  • The CPU and GPU go hand in hand, but the CPU isn't the one responsible for your FPS. Your graphics card is the one that takes that role.

  • "He was compensated for it with an intel core i7 Extreme Edition system"

    Nuf said

  • RELAX GUYS.

THIS IS AN INTEL CHANNEL. OF COURSE HE HAS TO ADVERTISE THE PROCESSOR!!

  • No mention about a GFX card here, lemme just play BF3 on my i7 and use my Intel HD Graphics 3000 that comes with it on my sandy bridge processor and expect 300fps!!!

  • Playing CS...measuring that way i7 ? c'mon, i can play CS with no freezing on Core 2 Duo or any other older CPU, give a real mans game, give...CRYSIS or something, now that when it's 2012, i would say "Put BF3 to measure i7 power (i7=anti freezing, best graphic card=anti lag)"

  • Based on this video if I get an i7, I can play BF3 on my 7100 integrated Nvidia GS high settings. lol

  • Intel propeganda, go fuck yourself faggot...

Phenom x4 @ 3.6 GHZ, HD 6770, 4 GB RAM, ASSROCK MOBO, and a 120GB SSD allows me to run the most demanding games out right now, for example, Battlefield:3 on ultra settings with an average FPS of 60; which is more than enough for fluid gameplay.

  • fuck

  • fuckin faggot..

  • every body here says fps is more about gnu power than processor power. but fellows may i ask what is more important for you to live? air or water... it requires both cpu and gnu power to achieve high frame rates.

  • lol @ CPU determining FPS.....clearly intel marketing......

  • what is the game of 0:39?

  • @Mw2ProStYle Far Cry 2

  • this dude is a fucking retard. gpu has more to do with fps than processor does.

  • But he is a "Professional Gamer" FOR Intel. Obviously he is going to say it's great?

  • Hands down better GPU =more fps.

But never under-estimate the cpu, it is a really bootlebeck with games like Elder Scrolls. Skyrim needs a heck of cpu power!

  • Or you could lower graphics settings.....

Sincerely, owner of dual 5970's on a core i5.

  • i7 my ass

its a great processor hands down but the gpu is what really determines your FPS, today even a core 2 duo coupled with a good gpu can max out many games, just sayin not hatin

  • What a bullshit marketing...

  • sorry but professional gamer.... do you want to sound gayer....

  • 160 People hates Intel Core i7 (actually .. they think its impossible to get it)

    im gonna buy this ...

  • What a ignorant promotion video... Everybody just a little tech savvy would know that any game in the world will go fine on a i5 as well..

  • Reminds me of McLovin

  • this guy is a n00bv

  • "Professional Gamer"? lol

  • lol you can fun any game oh high settings? lol i have a i7 cpu but i only get 17 frams on battlefield bad company 2 on high settings XD

  • I'm pretty sure I ran CounterStrike on my Windows 2K system... With a PIII... I have an i7 2600K in this system right now but FPS is almost always bottlenecked by your GPU and NOT the CPU. People use Core i5 chips with Nvidia GTX 580's and get WAYYYY better FPS than someone with an i7 and a GTX 550 Ti...

  • @TheChrisramsden

I agree this guy is a cheap skank, but I ran a benchmark and with the i7 with dual 6950 and I got bad scores.

I was getting 10 fps on the "physics+graphics" test. Then I overclocked the CPU and it bumped my fps to about 30. So I guess it does have to do a lot with FPS as long as it is a game that involves lots of physics (like destruction). And no I wasn't really impressed with i7 as the hype stated. And yes this guy in the video is a fucking moron.

  • @TheChrisramsden

Ya but if they used the same GPU the one with the i7 would be better.

  • fps dependent on processor?.... There are such things as graphics cards...

  • @adequitprawn ... theres a thing called "bottle neck" lol

  • @u4eagun I realize that low end processors can cause bottle necks, but they act as if thats all that matters. That was my point.

