  • From your info: "reshit." Yes indeed, it's sort of all been said before. Reshit.

  • No, I don't understand. What is the

"Heavens"? Is it the stars, moon?

    How far 'up' is it?

  • @gregrutz Heaven's= the entire known universe. Watch the section on merisms again, it's fairly straight forward and not that complex to grasp.

  • Bad choice of music at the end. Also Sprach Zarathustra is a tone poem based on Neitzsche's novel which suggests god is dead and man is the highest power.

  • hehehe Nimrod Vs. Einstien?? let me think.

  • gap theory is wrong.

  • yea this guy actually gives 40 min of proof to back his theory up and you? You just make a statement and dont even try to back it up.

  • @Parkrose21 what about evolution (and I will specify macro evolution)? Do you believe god would design life then allow evolution to occur and change them completely? How can you claim a scientific approach to bible translation and then ignore the science- dna record and fossil record which makes evolution an undeniable fact at this point. This looks more to me like yet another retreat and redefinition by christians to hold onto their bronze age beliefs.

  • @ultim4t32 I will put it this way...

If can make like and mater from nothing... and arrange it in the fashion he wanted... then why could he not have a long term plan for it...

We often make five and ten year plans for our lives....

Why then could god not make a five billion year plan for all life..

  • I not sure what to believe. yet this guy does make a good case. Good Job.

  • @hennessey808 IF you are not sure what to believe. You apparently already are bible familiar. Perhaps learn about science - evolution, abiogenesis and cosmology. Only go to reputable scientists in the field. There are tons of christians purposely spreading false information out there. People like Ray Comfort and Kent Hovind (and more) make their livings telling people what they want to hear knowing full well they are not being accurate.

  • @natruto Gap theory is actually a misnomer. There is no gap in the continuity of events, between the destruction of the pre-adamic civilization described in Jeremiah 4:23-27 and the events of the earth's restoration in Genesis.

  • @OGSamwise There is a 65 million year gap between the Age of the Dinosaurs and the Bible.

  • excuse me, how does anyone know moses wrote genesis? how does anyone know moses even lived? the archeological evidence is heavily opposed to that being the case.

you nut jobs just make up whatever the hell you want and try to make other people believe it. loonies, the lot of yah.

  • Easy, if there was no Moses, then the first five books of the Bible wouldn't even exist. And I saw evidence for the story of Moses on the history channel once. That was even before I became religious.

  • hahahahaha

    bwahahaheru5tg6grb

christians...how precious. no sir, there isnt a shred of evidence moses existed. jews wrote it duh. it's a mythology. might want to find out how those work.

  • But . . .. . the history channel says otherwise....

  • you know bearing false witness is a sin in your religion right? there has never been anything on history channel or anywhere else for that matter that gives the slightest clue moses lived.

besides you nonce if he wrote the first five books, how did he write about his death and burial? haahahahaha

  • I'm not lying! I watched it with my mom, and my little brother! And I talked to my eastern/western history teacher about it, and she saw it too.

Moses was a prophet, so he could probably prophecy his death.

  • well you need to check again son because there is no proof whatsoever. prophecy his death...lol good stuff

    you're a funny man.

  • "you need to check again son...."

    (sigh.) I'm on it.

Do you know how to watch full-length videos from the History channel?

  • yea sure, why don't you give me the name. if you think i am going to trouble looking up myself with some fictional show about moses you are retarded.

how about you watch this one for me and we can save ourselves the trouble...

    /watch?v=jyQwC00VaI0&feature=channel_page

  • No need to get rude, dude.

I'll post a video about it or something.

  • you're the one who asked me i know how to watch videos. good, yes, find it, i await.

  • still waiting buddy.

  • Seek and yee shall find young grasshopper......

Go to the search bar and type:

    The exodus Decoded

  • "Its claims and methods were widely criticized both by Biblical scholars and mainstream scientists."

okay what you need to do is look at the wiki page and read that INCREDIBLY long list of errors and outright lies in that video.

  • Now your just trying to smear lies. Wiki can be edited by ANYONE.

