  • Do you breed apple snails? I'm trying to and could use some pointers! The Internet doesn't have much info about it. What kind of food are they eating?

  • @jcmaccormack Hi , The apple snails eat almost every feed and algae . The eggs they lay beyond the water.

  • once I bought a pair (yes, I know they're hermaphrodites..) because well.. they were pretty to look at ;)

    What a mistake. It was quiet in my fish tank for a while. Then when I was cleaning up I've noticed the cocoons. 3 of them. I didn't knock them down, since I've found them to be.. interesting. After a few days it started. Tens of hundreds little spots, heading for the bottom of the tank. Like a full-blown war in a fish tank. They're lovely, but make no mistake - they reproduce like rabbits.

    apple snails are NOT hermaphrodites you need a male and a female to breed....;)

  • @georgis4 Interesting - thanks. I just assumed they were since so many snail species are Just visited applesnail net - surprise. Thanks again.