  • Why does he need a i7 for Counter strike i have a dual core at 2.7 with a GTX 460 768MB and 4G of Ram And I get 60 fps. besides you can't tell a difference after 80fps

  • what game is he playing (not cs) the other one plz

  • @Pwnegekill Far Cry 2

  • I thought the I3 I5 I7 wasnt released till Early 2010

  • Comment removed

  • but can i play minecraft with it

  • cs 1.6 pro gamer???!!

    :D

    cs 1.6 on i7?!!!!

    xD

  • More like what gamers are paid to say about intel.

  • can we play pinball faster on i7 ?

  • @EasyTutorial5 jajajajaja

  • Flip flip flip

  • No doubt.. why is he yelling.. I wouldn't want a douche bag yelling at me while I'm playing games... only my mom can do that!

  • This guy shows no knowledge about computer bottlenecks...

A 4 or 6-core overclocked CPU is just enough to manage modern physics and sound fxs, so theres almost no need to.. 12 logical cores to do that.

    Freaking fanboys ¬¬

  • Primary part for high fps = graphics card.

  • @SlugNation True, but you can't expect high frame rates if you have a good GPU but a shitty CPU. They are both just as important!

  • @SlugNation not when you get paid by intel to talk bullshit^^

  • @SlugNation When u get into Pro gaming u lower the gfx settings! Im running a GTX 590 with low shaders no AA AF just full screen res! Then i need a strong CPU to push max amount of fps! for Pro gaming i would say atleast 200+ fps is needed! i knw alot of people say 60fps is enuf....Lower your graphics get 100+ fps and feel the difrence! You'll even experience better Latency online and on LAN

  • @ToffieBoer the human eye cannot physically recognise a difference above 75 frames per second.

  • @ThePaddy3107 But a well trained eye can xD! Lot of people will disagree...gt in an Esport community, play for a few months! Max out your graphics, wont be long until u drop it for more fps...unless u play on like 500dpi than 30fps wont seem laggy!

  • @SlugNation FPS? Fries, Pizza, Sandwiches? Goddamn I'm hungry.

  • @SlugNation figured it out! First Person Shooter. and you for sure need a graphics card for that, right? or can you just use a big hard drive? haha.

  • @SlugNation Agreed. Just count how many cores there are in the CPU of a gaming rig. 4? 8? 16? 32? Now count how many SP there are in a modern GPU. 250? 400?

Weird, isn't it? I'm just being as biased as the guy in the video; you don't want to be bottlenecked by either CPU or GPU. =)

  • @SlugNation not anymore it is. also cpu and harddrive speed.

  • @SlugNation

    Wrong.

  • @SlugNation except gta4 lol

  • Wow... my old XP1900+ with 2Gig of ram played Counterstrike pretty darned well.

Guess what? My Core 2 Duo E7500 running 2Gig of ram plays Counterstrike the same exact way, at the same high resolutions! GASP!

You don't need a fast processor to play CS. You don't even need a fast video card. This kid is just eating it up waving his dick around on camera going "YEAH! YEAH! IT'S SO AWESOME! *mutter* (They gave me a $2000 PC to say that)"

  • I'll wait till DOOM IV comes out for PC

  • the 300 i7 2600k uses 30% on the game BFBC2 maxed out that processor (the 2600k) is $700 cheaper than the extreme version :|

  • Evil Geniuses is pretty pro, EGHuk is a good starcraft2 progammer, beating nestea O.o

  • Sooo I need to pay $350 to play counterstrike?

  • primary component for fps = cpu?

I'll take you on. I'll get an i3 with GTX580

you take your i7 + 7300GS (got one lying around somewhere).

Lets see who gets the best FPS and not with counter strike, but with an actual demanding game.

  • what the f***k does profesional gamer is, thats not even a job!!!

  • >Pro gaming manager

    What?

  • Xbox 720

  • Because Counter-Strike 1.6 really needs an i7...

