This has always been my favorite Johnny Burnette tune. It was the "B" side of his biggest hit "Dreamin". I attended his concert in Panama City, FL in 1961 while "Little Boy Sad" was climbing the charts and got his autograph back stage after the show. I told him I was disappointed he did not do "Cincinnati Fireball". He said he would get it next time. Unfortunately three years later he was gone. I still have the autograph today, some 50 years later. It is displayed in my personal museum.
Yea man,, the music industry just followed the path to self destruction music wise.
But it was the big guys with the big cigars and the big commercial record companies and duped dj's who wandered into the land of fairy wands and so called acceptability .Anyway, I'm happy that I managed to collect so much devils music !
The big US record companies had begun softening up Rock 'n' Roll by adding strings to make teenage music 'more acceptable'.Soon we would have Bobby Vee,Bobby Vinton and a host of others crooning on the Perry Como show.Clean cut individuals created by and backed by bosses of these big record companies. The days of the creative southern independants were numbered!
@GOLDBAND45 i gotta say that johnny souned great with strings.(dreamin your 16)but i do think they were trying to cool down that crazy rock and roll.then came the beatles and the came the hippies and then came the drugs and free love.boy i'm glad we finally got or heads screwed on straight and don't have that devil music anymore!
Apart from his great RockaBilly stuff this one stucked yrs ago to my head like epoxy glue. Like the gtr really. "Shes not so tall but she got it all" Where can I find dat gal?
"...and that's why I knooo' I gotta gooo' at that ooooh hiooh!" Ohaaaa!
yep that's a great song! What was your comment about, where you talked about the Johnny Burnette trio and Howlin Wolf? Did I make a mistake somewhere and posted a Howlin Wolf song under the name of Johnny Burnette?
You were right about the Johnny Burnette trio, I had not written the right names of the members, I dunno why...thanks anyway :)

One of my alltime favourites.
I have happy memories of this being played at the local fairground. It was always played on the waltzer ride.
