I'm looking into getting my first bike sometime in the future. I really like what I've seen and read on this one. I have a question. Do you feel comfortable going at higher speeds on the highway and are you comfortable in traffic? Where I live the people are a little bit nuts. I used to own an economy car that just didn't accelerate quick enough for me. I felt like people were monsters in comparison to my power. Thanks in advance for any replys.
it seems under powered on the highway or really at any speeds over 45mph. it would be great for city/town riding though. it isn't as fast as a camaro or a mustang gt but it is definately faster than a geo metro.
@dragonsla12345 Hello, I have two of these DR200se. Great bikes! 70+mpg, go anywhere. First thing you'll want to do is replace the stock front sprocket from stock 14 (too small!) to at least a 15T (I have a 16T on my highway bike) these bikes haven't been changed in 15 years. Often they can be found cheap too, check Craigslist. Don't be discouraged by years (most are the same) anything 2000 up is only color changes. Anything under 13k mileage is fine usually. Good luck eh!
I have an 02 model (same bike, even same color) indestructable. He is coming no where near over reving it. I get 80+MPG's at 65 MPH with a 15 front sprocket. When the US goes up in flames, I'll be riding mine to Canada.