  • I thought this guy was supposed to be a professional gamer. Guys a dumbfuck. The cpu doesn't run you're FPS its you're graphics card more than anything. Not saying the cpu doesn't help with it, cause it does. But the GPU is more important for FPS.

  • @POPCORN454545 intel probably payed this guy to say all that shit

  • @POPCORN454545 If you have dirt grade cpu with dirt grade ram then your "graphics card does it all" is pointless because cpu and ram can severely bottle neck your GPU performance so he does know what he's saying when he said it helps with your FPS

  • @darkheat246 Wow can you read? I never said anything about how the cpu doesn't help with FPS, cause it very much does. But not as fanatical as this guy told it to be.

  • @POPCORN454545 Whoa whoa hold the anger there, I'm just saying get something like a i3. Or a Pentium core pretty cheap CPU's and build a bench mark. I'd love to see how each core affects a GPU.

  • @darkheat246 I'm not angry, i just asked if you could read properly. But you are correct, but still....gpu is going to affect you're FPS more than anything. Do you understand?

  • @POPCORN454545 Yes; mind helping me my sound card works perfectly fine so does my headset yet I cant get audio to play to the head set. My headset is Fatal1ty pro, and the sound card is fatal1ty champ.

  • its not the CPU, its the GPU, and the nvidia CUDA does all the work, so yeah. but, im buying an core i5, cause i kinda like intel XD

  • Because having 200fps you so have an advantage over the person with 60fps.

DERP, this is why PC gaming is dying, sell-out fuckwits such as this "pro gamer"

  • Why on earth do u need a 'Core i7 Extreme' to play 'Counter Strike'!!

Such senseless promo is called bullsh*tting...

  • ? at higher the resolution the video card works more and the CPU less.

at lower resolution the CPU works more and the video card less. Visually you wont see any difference between i3, i5, phenom ll x4 945, 965. Also some games works better with a dual core CPU.

  • i5 beats i7.

  • @FEENPC

  • wow what a intel whore, "the primary component of your pc that determines your fps is your processor". i don't think we should take advise from someone being sponsored by intel

  • GPU contributes more to your fps . you can get away with awesome fps with a dual core i5 if you have a nice graphic card backing it up. whereas even the 990x i7 with a low end graphic card wont do much well. common sense

  • @waseem1173 theres dual core i5?

  • @stojko88 ops i meant quad core without hyper threading my bad

  • @stojko88 or should have said an i3

  • i'd be a little more inclined to believe him if he wasn't wearing an Intel t-shirt

  • @brwnc Exactly what i was thinking!! I was like this bitch is paid to say this.

  • WTF is this? if they want someone to tell them about how good their product is a professional gamer is not the guy, they don't know shit about the true power of a CPU since games rely more on GPU power rather than CPU, so they should ask someone who works editing movies, music, 3D animation stuff like that which makes good use of the CPU, professional gamer my ass all they do is sit on their asses all day and waste electricity.

  • AMD is aparently better than intel... Idk but i just heared it somewere

  • Stupid!

  • my little cousin is also professional gamer! but if u ask him about Intel or Amd he would say is that eatable?

  • gaming on a desktop is better i rather a computer that i can use as a tv game system

    and a movie machine

  • what a skuxx

  • WHAT??!! I can use the pentium III in my storeroom to play CS, dude!!

  • Fucking queer

  • Just get a console dude

  • The way his mouth moves really pisses me off.

  • @VivaLaCheesies lol dude relax

  • @VivaLaCheesies :Thats what happens if u play too much of games

  • Yeah, I won't mention the sandy bridge fiasco if you shove a bunch of money in my face... but you didn't Intel and therefore must suffer my wrath!!

  • .... And I've only just read the closing caption of this video. .

He was "given" a i7 extreme system to "compensate" him for taking time to partake in this video. Oh yeah well that really assures me that his not being at all biased!?!?

  • This "Professional Gamer" and/or this video is so heavily sponsered by intel how can you trust anything that is said??

I admit the i7 cpu is an amazing piece of kit but the graphics card is just as important if not more so

  • Thank you professional gamer

  • I think you'd get similar performance when using a P4 HT for CS.

