  • hey there! alright, my v plus was dead for almost a year...it started charging again a week ago...i know the battery needs to be replaced but something's up with the screen...it isn't as bright as it used to be..like i can't see anything on the screen during daytime! (and i totally could before) it's like its got this dark/reddish tinge to it now :/ what's wrong with it and how can i fix it?!??! PLEASE reply cause this is killing me :(

  • @tenken1981 sounds like your V Plus is finished. Seems smart to mourn as needed and move on.

  • @StElijahMuseum never ;)

  • I accidentally pulled the screen connector from the circuit card. Any idea on how to reconnect it?

  • @Mixmasta01 there should simply be a plug to the circuit board. Look at the wire coming from the screen and see if there is a place on the circuit board that the connecter can be plugged into.

  • Great video, well done. This will save me a lot of trouble trying to figure it out.

  • woah ur hot!

  • This demo is great. It took me all of about 30 minutes including the time I spent looking for my set of tweaker screwdrivers. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks for the help. Mine was only glued by the connector end. A knife run along it did the trick. Also my screen did not come loose like yours but I could get to the screw which is just at the edge of the screen. This was easy. I just hope the new battery I bought holds a considerable charge.

  • wow thanks.i never new the battery was so big and that you could replace it.I actually was getting ready to trow my zen away.this really helped.

  • Get your replacement Creative Zen Battery on Batterybay -.net It only cost you less than USD 16 to revitalize your MP3 device!!

  • I think the problem was not the battery, when the mp3 player don’t charge and don’t turn on just plug it in your computer and press the reset button. The mp3 player should turn on.

  • Thx very much

  • I saw a battery for it at radio shack (online only) but I bought mine through eBay from a seller called all-monitors. I don't glue mine back together anymore because when it freezes up (which is quite often when fast forwarding) I can just take it apart easier to remove the battery and reset the unit when all else fails. The problem putting it back together for me was getting the on/off/hold switch in the correct position on the cover and circuit board so it would get into the slot. Thanks!

  • @ xavittu & coraliutz - We got the battery from batterybuyer . com do a seach for DAP-FL0040 (this is the model number)

  • hi! i can't find the zen v plus battery in the webpage can you post a link or something?

  • Where did you get that battery ?!

  • I was trying to take a working battery from a broken one to replace the broken battery in a working one, but then I found out the batteries were welded. Could you tell me what to do about that?

  • @PenThoPlayer

Hi PenThoPlayer, Are you working on the Zen V Plus? As we show in the video, the battery is simply attached to the case with a bit of sticky tape. A flick of a screwdriver is all that is needed to remove it.

  • @dongoodes I am working on the Zen V Plus, probably just a different version. I have to solder instead of just plugging it in. Thankfully, I have a friend who can solder stuff quite well though, and so I think I've got it done. Thanks for saying how to open it anyways.

  • @PenThoPlayer Ah, I get it. There wasn't a plug for the battery to connect to the circuit board. How did the soldering go?

  • @dongoodes I haven't had it done yet, and it's a friend of mine who will.

  • Nice to see someone besides me still using this player :). Yours still looks so shiny(as of the date this video was uploaded of course). Mine is so scratched up, and *sigh* my battery is screwed too. Thanks for the video, when I order a new battery for this thing, I'll be falling the video step by step. Oh, and our players are the same colors too :P.

  • Ha! You found us out darowino94. For taking apart the case my dad took over. Not quite a grandpa yet though.

  • grandpa hands XD

  • Thanks, i have the same problem! :)