You need to watch the whole series and it makes a good case. It also says in part three that Bible sceptics just want to pass off the story as a mythology. But it makes an incredibly good case.

  • so if i can find a couple more sites that list the same errors will you admit you are a retard?

try and edit that wiki page. i dare you. show me when you are done.

  • I edited that wiki page so you can go look it up.

The problem that scholars have is that they want dearly to date the Exodus back to 1270 B.C. which is why we don't have any evidence at all for Moses because we keep searching based on this time erra. But dating the Exodus back to 1500 B.C. and saying that the Isrealites (Amos Isreal) as the Egyptians say, came to Isreal in 1470 B.C. is credited by archeology. Bible scholars just don't want to change what they already made by asumption.

  • uh yea i don't see it. they already removed it. didn't even take 5 min. well done.

  • I bet you did that!

  • nah you can see what time an edit was made and the ip address of who did it. i doubt you'll find an ip address though because wiki did it.

  • Eh, I take that back. It's not fair of me to question your integrity that fast.

  • What are you talking about? That was just my Jesus inside. (Matt 7:1)

Ya know, you where questioning my integrity first.(Matt 7:3)

I'm willing o bet that the websites I find will by written by scholars who are too conected with their King James Bibles to accept anything that goes against the origional idea of their outdated methods of chronicology. either that or some drama Bible sceptics who think anything they take out of context makes the Bible any less reliable.

  • im willing you are able to tell yourself any lie you want to protect your faith. what would it take for you to realize that video is full of shit? anyway, have fun getting laughed at every time you mention that video.

  • to bet*

  • The beginning is an unspecified period of time...

Wow how great for the Bible to be as vague as possible so that it's credibility can maintain valid. Interesting how these revelations are made the further and further we advance in knowledge about the natural world in order to discredit ancient text.

Perhaps we should look at the bible and acts of divinity as a theory to the origins of our existance similar to other scientific hypotheses.

  • who wrote the first 5 books of the bible . the bible was change 164 times. it is handy work of prest . so many book was left out of the bible. i believe in the bible but iwonder which part is the true words of god. there are too many mistake in the bible. science prove it.

  • Moses wrote it. We have manuscripts from 100 BC found in the dead sea scrolls that match the Masoretic text from 1000AD to the letter. No changes.

It's much more attested to than the Q'uran as Muhammad was a illiterate warlord and never wrote anything at all.

  • @bigwhammyRocks True and God bless you! I believe we are on one accord in our way of thinking. Keep up the good work. Take care.

  • I like how you explained what a merism is. Before this video, i didn't know what a merism was. I didn't even know "merisms" existed. Im going to remember these things. Thanks for putting this vid out, Chris.

  • i am sorry but the word bara really means fattened or filled. not created. "in the beginning god filled the heavens and the earth."

  • Please cite your source because that's just not so according to the 4 or 5 different Hebrew lexicons that I am looking at. For example Brown Driver Briggs

  • Ellohim, Elloh(im) Im is a royal plurl, like when the queen says we are not ammused, it doesnt mean there is more then one queen it just helps illistrate her importance. God is one, and Ellohim without the royal plurl is Elloh, which sounds almost identicle to Allah. The God of the Torah, Old testiment, Ingil, New testiment, and Quran, Final testiment are all from the same god they are just different revolation's and the Quran conferms the message of god from all previous revolations. God is one

  • Your "royal plural" example is in English which is not relevant.. Can you cite an example in the Hebrew language to support your claim?

  • AiG has a critique of Sailhamer's book that shows a few problems with his interpretation.

  • Hey, I've been watching some of your videos. They're great, and I'll have to admit that around a year or 2 ago you saved my faith. I have one question though, do you believe in Evolution?

  • I see some cant get past them selves , and love an arguement. JER 33:3. Will say allot to the sceptics. AMEN

  • I suppose your right. Perhaps it's best that I rot in hell forever. Onto the argument, these debates always end with the same response. "We cannot comprehend his ways." Do you really want to follow so blindly? I would rather "rot" (see how I tied those together?) than follow a being than doesn't trust me with the facts.