  • I'm curious how many bucks paid Intel for saying all that stuff :)

  • omfg do they play Counter strike with an 1000$/€ Processor??? OMFG!!

  • dosent the graphics card matter??

  • I'd say lady gaga is the greatest musician who ever lived if intel would "compensate" ME with a Core i7 system.

My point being that the opinion of someone on the intel payroll probably isn't the most reliable source of product endorsement. The possibility of BIAS seems very plausible to me.

This idiot's opinion aside, i7 *IS* the best processor that exists currently. Case closed.

  • The processor isn't the most important component at all, i mean you won’t get far on a 30" monitor whit at extreme CPU like a i7 990x, and then a shitty graphics card like a NVidia gt120...-.-'

  • the i7 has crashed on a bumber or gls events for SC2.. that's 0fps. that means u lose.

  • Comment removed

  • CPU != more FPS!!! it just doesn't . but an awesome graphics card like Nvidia gtx 5... or Radeon 6... that certainly = MORE FPS AND STUFF

  • @ElSangreDelTor0

    you're actually dumb lol

    it's both.

  • And like many of you pointed out... The GPU is absolutely not important if you have a core i7. You can use 6600GT and still have 120fps in Call of Duty: Black cocks.. seriously.

  • what's the point of watching intel processor reviews done by intel?

  • @vulkanizer

    LOL GOOD ONE

  • OMG i'm gating angry as shit after i saw this cock sucking third noob

  • P.(fucking)S. the i7 is 4core and all the treads u want but the x6 r 6 CORE and in gaming the diference in a i7 and a x6 are only the money u spend ex: i7 gaming ring 1500€ but when u go AMD same performance in gaming maybe 1 fps less 900€ . SO MY P.S. IS FUCK U!!!!!!!

  • U f*cking idiot cpu makes the difference OMG to play , on 2 core u go decent on 4 u go great on 6 core U DONT USE THEM ALL!!!! so useless the real deal is the GPU , omg and this fucking third is a pro gamer omg omg omfg want to make e gamig pc spend more on GPU and less on cpu and i talking of X6 1100t 200€ and Crossfire 6970 AMD CPU+ AMD GPU bet ur ass it works great ? but NOOOOOO this idiot spends 300€ on a sandy i7 that will never use and his happy and maybe runs on a old 9800GT ahahah OMG

  • Umm .. GPU is more important, What a noob.

  • FAIL

  • Epic fail when he said the processor is the primary factor in getting high FPS. We all know that the CPU is important, it's just that the GPU is way more important in gaming.

  • @1337RussianCoDPlay3r It does but it some game eg SC2 a faster processor is better

  • @TubeyHunter

Most of the time it's the GPU but you're correct not always.

  • 0:25 OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH COUNTERSTRIKE I TOTALLY NEED AN i7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 8 Logical Threads? I thought it was 4?

"The primary component of your system that determines your FPS is your processor"

Something sounds totally wrong about that statement.

  • Proffesional CLOWNS !

Intel give him core i7 920 and he talk what Intel says him.

  • he was compensated for his time with the Intel Extreme? wtf?

  • what about GPU.. the primary component for good FPS is not CPU you NOOB!

  • @V3niX NOOB? Can't you see he is sponsored by Intel. They wouldn't sponsor him if he said upgrading your graphics-card is better than upgrading your processor.

  • this is waste for gaming you can ps3(or)xbox360 is best

  • Basically I can regurgitate a pamphlet, I thought you had to be a genius to work at Intel, I'm rewriting my resume NOW...

  • Thumbs up if you think that buying i7 extreme to play counter strike makes no sence

  • @MrGazozcu did he say anything about using that for css? lol troll

  • @MrGazozcu Buying i7 extreme to play Battlefield 3 or Crysis makes sense, lol.

  • @MrGazozcu Buying an extreme, in the consumer market, is pointless.

