I actually love Andy's vibrato. Seriously. Pure late '60's. I actually spent months trying to learn that style of vibrato because I felt my vibrato was a little too-SRV-ish. Andy's vibrato (and playing altogether) has improved a lot since PGS started doing these videos. Listen to some newer ones and you'll see what I mean. He's an extremely-well-rounded player, and he's actually inspired me to work on my own rhythm-playing (and it's gotten A LOT better as a result).
Them changes with this pedal sounds nothing like Hendrix's tone. It is funny some people think this sounds like a plexi. Not a bad pedal. LOve pedal is great at hype imo " will sound/turn any amp into a plexi with 6550 tubes" Ha that is just retarded. It sounds good for what it is thou.
@phatsound1 i agree, it's like the emperor's new clothes, if they said it sounds like a vox on lower settings and exactly like a cranked jcm800 dimed, ppl would believe it.
Not too shabby getting some early Hendrixish tonal flavours there. Crank it up and start playing some Live at Monterey chops might be bliss on a pedal like this one!
This pedal seems to be the surprise of the bunch oddly enough. Maybe the player was in a better mood therefore his licks gave the illusion that the pedal sounds better? Weird but it does sound organic not like burgers frying on a grill lol. I'd imagine if that was turned up and the amp was turned up it would nail all the classic tones!
I got one of these about a month or so ago, and I really dig it. It and a Timmy are my two favorite OD pedals. It works really great with the guitar's volume knob backed off slightly -- creates a fantastic bright clean tone that really cuts through. Turn the knob up and you've got great Marshall sounding crunch. Very nice! Lack of a volume control is slightly a downer, since it gives you quite a boost in volume when you have the drive up at 3 o'clock (which is where I usually leave it).
I don't remember the COT that I tried out sound as good as this one. They nailed everything that was wrong with the later version, right on Love Pedal! And the look is very cool too, simple but cool.
bring it it back!!!!!!!!! this and les lius should stay in production forever. give tone to the people!!!!!!!!

Do you Andy play in a band?
Nice demo, love the sound of this pedal, is it still in production?

Most annoying left hand vibrato I have ever heard, but the pedal sounds great despite it.

How is the volume boost over a clean sound? I wish it had a master volume as well as gain knob
mdsveda 3 years ago 2
I have the COT 50 and it's considerable.
Doesn't seem like a pedal you would have off for rhythm and kick in for lead...
There would be too much volume increase.
It's great using as described though, setting it to taste and using your volume knob on the guitar.
Best pedal I've ever had in 35 years of playing. Really makes my Hot Rod Deluxe sound like a Marshall Plexi.
Didn't sound as good with my Traynor YCV40.

@funkyjones same pedal, some amp, some words here! +1 for Cot50, I got the blue one.