  • What facts do you feel are so essential that you are missing?

  • I must apologize. I thought that you disabled my posts. You didn't. I was out of line about that, but not the other stuff.

  • Ok fair enough. Now on you calling God a liar for not telling us the details...

That is a fallacy. Non sequitir, he never promised he would tell us everything . In fact he says we can not fully comprehend his ways.

Knowledge didn't help the Angels any as Satan became proud and rebelled - this is sort of puffed up pride is the exact root of the problem. More knowledge is not the answer to pride it is often the source of it.

  • The Bible doesn't support the YEC cultists.

    Thank God for reasonable faith!

  • Actually, that all depends on who you speak to. As it has been said, the lineage from Atham to Noah and then from Noah to Yahuwshua was about 4,000 years. So your comment about young earth creationists being cultists was arrogant rudeness. Atheists try to say that the earth and the universe is millions and billions of years old. So are you a closet atheist or an open atheist?

  • How convenient for you. It's especially nice how you've strategically chosen which parts of the Bible to take literally and which parts to interpret as metaphors or symbolism. Tell me, since GOD couldn't manage to have it written in a way that anyone from any language could read it without needing more than an elementary education, what other parts of the Bible should be viewed as having a hidden meaning?

  • This is literal - there are no metaphors or symbols even discussed in this exegesis. Its an issue of Biblical Hebrew from the perspective of an ancient Hebrew not "hidden meaning". I think anyone in any language can understand "In the beginning God created the universe." Does that challenge your level of comprehension too much?

  • Oh yes! Very clear! But what about this statement?

"I believe I have proven it is intentionally vague."

So instead of hidden meanings, GOD has hidden the truth (lied) from the reader? Another thing...your previous comment was very unchristian of you. One should expect that from me, but you're a "shepard" finding stray sheep. I'm still lost. You should be a good boy and pray for forgiveness. And why did you disable my posts. Scared that your sheep can't think for themselves? Tsk...no faith.

  • Oh you poor delicate flower. You have the nerve to call God a liar then you lecture me on how you are a poor little lost sheep and that's why I should pander to your fallacious reasoning. ohhhhh puuuuleeeze.

  • Can't wait for part 3 Cris.

  • Its up!

  • Good catch. I don't see a distinction in 31:17 so it could be the merism or not. The fact remains if verse one is just a summary or title you have no creation of earth or matter.

Before I started this project I leaned toward the days being 24 hour days, but in the process of researching part 3 I am utterly convinced that they are not 24 hour days. In fact a literal interpretation does not really allow them to be 24 days. I will lay this out in part 3.

    Thanks for your thoughts David!

  • Chris, I always look forward to watching any of your videos and I recommend your channel to everyone.

  • Thanks Bro!

  • What PC Bible program are you using here?

  • Libronix

  • nice

  • Thank you.

  • *applause* BEAUTIFUL! Awesome job bro.

  • Thanks!

  • (I'm not a Jew, I'm a Christian) Actually, Elohim is a majestic plural, it's not unique in Hebrew for some words to be singular but have a plural suffix. It announces majesty, essence, etc. The important thing is to see that when the plural Elohim is used as the One and True God, it's always shown that indeed it is singular and it is talking about One God. Still, I think the theory of this plurality being a hint of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit might be right. Great video!

  • Plural and singular ... good stuff.

  • I am not claiming that the Bible dates a billions of years creation. I believe I have proven it is intentionally vague. My opinion is that it is a mystery that centers around the relative nature of time from differing points of reference. Romans 1:20 tells us that the creation speaks the truth about Gods works. Because God simply has not revealed the age of the universe in scripture, it is irresponsible to make divisive claims that he has.

  • Interesting video, Whammy.

Do want to let you know that the Hebrew word "reshiyth" is used one other time in Genesis(Gen 49:3). Shalom

  • Thanks. I know but it is as first fruits or first born child- so its really not the same usage.

You would never say firstfruits God created.... lol

  • Yea, I missed that part. LOL!