I'd go with the i7 2600k. 300 bucks and as powerful as hell.

  • @Lasergun45 yur saying that 2600k way too powerful than extreme core i7?

  • why hate? some of there pros aren't just all talk some make alot of money of tourny's

  • Wait I hear games dont even utilize all of the Core-i7s cores. I heard that the Core-i5 is better for gaming.. O_o

  • @nVuzion my actual pentium dual core e-5400 is bad at gaming even with a vapor-x 5770. I think is for cpu. when i changed athlon 3000+ to actual e-5400 and without changing video card (x 1600 pro) nba 2k8 has run better. before it was sooo slow with old architecture athlon.games like mafia 2,empire total war, call of duty 4 are not good at 1600x900 with high details on my pc. So is high end CPU needed in gaming?

  • HI!!! I am a Professional Gamer. I am a certified genius, you can tell this

by my pasty skin, pimples and dull vacant face. I am a jet pilot, a Medal

of Honor winner, James Bond, and olympic athlete. Thats what my

game scores say anyway. In truth I have never read a serious book, know

no history, have no skills, no nothing about art, music, literature ..but that

hardly matters in todays virtual world. Women love me..not that I know any.

And oh yeah I voted for Obama.

  • @ehunter2 You forgotten to add: i earn more money a month then ehunter2

  • DId we hear crap! crap once, crap twise, WHAT pice of shit! pice of shit once, pice of shit twice, pice of shit third AND Marked as pice of shit :D

  • It would be interesting if they broke down the price points of a $1,000 Extreme Cpu, versus a $300 Mainstream Cpu, and the relative performance. The vast majority of the time, all of that extra power is either pure overkill (meaning 300fps isn't technically any better than 60 if ur display is 60hz) or bottlenecked by mediocre memory or Gpu. Just sayin..

  • You keep lying out your but, lol. Just keep embarrassing your self.

  • "Hey, baby, I'm a professional gamer...would you like to dance?"

    "No."

  • AMD!!!

  • Any other competitor? The ONLY other competitor is AMD so why not just say it?

  • "This is Alex's opinion alone and he was compensated for his time with a Core i7 Extreme Edition system."

    I laughed soo hard. xD

  • A 980x system to have to say this crap?

I wouldn't do it, it would just put me through too much pain to have to have these words permanently on youtube.

  • Yeah, his mouth pisses me off.

  • If i were to give advice it would be get a better graphics card long before an i7. A low performance gpu will bottleneck your system and your i7 will be useless.

  • @rapacki He has an underbite.

  • Who the hell is Channe Lintel?

  • @ 1:08 This is Andy Samberg's best digital short yet.

  • AMD is better

  • @Konanthebarbairian Really? I have a AMD 6core and it's been holding back my FPS compared to my old i7 920.

  • WHat a tool.

  • The only thing a better CPU can help with is shaders. The only point of shaders are to give depth in the shadows and some depth of textures. This i7 is no better at making him play Counter Strike than it is if he had a Core 2 Duo. What a fucking idiot.

  • @baracuda771

You are very wrong. Intel i7 will get you up to 5x times better fps depending on the level of performance of that i7 chip. There is a whole range of them. But yeah, you are so wrong. Better research before posting. Google 'CPU benchmarks' and you will learn a thing or two about CPU importance.

  • What is Nvidia

  • Douuuuuche.

  • AGREE, the CPU just gives you the speed you want, but the GPU gives you the FPS you really want, this guy is paid to say this, dont listen to his lies, the money is making him say this or else he wont be saying it, AMD Phenom II is the way to go is the way to go.

NOTE: This is coming from a professional GAMER....

  • @NitroExplosion88

CPU rules, bro. Check out the benchmarks for CPUs and GPUs and then talk. Google search works 24/7. Don't hesitate to use it. Search CPU benchmarks. Search GPU benchmarks. Compare the best results with the best results. Who scores better. It's the CPU. The best nVidia card is years behind the best Intel chip.

