • Malcolm McDowell is a God.

  • Its Pres John Henry Eden !!!

  • My favorite movie? Well, now that you ask... It's Come and See. By the greatest movie I've ever seen.

  • My favorite movie of all time? Why....its YOU, sweet America. Haha! Of course! Now! ,..and forever. This is President Eden signing off.

  • He has a nice taste, Goodfellas and Fargo two of my favorites. And I think he's the first actor who says oscars are ridiculous :D, I agree with him but sometimes, like the last one goes to The Hurt Locker!

  • he is d idiot dat make da president voice in fallout 3

  • @jooljetkmae Goodfellas & Clockwork. MY FAVOURITE!

  • fact: he voiced John Corben / Metallo in Superman: The Animated Series

  • Fargo!

  • he's absolutely spot on.

  • its funny because fargo references a clockwork orange

  • I thought his favorite movie would be singin in the rain !

  • yeah good fellas is the best!!

  • Total respect to Mr McDowell.

  • Proof of the silliness of the Oscars is that the great Barbara Stanwyck was never awarded one.

  • He's right. Not only should 'Goodfellas' have gotten Marty his Best Director Oscar, it should have won Best Picture. It's arguably the best film of the decade.

  • @jksonny here here

  • I saw Fargo and Goodfellas when I was like four and seven, and they were both great movies.

  • Fargo started playing on Encore, I've seen it twice. It's crazy :D

  • I love FARGO too. A brilliant film which use some of the best elements of Hitchcock, and Billy Wilder, while being totally original. I seen it at least 20 times, and still see something new in it. Cohen Brothers are geniuses.

  • coen brothers nice choice! big lebowski i think is just as definitive as fargo if not more; every facet of that movie is brilliant every scene is golden. thus, it is my choice, as well as cool hand luke and donnie darko

  • Vote for Eden!

  • This is your president speaking ,John Henry Eden...

  • yessss i loveeeee this fucking guy

  • It's so hard to choose a favorite...ugh...I think The Goodfellas was badass, hell yeah, Ray Liotta. But not my favorite...The Crow has my favorite actor in it Brandon Lee, Halloween has my favorite actress in it, Jamie Lee. Yeah, what a coincidence. I'd have to say the LOTR trilogy because it has inspired me to write a long while back. Although I don't care for the director much, I do like his version of J. R. R. Tolkien's LOTR novels.

  • And he is my master, leader and humble narrator.

  • Thats my droogie

  • withnail and i

  • I agree with Malcom McDowell, you can't pick just ONE movie.

For me though I think it'd be:

Funny Movie - The Big Lebowski

  • I agree with him. The Oscars can b
