IMO, the best way to control drug abuse would be to legalize (and tax) all drugs and issue "drug permits" (like driver's license) that would allow adults who have completed an extensive drug education program to purchase drugs at special stores, implement severe penalties for supplying minors and/or people who don't have permits. use the tax revenue to provide free drug addiction treatment to those who need it. mandate drug purity, disallow all tv/media drug advertisements, provide education.

In this case i agree with lejink, this city/country appears from the video to be so overrun with coke that the place is effectively just in denial. Cocaine is in reality legal in this country. Next we will see cartels/militias building areas with a reputation for security so that north American tourists who want a 'coke' weekend with the guys can visit/snort without fear of being busted/hurt. Then its just time, like Holland has legal marijuana, Colombia will have legal coke and high :) tourism.

IMO, the best way to control drug abuse would be to legalize (and tax) all drugs and issue "drug permits" (like driver's license) that would allow adults who have completed an extensive drug education program to purchase drugs at special stores, implement severe penalties for supplying minors and/or people who don't have permits. use the tax revenue to provide free drug addiction treatment to those who need it. mandate drug purity, disallow all tv/media drug advertisements, provide education.

yeah, i agree, but in defense of those that illegalized cocaine back in the day, i dont think that anyone could have planned or predicted things to be this way ... especially not back in the early 20th century when the USA enacted that legislation. actually what prompted them to make the law was the case of a little girl who died from drinking a "vitality tonic" that was nothing more than sweetened seltzer water with high doses of cocaine.

I mean come on! This problem is unsolvable for this reason. You can get an ounce of coke in Mexico for 100 dollars and you can sell in in America for over 1000. There is so much money to be made that even if they started giving dealers the death penalty they would still do it due to the sheer vastness of profit.

In this case i agree with lejink, this city/country appears from the video to be so overrun with coke that the place is effectively just in denial. Cocaine is in reality legal in this country. Next we will see cartels/militias building areas with a reputation for security so that north American tourists who want a 'coke' weekend with the guys can visit/snort without fear of being busted/hurt. Then its just time, like Holland has legal marijuana, Colombia will have legal coke and high :) tourism.

the war on drugs has failed, maybe its time to stop spending so much money trying to stop the drug dealers and just legalize it. then spend all the money we do on police and court time and put it towards 100% funded drug treatment.

I think you will find that doctors can prescribe you opium and coca derived medicines, Some are very similar to the street drugs(they are safer because they are legal and pure).
All the Illegal drugs are already pseudo-legal, legal via prescription.
I would like to propose that the street drugs/drugs used for recreation are made safe and available for prescription, TAX the shit out of "recreation prescriptions" so you can get people in rehab, Not jail.
