easy...proverbs has 31 chapters, read a chapter a day for a month, you can do that everyday and you would have read the book of proverbs 12 times in a year. also in the old testament, read a chapter a day from Genesis, do the same with the new testament from Matthew. That way you are reading 3books a day and making systematic progress. That works for me. I go the mile of reading psalms as well.

I use 'The Word For Today' its by a Christian Company called UCB -United Christian Broadcast and i Use the 'Open Heaven' by the Redeemed Christian Church of God's E.A. Adeboye

Hi( kellykiwifaith) depending on what u r going through, you can google the key word such as patience, unbelieve, faith and more e.g "patience and bible verses". It will bring up bible verses related to the key word patience. get a well reference bible. they usually have at the back some bible verses to address different spiritual challenges top up with teachings. My personal advice 2 you wld be 2 pray & read your bible on a daily basis i recommend u do that b4 leaving ur home, with all off

they are also several bible study guide and bible reading plan that can help you 2 read the entire bible in a year, 2 or so. It is only requires commitment. What TD J said is simply that as a believer we are to renew our mind to align it in tune with the word of God. Therefore the knowledge of the word is very important as that is who we are when we become christian born again John1:14. Thus that renewal happens as we get to know the Lord and Who we are in him through his word and more...:)

@styleitup21 I would start in the Psalms; the writers of this book knew about anxiety, depression and interpersonal struggles. Start with Psalms 107 and note what God does for these people (even those in open rebellion against Him!). Also read something from the New Testament (like a Gospel) and note the words of Jesus to those of us struggling with these things: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest..."

@stylitup21 I learned when you're tryin to figure out what to read in the bible but don't know where to go, start with the issue you're having. For ex, you need a word to relax your mind. Look in the concordance (in the back of most bibles) for all the verses you can find on peace, fear, anxiety or whatever issue you are having. Also be sure to pray and ask God to lead you. Sometimes you "stumble" on the word you need. Verses that helped me w/worry: phil4:6-7 I peter 5:7 luk 12:22-32 pslms 55:22

For people who are first saved most recommend starting in matthew and going on because Jesus is speaking etc. however I like to read what will help me in my walk and i love proverbs too i really recommend these and they are not too too long trust me I really enjoy 1peter and 2 peter, also James, and Timothy, and 1john,2john,and 3rd john, also if you are looking for a long book Hebrews is good. You can always begin in Genesis and begin the quest to reading the entire bible. What's also beneficial is reading on areas in the bible that minister to where you are in your life. Take a Bible with an index, pick out a word like faith or peace. Open and read a few verses about that word and memorize these verses. Which you can recall wherever you are. Just start reading the Bible, stories, Psalms and slowly you will be healed by the word. I had the same problem, I did not know where to start.

@styleitup21 Thats an awesome question. The Bible can be a bit difficult to read. I wld suggest getting a study Bible. B/c on the bottom of each page, it breaks down the scriptures in common language, like a text book. The NIV version may work best. Also, Ecclesiastes, Psalms, James, Corinthians are books in the bible tht r helpful. And The book, The Purpose Driven Life is awesome. It has gotten me thru many days. Be blessed :)

@styleitup21 try "Joyce Meyers" book "The Power of Speaking God's Word" It's a book of Bible scripture for things you're going through in life! She also has a book called "Battlefield of the Mind" which is one of the most helpful books to help you overcome wrong thoughts in your mind! Also try taking Magnesium it helps calm your nerves and thoughts, it works really good! I take one half teaspoon of epsom salt in a drink to get my magnesium it works great for relaxing your mind and nerves!

@styleitup21 go grab yourself a scripture loaded teaching series to get yourself started.. for what you have described here i would suggest something like 'Battlefield of the mind' by Joyce Meyers or 'Believers Authority' by Andrew Wommack.. all i can tell you is once you start searching the word and do it diligently, you will find the verses and they will speak to your spirit and you will be set free.. little by little as it sinks in, your mind will be renewed.
