You are correct that more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act than did Democrats; however, those Republicans were Radical Republicans, not post-Civil Rights Republicans.
Al Gore's father was a Southerner. After Johnson (D) signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964, the racists (conservatives) flip-flopped back to the Republican party. JFK was not without flaws.

Being 19, I pray to God that we have another President like this. Everyone is turning to this socialism, aka communism, because life is not fair for them. I work far from the perfect full time job, while trying to go to school, to get 1,200 dollars take home before insurance and i'm not complaining. I live with what I got and I will remain conservative until the day I die no matter what. But I guess all I can do is pray that these these values return, espescially for my generation.

Many people still hold these values but successive generations of liberal indoctrination in our education system have eroded them. Stay away from soft degrees in college (ie. sociology, political science and anything with the word "studes" in them) and work your way up. Read Edmond Burke, Thomas Sowell, F.A Hayek and Milton Friedman.

Other presidents, from Wilson to FDR, exceeded Reagan in their impact, but much of it was negative. Sure, they won wars, but they almost destroyed the American economy as well. Reagan, by contrast, won the Cold War and also revived the American economy from decades of abuse.

Those who have no health insurance will receive better health care from almost any hospital than from having Obama Health Insurance. Our health care system is not perfect, but is still the best in the world.