Check it out. Don't just ignore me. CHECK IT OUT!

  • @Coilaman Anyway who the hell is Alex Garfield?????? i never herd of this so called professional gamer, the last time i checked, i was the PRO, LOL Srry Bro never herd of him and never will!!!!

  • @NitroExplosion88

CPU rules, man. Don't ever forget it. Graphics card only helps CPU. Nobody cares about the so called 'pro gamers'. What kind of job is that anyway?

Intel i7 and Xeon Westmere FTW!

  • @Coilaman Lets wait for Bulldozer tho. I'm dying to see how the Intel i7 2500/2600(k) Quad cores stack up to AMD's 8Core, quad module desktop chips. 8 "real' cores, in two core splits. It will also be interesting to see how well AMD can compete with Intel's Hyperthreading. Rather than one core working two threads, AMD will in turn compute one thread on two cores, transparent to the OS. I think Bulldozer will do exactly what a "Bulldozer" does best :)

  • @Coilaman lol what? A GTX 580 is capable of of what, likek 3-4 Teraflops of pure compute power. It's really impossible to compare a Cpu to a Gpu like that, there's no sense to it. A good analogy would be: My car is faster on pavement than your boat is on water, it's..not logical. I think enough of us are educated to the extent we know these work in parallel, complimentary of one another. I may have just had an aneurysm reading this...

  • @HypnoticSuggestion

There is no point in arguing that the best nVidia card in the production right now is years behind the best Intel chip in pure performance. The benchmarks speak for themselves. I understand that it's like comparing apples and oranges, but a lot of people people are trying to put down and discredit the importance of CPU and they are crazy.

CPU is the most important part of any computer and that's that. Graphics card, no matter how good it is, is there to just help the CPU.

  • @Coilaman I think I understand what you mean, but if the tables were turned, utilizing OpenCL, Cuda, or ATI Stream, a GPU using GPGPU function could/would absolutely wreck any Cpu on the market, it's just a matter of the programming. If it's something so utterly sequential, absolutely, the Cpu is the monster. But today more and more software is leveraging the Gpu for good reason, they're becoming massively parallel beasts, which are far better equipped for 3d/media than any 10 Cpu's combined.

  • @HypnoticSuggestion I was lucky to get in early and have my eyes opened to what was coming with unified architectures, especially with DX10, Microsoft really led the way for that short time. What's happened is huge, expensive super computers are being replaced by a stack of Gpu's for 1/10th the cost, and performing far better. About 80% of software can benefit from GPGPU. Most supercomputing is no longer done on Cpu's. But APU is now here, rendering the entire argument void.

  • @HypnoticSuggestion

Why then all graphics cards need hundreds of cores? Because their cores are weak. A modern AMD 6-core CPU is twice as fast as the fastest nVidia card produced today. Benchmarks speak for themselves.

It's not a matter of programming the software, but really, the CPU architecture is head and shoulders above the graphics card engineering. Head and shoulders, my friend.

  • @Coilaman Okay, no offense, you're just not clear. A Gpu ALU/Core isn't the same as a Cpu core. It's a programmable shader unit, deployed in mass, in the past their were fixed function units.

If you seriously believe a AMD X6 is more powerful than a GTX 580...uhg. I don't know what to say, I guess I shouldn't try to convince you otherwise. Ironically I have a Ph II X6 1100T @ 4.0Ghz, and a GTX 580. The 580 is over 6 times the pure compute power, and about 18 times the bandwidth....

  • @Coilaman Okay, a Cpu with 959 billion transistors, 6 cores, 9MB cache. A GTX 580 with 3 Trillion transistors, that's over 3 times "pure" compute power. 512 Cuda cores at over 1500mhz.

Dude, compare a benchmark of the best Cpu you can find, versus one GTX 580, rendering an image, or decoding/recoding a video. It will beat it by ten times. I'm not sure what else to say, I don't want to sound offensive, but you're outragously wrong. Look up these benchmarks you speak of, show me ANY proof lol.. GL
