  • how about an 83 L28T with a stroker kit making it a 3.1? gets a real throaty sound! plus puts out super torque and hp without the weight of a V8

  • @fatalfury2020

While I prefer the L28 myself they are still a heavy engine. All modern V8s would be lighter. I have a VH45 (4.5l) V8 that is the same weight as my L28. But I stil love my L28

  • @fatalfury2020 stroker kit an a turbo engine is quite frankly ass backwards. The added mass and length of stroke slow RPMS while increasing torque. A stroker kit also shrinks how high the L28 can rev. All this makes having a turbo practically worthless. I'm not saying people don't do it, but those people are idiots

  • @thebluemaggot No I have been doing years of research on this and that is the opposite of everything I've found. The stroker does not limit rpms. I've seen firsthand a couple produce 7000+ rpms. I've also seen the same cars put out over 500+ hp. It can be done, and it makes a deadly racer. Problem is a lot of ppl do it wrong and thats why no one realizes the potential. Im about halfway done on mine and its gonna be wicked.

  • The only engine to sound like a V8 is........a V8 .give me that wailing L6 sound any day !

  • Thanks, Yeah the RB is an awsome engine but it doesn't get that same V8 style rumble.

  • You just can't go past a proper engine in a Datsun L series , however I will make exception for RB series , still in our exclusive family ...

  • lol i love the L28 but you just dont get that nasty sound like a L24

  • Hey gal, we've got our own '73 project 240. We've taken out the 6 and we're replacing it with an 350, couple it with a carbon fiber hood, fiberglass hatch & fenders, and '71 doors, should be a pretty mean weekend driver. With the 300zx rear end, and willwood brakes, should make for an even better autocrosser. Oh and we're only 3 years into it, money's tight, many more years to go :\

  • is that your car?

  • That is my car. I spent 4 years rebuilding it from a pile of rust. It is a 240z with 280zx running gear.

  • Go the Z, nice.

  • Thanks. Have you posted any pics of your car?
