This is what we commonly define as the Seperation of Church and State and it is law in every industrialized country, including America.
Whether you believe in a creator or not should stand seperate from your decisions in the Senate or House.
2.Obviously, if you get your pro-society views from religion (don't kill, steal, lie, etc) then that's fine, but those are morals. Including prophecy in politics is something completely different.
Church and state are seperate and should be seperate so that multiple religions can live in peace and tolerance while operating in the same government.
A state that is not seperated from church usually turns into a theocracy. This is what the Christian Dark Ages were in Europe up to 500 years ago and what most of the Middle East still is today.
You get the opposite of democracy, which is, I believe, what America is so proud of.
Of course, that's what you get when you take it far beyond even Sarah Palin's beliefs. Fortunately, we're not that deep down :)

North Koreas Economy used to be stronger than South Koreas in the 70s and 80s. The main reason why it faltered was because of the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 90s which was one of its crucial trading partners.

There are characters in it who go to church and are Christians, but they say that they are taught that there is no Hell... so Pirkle solemnly tells them that they're headed for Hell if they keep going to that Christian church. Lo and behold, one of these people is decapitated in a motorcycle crash, in graphic detail. Pirkle announces he's in Hell and we see him in Hell also.

I don't think she's qualified to become President, but if she wants to run, good for her. The only way she will win is if all of you "talkers" stay at home, or continue to applaud as Olbermann and the like continue to keep her relevant.

What do Atheists believe in? Seriously, I'd like to know. I admittedly don't know much about Atheism, other than the basic things.
Everyone can believe what they want to believe. I'm just saying that I should be free to believe what I do, just as much as you should. To watch Keith blatanly mock Palin's beliefs would, in a another era, have caused quite an outrage.

Atheists believe you need empirical(scientific) evidence before you can believe in any form of gods, spirits etc.
Atheism is the opposite of Theism, which is the belief in god(s).
If you are free to believe what you want, then I must be free to challenge your beliefs. If someone came up to you and said 1+1 is 37 you would challenge it. This is the same thing.

I think your analogy is slightly flawed. 1+1=2 is a mathmatical constant, whereas belief and faith is not so black and white. Why do you have to challenge it? Does the belief need to be defeated or erraticated? Can't I have my belief and you have yours? I don't see why i should have to challenge your belief in Atheism.
People choose to take religion and misconstrue it. I don't blame God for man's mistakes. I think that has something to do with it as well.

Atheism is an absence of any kind of God/Gods (which you said) but only that.
Naturalism believe that only through empirical (scientific) evidence brings one closer to the ultimate "truth" - even if that means testing the idea of the human spirit.
I literally did a presentation on this about 3 hours ago lol.

As xkeltoix said, atheism is just the absence of a god/gods. So really, you can't define a person by atheism - just like I can't define what you believe in if you are an a-fairy-ist.
However, most atheists describe themselves as humanists/naturalists or any spiritual movement like buddhism or pantheism.

Atheism is not a belief system like religion. It simply means you do not believe in a god because there is no evidence to support the supernatural. Atheists require evidence to support a claim before they accept it. Religion requires a person to accept things to be true based on faith and not evidence.

If you know "the basic things" why are you asking what atheists believe?
Laplace said, "I have no need of that hypothesis," when asked about God by Napoleon. That's a fair assessment of atheism, in a nutshell. The most common criticism of it (and it is a weak one) is that it is unjustified in its hubris.
Of course, we are talking on computers that didn't exist then either. Do you believe the computer is a miracle - or a product of good hypotheses?

1.Our problem is that no government should be run from a theological perspective. It should be run from a political point of view, entirely seperated by any view on whether there is anything supernatural up there because it's irrelevant to the war in Iraq.
This is what we commonly define as the Seperation of Church and State and it is law in every industrialized country, including America.
Whether you believe in a creator or not should stand seperate from your decisions in the Senate or House.

2.Obviously, if you get your pro-society views from religion (don't kill, steal, lie, etc) then that's fine, but those are morals. Including prophecy in politics is something completely different.
Church and state are seperate and should be seperate so that multiple religions can live in peace and tolerance while operating in the same government.
Again, this is law, not opinion.

A state that is not seperated from church usually turns into a theocracy. This is what the Christian Dark Ages were in Europe up to 500 years ago and what most of the Middle East still is today.
You get the opposite of democracy, which is, I believe, what America is so proud of.
Of course, that's what you get when you take it far beyond even Sarah Palin's beliefs. Fortunately, we're not that deep down :)
